Quote: Disney announces peripheral-free 'Ultimate Band' for Wii, DS 31 Comments by Kyle Orland Feb 27th 2008 3:00PM Filed under: Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, Rhythm Sure, you love Rock Band, but shelling out the $170 for the requisite game and peripherals isn't even an option if you're a Wii or DS owner. Enter Disney Interactive, who think they can bring peripheral-free rhythm gaming to Nintendo systems with Ultimate Band. No, the Fall Line Studios-developed game won't feature Mickey, Donald or other familiar characters (unlike some other Disney-fied rhythm games) but it will feature a "deep song list, dynamic venues, and customizable characters" according to the press release. The Wii version will let players use the Wii remote and Nunchuk to play drums, guitars and "front man" while the DS version will also let players "create their own original songs ... and apply creative mixing effects." The portable version will also include support for Disney's DGamer online social network. Look for both versions by the holidays. ...I have no words for this.

Screw Disney. First Kimba the White Lion, then 1001 Arabian nights, then NiGHTS, then EBA, and now Rock Band. How many great things are you going to corrupt and then advertise? I applaud anyone who can figure out how I got that list.

I absolutely love Disney with the biggest passion (I watch and own Classic Disney live action and animated movies and shorts).
I don't think this is a good idea though...
I have a list of things I want them to release on DVD first.. xD

MMM. I really hate Disney, especially their games. I'd fear that I was trolling if you guys didn't also dislike this idea. I wonder what they think they're doing. confused Disney: *throws dart at guy* You! You're making a game! Bleeding guy: A rythm game that takes time and thought to develop and will use peripherals to enhance the experience? Disney: you're fired. *throws another dart* Bleeding guy 2: a cheap a** rythm game with no peripherals and a gazillion dollar advertising campaign? Disney: you have earned this first aid kit.

Disney is overrated.
They were good in the olden days.
Sequel after sequel, lame television programming, bad video games, and the like make me want to puke.
I wish Disney still made good s**t.

Ace Paladin Disney Channel is overrated.
They were good in the olden days.
Sequel after sequel, lame television programming, bad video games, and the like make me want to puke.
I wish Disney still made good s**t. Fix'd. Disney as a whole isn't overrated. Just aspects of it is such as Disney Channel and many video games they have made. The likes of High School Musical and Hannah Montana easily put the channel into the overrated category. Good shows are hard to find on there anymore. (Yes there were good shows on there IMO) So, they basically screwed up the Disney Channel, they only had a couple of good video games (2 SNES games I have are two of them) and I wish they would stop making pointless sequels (Like Cinderella 2 and 3) and make brand new original animated films. (They are working on one "Rapunzel." It originally was going to be a modern day version of it and that would have been ******** up IMO. It looks like they might have gone back on that idea. ) I also wish they would stop making the computer animated movies such as Finding Nemo, Chicken Little, etc. I think it's overdone. Toy Story, A Bug's Life and Finding Nemo were good but enough is enough. Yes Disney Channel was good at one time (IMO and others) It's been going down the tubes since Lizzy McGuire first made it's debut. Those who didn't like Disney Channel at all wouldn't agree with me on that though. Look at the animated films of the 90s (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Pocahontas, etc) compared to this decade (The Emperor's New Groove, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Lilo & Stitch, Treasure Planet, Brother Bear, etc) There's no comparison. (I have high hopes for 'The Princess and the Frog' and 'Rapunzel.') So I wouldn't say Disney as a whole is overrated. I would say the current Disney Channel and many of their video games are.

I agree with the decades, the older you go, the better the films go. But you gotta admit, 99.9999% of Disney's great movies are just rehashings of foreign fairy tales.
You can't just say it's the channel when the videogames, board games, merchandise, movies, etc have gone down the drain.
The only redeming value Disney has now is its work with Studio Ghibli, IMHO.
Which, unlike most of Disney's work now, has a lot of work, quality, and time put into it.

It would have a better chance of Working if Disney wasn't TOTALLY behind it.
The trigonometry required for such things, you'd need Steven Hawking to get it right....
