Update: The deadline to enter is now officially March 8th!

[03/05/08] Update: To all of those who have yet to send me their teams, March 8th is your last day to send me the info on your team and failure to do so will mean your removal from the tournament roster. The first round matches will be posted on March 9th so I hope everyone is geared up and prepared to battle.

[03/08/08] Update: I hope everyone is ready to battle as the first round matches will be posted sometime tonight after midnight (Central Standard Time) whenever I get home and online. For those still seeking to enter last minute entries and team approvals, please sure to read and double check the rules and your teams and send me a PM containing all the desired info. You have until I post the first round match-ups to send me that info, so please do your best to meet this last and final deadline. To everyone else, I wish you all the best of luck in the first round!

[03/09/08] Update: Round 1 of the Little Cup tourney has begun! You all have until March 16th to contact your opponent and schedule a time to battle with that person. Please be sure both trainers confirm the victor of the bout. Best of luck to you all!

Welcome to the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Elite's Little Cup Tournament! The idea for this tournament was originally concieved by Queen Melethia Dagon, but when it was later abandoned, i've taken it upon myself to take a second stab at making tournament idea finally become a reality. If you'd like to be a part of it, just post your friend-code here and PM me the stats on which 3 pokemon you will be entering into the tournament (Please include: Nature, Moveset, Ability and Stats for all 3 pokemon). There is limited space (Max Contestants: 16), so if your interested in entering, join immediately!

When enough members are gathered, the tournament will begin.

RULES

Theme: Little Cup

* Single-elimination.

* You must only use level 5 Pokémon.

* 3 vs 3, Free Battle (single)

* Only first-form Pokémon capable of evolving are eligible (ie: Phione, Pichu, Torchic, Munchlax)

* Banned moves: Dragon Rage (always deals 40 damage), Sonicboom (always deals 20 damage)

* Each round will last 1 week (12 days) max.

General Rules

1. If you used a cheating device like AR, CB, or GS to hack in fake Pokémon, max stats, etc. then please do not scam us and enter this tournament. This is only open to honest trainers with official teams. If you can't find shinies and your friends hack them for you and trade them to you, don't enter. If you don't feel confident about your team, just don't enter. Play fair. Trust in your own abilities.

2. Please do not disconnect from the match and make up a bogus excuse to cover it up. Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal. If not, just don't enter.

3. Voice chat must be turned off.

4. No shiny Pokémon may be used.

5. You may not change your team at all throughout the tournament.

Clauses in Effect:

* Species Clause: All of your Pokémon must be different

* Sleep Clause: You can only put 1 of your opponent's Pokémon to sleep

* Self-KO Clause: Your Pokémon cannot use moves like Explosion or Self-Destruct to win if it's the only Pokémon remaining on your team. The same applies for Perish Song.

* Item Clause: Each Pokémon on your team must hold a different item. (Leftovers included.)

* Evasion Clause: Moves like Double Team and Minimize are banned from being used. Brightpowder may also not be used.

Notes: Those were the standard clauses back in Stadium 2 for N64. I pretty much copied the rules verbatum. If you use Shroomish and it's hit with a physical move, it's trait 'Effect Spore' can cause things like Paralysis or Sleep on the foe. That's out of your control so it won't disqualify you.

Well I'm glad you are taking my idea and prefecting it. I do have a thing aganst freeze clause. You can't control ANY of the moves that freeze. I call that a clause that isn't nessary.

I had not researched all the moves pertaining to the freeze clause and as noted, I pretty much copied the rules verbatum. Now looking at the ice moves, you are right. The clause doesn't need to be included.
