Habu had adopted his lovely fuzzy look yet again, the life with a bunch of eight very busy cubs was just beginning- and so far he was enjoying every minute of it. He couldn't get Kilango out of his mind, though, and kept an eye open for any odd behavior. He was determined that if someone was going to end up like his sister, well, he would put a stop to it somehow. His parents ignoring it only had hurt them more and nearly gotten him killed. He wouldn't let that happen this time.
He stood several yards outside the small den, looking out around them. Everyone seemed a bit more scattered out today, and Habu wasn't entirely sure what he should be doing. He had to content himself with sitting outside and keeping watch for now.

Seven woke up from his afternoon nap, and began to scan the den. He noticed that his father was positioned outside watching all of them. Bored with his other siblings who were still sleeping or even worse grooming, he walked out to meet his father. It seemed as if he was a bit happier now, but Seven couldn't tell for sure. "Soo. What're you up to?" Seven wanted to know what his father was doing, since he had been waiting for something for a while-- a name. With eight cubs it was understandable to get sidetracked, but Seven was tired of not having a name like the firstborns of the litter.

It would have been impossible not to notice when one of the brightest of the cubs came out looking for him. Habu smiled as he saw the seventh born cub coming towards him, very happy that they were not so shy. Part of him had worried, as he had not been around for the first week.. but it was hard to keep worrying, they were all wonderful cubs.
"Hello there, S-seven," Habu hesitated on calling the cub by a number, it was still very, very odd to him. He hadn't quite found a perfect time to bring up the need for names, so they hadn't quite done it yet. "I'm just looking around, what about you?"

Seven was intrigued by his father's hesitation. Surely, as a small cub Seven didn't intimidate a large lion like his father. "I guess I'm just doing a little bit of the same. Not much to do today, it's a lazy day." Seven paused for a moment, and ended up deciding that if he didn't bring it up now he wouldn't know when he'd have the chance again. "Dad, I want a name. It just isn't fair that the first borns have one, and I don't!" It wasn't common that Seven was able to have some time alone with his father, since so many of them were always around. It was tough to try to get some alone time with someone in the family, so it was best not to wait. Seven just hoped for something important that would fit him.

"That's surprising, usually you guys are all up and about everything all at once," Habu said with a chuckle, which came to a sudden stop when the small cub suddenly said he wanted a name. He wasn't too surprised to hear it from Seven, numbers didn't seem as awesome if there were some with proper names and the rest just numbered.
"No, it's not fair," he agreed, "What kind of name do you want?"

Seven smiled contentedly at his father's response. He had gotten what he wanted, now to decide what kind of name he wanted. "I don't know... I've never been named before. Just make sure it's a good one." Seven couldn't bear to go on without a name for much longer, so he would not be too pleased with a bad name. "Oh, just don't make it long or weird." Seven wanted something that rolled off of the tongue easily so people would have no trouble remembering who he was. "Oh, and something that goes along with my blue fur it's probably what stand out most about me."

Habu couldn't help but laugh at the cub as he tried to describe what kind of name. The yellow lion had been doing his best to think up what kinds of names he wanted for his cubs, but he didn't know exactly what he wanted to do. He would have liked to give names something like his parents, or Sheshe, or his grandmother.. those were meaningful ideas, but then, he also had a chance to come up with a name that was exactly what the cub showed itself to be like.
"Water names are common in my family," he said finally at the through of the blue fur, "My father, your grandfather, is Kizamaji. And you have aunts and uncles with names like that. Perhaps something watery."
He thought about it. Maji was water, and it wasn't long or weird- but was it too short?

Seven considered the basis for his name, and nodded. "Yes, something watery. I like it. I think it needs more though. Just water alone doesn't quite do it." He smiled deviously, because he knew that his older siblings did not have the option in choosing their name. This meant that he was obviously being favored, and that was perfectly acceptable for the little cub. His parents were not able to dish out much individual attention, so he treasured the bits he received. He looked over at the den, and hoped that no one noticed, because if they did they would probably ruin his naming.

"No, I don't think you're just a 'water'," Habu agreed with his son, beaming at him. He wanted to think of something that his son would like, something that would make him feel extra special. It appeared they had agreed on using 'maji' somehow, it made Habu smile as his father's name was Kizamaji.
"Hmm," he murmured, thinking about how the boy had been very upfront and very blunt about wanting a name. Habu was doubting too many of the cubs would be shy, but he still felt the honesty and bravery for stating exactly what he wanted was admirable. He thought back to his brief meeting with the goddess of truth, recalling her name and deciding that couldn't be used. After all, Audilifu was a girl and naming him like a girl he knew would be weird as long as they knew of the goddess. That left one other option.
"Hodari, jabari, jasiri," he listed off three simple words he knew for 'brave', and glanced to the cub to see what Seven thought of his suggestions.

Seven nodded when his father spoke, "Good, because I am not just a water. Most of the time water just sits there and stays boring, and I am not boring." He looked over at his father, and saw that he just wasn't looking at him the usual way. This moment was special, because Seven was separate from everyone else. He wasn't being compared to a sibling, or losing attention to one, but rather Seven was the center of his father's attention right now. Nothing could ever change his name, the name his was given, so this was an important day.
Intrigued by the three options for brave, Seven let out a similar "Hmm" like his father while he pondered it. Jasiri sounded the best when combined with the word for water, maji. Jasiri'Maji, it had a nice sound to it, and it was unique but not insane-- it was perfect. "Jasiri'Maji is what I choose."

"Jasiri'maji," Habu repeated proudly, noting that this was the first of his cubs that he'd had a hand in naming and how special it was that this way they knew that Seven- now Jasiri- liked exactly the name he was given. Smiling very widely, the father reached down and pulled the small blue cub to him, messing up his little start to a mane.
"Jasiri'maji it is, then," he agreed, "What do you think, you want to go tell your mom or should I?"

Jasiri beamed proudly now that he finally had a name. It was the simplest form of identity, and he was thrilled to be a part in naming himself. Smiling smugly, he loved the idea that he got to choose his name and the firstborns didn't. This all set him apart from his siblings, and that was exactly what he wanted. Being called a number was almost demeaning, and it was great to have a name. A little part of Jasiri hoped that one of his siblings was sitting inside the den, watching this all happen. "Well, I can't decide. Can we tell her together?" The young cub wanted to tell his mother his new name, but he wasn't entirely sure if she would believe him, so he decided it may bring his father along just for proof that the name was legitimate.

"We sure can," he agreed with the newly named cub, smiling and then nudging his son towards the den, "Let's go and get her, I'm sure she'll be happy to hear about it!" Getting up and walking around the small blue cub, Wahabu headed towards the den to see if Intombi was still there or if she had snuck away during their little conversation.
