(( This is a timeskip rp, so Zoo and Grey can have some quality time rping their soquili as foals XD. So most of this happened before they are what they are now/will be as adults of course)) Ref: Dietrich as a foal There was something perfectly hideous about this landscape. Which was strange, since it was covered in a flat layer of snow.
That was the problem, Dietrich decided, this snow, this entire place, was too flat and boring. The young colt always dreamed he would do something fantastical and wondrous, and to be put in such a drab landscape, it was like putting a butterfly in a dustbin.
And so, he wandered around for quite some time, attempting to make himself significant, hooves stamping in the snow. Boring boring boring boring.
He was bored. And all his creativity and expression and power and charm, it really, was wasted.

Raphe simply adored the frozen scenery, the soft white snow had always been a wonderful accent for his white and silver coat. Mastering those delicate steps that kept him from slogging through the snow had been well worth the practice, because now he could daintily trot around with his head up instead of looking down. When he was older, it would be the perfect pose to allow what would hopefully be a long, luxurious mane to billow out behind him as he ran.
The little unicorn was admiring the way the world glittered when the sun came out from behind the clouds, and also how much his own coat brightened, when something caught his eye. It would have been impossible to miss someone so dark against the white of the world.
Oblivious to the mood causing the dark foal's aimless stomping, Raphe smiled and gracefully trotted over to approach the stranger.

Perhaps Dietrich had been stomping in the snow for just a bit too long, for he could have sworn it was moving. No wait, that just wasn't right.
What gave it away was the difference in texture, the sun instead of glaring painfully off the snow glimmered palely off this other's coat. Dietrich squinted; indeed it seemed like another colt was pacing towards him.
A couple of emotions ran through him at this point, the first one being annoyance (couldn't the other see he was bored?) and the second twinge of jealousy. It just wasn't -right-, how good the other colt looked, gracefully blending into their surroundings. He felt strangely out of place.
But, Dietrich had always been told he was -special- and so, he held his head up high, self-satisfied, and as egotistical as always. He looked at the other, feigning boredom, trying to smother his jealousy. "Oh, hello." A half-smouldered yawn. "It's a pity you came, stranger, on such a -drab- occasion."

Raphe slowed and came to a halt in front of the other colt, sensing something unusual about how the meeting was progressing. It wasn't at all like the fillies he had met. They generally seemed happy to see him, but this one didn't seem to care. It also struck Raphe how different this foal's posture was from his own, it radiated a prideful, superior aura that the unicorn had never possessed.
"Perhaps the occasion will be less drab with some company," Raphe said, trying to lighten up the situation a bit with a smile.
