Shetani was not in a good mood. This was actually unusual for the girl, despite her way of picking at everything that a certain someone did. She'd woken up in his cave that morning, and hadn't felt one with of good with the world around them, or the male beside her. ... especially the male beside her. By halfway through the day, she was sick of his presence and about to snap, so she'd moved herself up into a tree to sulk. For once she was almost glad that he didn't seem inclined to put the attentions on her that she did him.. and another part of her hated him for it. Why SHOULDN"T he want to see her anyway? b*****d.
Finally deciding that it might be to his benefit in the long run to go and see what was wrong with her, Niruzu made his way carefully down the path that lead to shore from his cave. He paused, letting his pale eyes scan the trees, until he found her lurking in one. Why the hell she ever went up in those things was beyond him, but if that's what she wanted, he wasn't going to say a damn thing. "You alright, girl?" he called up, walking to the base, head tilted somewhat to the side. He cared, a little, he supposed.
"I 'ave ah name ye b*****d!" She shouted down at him, her accent somehow dwindling in her upset state. Unfortunately she wasn't really sure WHAT she was upset about... but it didn't stop her from being very, very upset indeed. Unbidden tears sprang to her eyes and coated her voice, and for a moment all she did was hate him.
He groaned at her words, though he wasn't sure why in the hell she had yelled at him to begin with. He always called her that - it was just what he ******** did. "Fine, are you alright Shetani?" He put an emphasis on her name, sighing softly. It was the sound of tears in her voice, however, that made his skin crawl slightly. He didn't like it when girls cried and he was sure his relationship with her, whatever it was, was making him feel even worse for it. He tried to figure out how she'd gotten up there, looking around slowly for a way. Although, he wasn't sure it'd be safe to go up after her.
"NO!" She howled. After a second, though, there came a loud laugh from the treebranch. She giggled a little and passed a paw over her face to wipe away the tears. Somehow she was still crying, though, "I dun't.. oidun'tkin WHOI Oi'm cryhin... BUT EETS YER FHAULT!"

His eyes narrowed on the tree as he heard the laugh, though he could tell she was still crying - that made NO bleeding sense to him what so ever. He let out a huff, a growl on his lips as she decided to answer him. "How in the hell is it my fault? I've not done a damn thing to you.." He frowned, tail lashing.
"Oi dun't kno bu' it IS!" She insisted, throwing a glare at him. Unfortunetly for her, she'd moved her body a little too quickly on the precarious edge she was laying on.. and soon tumbled right off the side of the branch. She managed to catch her claws on the side of the trunk and saved herself from as hard a fall as it could have been.. but she was winded and crying, and the two did not mix well. The girl collapsed into sobbing weezes at his feet.
His eyes widened as he saw her fall, feet frozen for a moment. Then, as she fell partially and hit the ground, he leapt to her side with a worried frown. "Shetani, you ok?" he whispered, nosing her neck softly. It worried him that she was acting so strange, especially when he didn't know why. Hell, it was even more worrisome because SHE didn't know why.
"Gerrof me!" She sobbed and pressed herself into his chest, half worming under him to curl up against his chest. Despite that he was small for a lion, she was still smaller than him and able to do this. Likely do to the fact that she was somewhat younger than he. "Y'a*****e..."
He groaned at her words. How in the hell was she going to tell him to do something and then she herself react in the exact opposite way? He sighed, sitting down slowly, and let her curl up against his chest. "What is the matter, Shetani? You have to know.." He just ignored the fact that she called him an a*****e. Sure, it was unlike her, but so was crying and laughing and falling from trees.
"Oi dun go'aa kin notin!" She retorted with a snort. Finally the tears stopped and there was a sudden pause to her form. Quietly, in a whisper, those yellow eyes turned up to look at him in wonder. "Ye... ye're really noice to me..." Oh boy, there were the tears again. She nuzzled under his neck, suddenly affectionate as could be.
He groaned softly as she, once again, told him she had no idea what was wrong. He thought about pursuing it, trying to make her tell him, when he heard those words. He stared at her for a long moment, calm as he could be outside, though inside his head he was screaming something aking to WHAT THE HELL. He managed a slow nod, a slight frown, but he leaned into her nuzzle. "Well, you aren't acting like yourself, and you're worrying me." There, that was as close as she was getting to him saying he cared. Even with her like she was.
"Are... arr ye challin' may a beech?" She asked suddenly, voice completely dripping with sadness. Shetani scrubbed at her eyes with one paw, about ready to begin sobbing again.. as if she weren't already
"No, no, no," he said quickly, as soothing as he could manage in his suddenly panicked voice. Why the hell was he even bothering with her right now? Yeah, he cared, but not enough to let her degrade him. Of course, the thought of her telling her dad he had made her cry was also not a pleasant one. "No, I'm just saying you're sad - and you're never sad."
"well.. that's right.." She agreed suddenly, accent dropping for a moment. Shetani sniffled a little. "I don't know.. i just feel reallly bad today!"
He quirked an eyebrow at her loss of accent, though tried not to show that he had noticed. There was no telling what she'd do if he said something about - or even showed that he had noticed it slipping away. He certainly didn't want her to blow up on him again. "Well, what's.. making you feel bad? I don't see how you can't know.." Did her head hurt, was her stomach upset? He was confused.
"I dun kno!!" The girl sighed, almost sobbed again, then put her face directly into his chest. She breathed there for a moment, muffled by his fur and getting him rather damp in the process. "I jus' wok oop loike dis!"
He tried not to grimace as he felt her wet face press against his rather dry fur. This was beginning to become a hopeless situation. He wasn't sure how to really make her feel better except to stay with her, and he didn't know what was wrong so he couldn't try to help it at all in any other way. "Well, do you want to go back in the den? We can curl up and go back to sleep if it'll help?" Hell, he didn't know what else to do. When he felt bad, he just went to sleep until he felt better.
"Whill... whill ye sing ta me?"
He quirked an eyebrow at her words, considering it for a moment. Hell, if it'd cheer her up, why not? "I'm afraid I'm not very good at singing, but if thats what you want, I'll try my best."
"O-okay.." She nodded and scrubbed her eyes clean again. A sudden smile was offered to him. "OI'd loik dat."
He smiled softly at her then, glad that he could finally do something to make her feel at least a little better. He stood slowly, nudging her shoulder with his nose, "come on then." He turned, starting for the ledge that led into the cave, then paused and looked back to wait for her.
Shetani got up and followed him towards the cave. She leaned on him a little, feeling a little better for his help. It scared her that she was acting like this.. but didn't seem to be able to stop it. Little did she know, this was only the beginning.
