November smiled blissfully at her babies playing with each other outside the teepee. She felt so blessed to have them as a part of her life. Alyna was so playful and excitable, so much like her father. Alyna looked and acted so much like her father. November sighed softly. Alyna did get into too much trouble though, she was always running off by herself. November had had to give Lykaina the task of keeping up with the little foal, as it was too big of a job for November alone. Lyka did her very best to keep Alyna out of trouble, but even then Alyna managed to run off sometimes.Alyna pranced around her brother. "Hey, Cozan? Guess what?" Alyna trotted up behind him and nudged him with her nose. "You're it!" Giggling happily, Alyna ran towards the willow trees, trying to outrun her brother. Lykaina, curled into a ball next to November, snuggled up to her side and fell asleep, knowing that if Alyna tried to run off again, November would wake her.

It was an exciting time for Spotty and November. Their baskets had just opened, and out came a brown colt and a spotted filly. Just as their baskets had shown, each of them resembled one of their parents more. Cozen was brown like November and Alyna was white and spotted like he was. The two were so full of energy, even though they had just arrived. Spotty sat with November and watched them. He had finally got Cozen away to explore on his own. The blue-eyed colt had been following his father around all day, asking question after question about anything around them. "Just look at those two..." Spotty said with a smile."What?" Cozen said, caught off-guard, "No fair! I wasn't ready!" The brown colt ran after his sister. He was still a bit clumsy and couldn't run as fast as he wanted to.

November nuzzled her mate, glad for his presence as always. "They remind me so much of us, it's scary." she said, laughing. They're so energetic...I wonder if we'll be able to keep up with them." November smiled happily, glad that the children were bonding with each other.
Alyna laughed happily, feeling the wind race through her rainbow-colored mane. Alyna had lost most of her clumsiness by frequently running off to explore. However, she still tripped over her own feet as she ran into the trees, hiding close to the trunk, the new leaves of the willow tree concealing her from view. What she didn't realize was that her rainbow-colored tail peeked out from underneath the branches of the tree, plainly visible in the light.

Spotty laid his over November's neck. "I think I'll be able to keep up with them after a nap," he hinted with a smile. The newly arrived foals had already taken a lot of energy out of the stallion and he was glad to have November to lean on.
Cozen continued after his spotted sister. Unlike himself, she had brighter colors on her hair that were easily seen amoung the natural surroundings. His brown would blend in much better with the many trees. He could clearly see her small tail sticking out from behind a tree. "Where are you Aly?" he pretended not to know while slowly walking towards where she was hiding.

"A nap sounds lovely...I'm sure we can leave the two foals in Lyka's care for a little while at least. I mean, how much trouble could they get up to?" November yawned. She didn't know that being a mom would be so tiring. "Lyka," she said, addressing the brown and white wolf at her feet, "would you watch the children for a while so we can get some rest?"
Lyka yawned and sat up, stretching out her paws before answering. "Sure. After all, that's why I was brought here." she said, smiling wryly. "I won't let 'em get into too much trouble." Lyka bounded off towards the two foals.
Alyna giggled as she heard Cozen's voice. She stayed as quiet as she could, thinking that she was completely hidden from view.

"I'm sure they'll be fine," Spotty reassured November, "Especially with Lyka watching over them." The two had been busy since the foals arrived and deserved some time to rest. It was a warmer day, so Spotty decided that they should stay outside to rest. "It's such a nice day, let's just relax right here."
Cozen was at the tree now and Alyna was still oblivious to the fact. She was right where he wanted her. Suddenly, Cozen jumped around the tree and nudged the filly with his nose. "Gotcha!" he yelled before running off in the opposite direction.

November sighed, and lay her head on his side. "It is a nice day, isn't it. It would be lovely to relax here, I think." She closed her eyes sleepily. "And the foals will be okay if Lyka's there..." November broke off as she drifted off to sleep.
Lyka watched the foals from a distance, ready to intervene if necessary.
Alyna yelped when Cozen nudged her. "Hey! How'd you find me so fast?" she asked, bewildered, as she jumped on to her feet. Alyna ran off after Cozen, sprinting as fast as she could in an attempt to catch up with him.

Spotty watched November as she drifted off to sleep. She always looked so peaceful. Before the stallion knew it, he was drifting off to sleep as well. He laid his head on the mare's brown back and closes his eyes.
Cozen laughed as Alyna chased after him. "You stick out like a sore thumb sis!" he yelled back as he kept running. Over the sound of his small hooves, Cozen heard the distintive sound of running water. From this he knew a stream was nearby and headed off in the direction of the sound.

November slept, perfectly happy and content. She always felt safe and secure when she was around Spotty.
Alyna raced after Cozen. "Do not!" she yelled, refusing to admit that her rainbow-colored mane gave her away every time. She'd blend into the environment better in the spring, when there was more color, and Cozen would stick out more than she.

Spotty slept peacefully, happy to have Lyka to watch over the foals. Because of the wolf, he was able to relax and know that Alyna and Cozen would be safe. This was a much needed rest, for Spotty had been up and about since the two popped out of their baskets.
Cozen continued along, running as fast as his small hooves would allow. Up ahead he could see a small stream. The water was no more than a foot deep, but the area around it was wet and slippery. The colt hoped to lose his sister here.

Alyna raced after her brother, slowly gaining on him. At least, she was until they reached the stream. Realizing that this place wasn't good for running, but not willing to slow down, she continued running as fast as she could. That is, until she slipped, falling in the stream, and getting drenched with cold water as it splashed up around her. "Brrrr." she said, her teeth chattering as she got up, and started searching for her brother. She had lost sight of him in the trees when she fell.
Lyka bounded after the foals, searching for a place where she could see both of them clearly. She found such a place, high on a cliff overlooking the forest. Best of all, the cliff had a small trail going down into the forest floor. It was too steep for the foals to climb, but with her small, padded paws she could manage it with ease.

Just like Cozen had thought, she stream really slowed down Alyna. But the colt was surprised when she slipped and fell into the water. Cozen was hoping to slow her down or have her slip a little, at the most. He didn't think that she would fall all the way into the water. Knowing he would get in trouble if he didn't go back, Cozen slowly made his way back to where Alyna stood frozen. "Sis?" he started, "Are you ok?"

Alyna grinned at him. "N-never b-b-b-better!" she said bravely, shivering a bit with cold. "M-maybe we c-could go home and let me g-g-get dried off, though?" she asked, knowing that if she didn't dry off, she'd get sick.
Lyka bounded over to the two foals. "Alyna, you do need to go dry yourself off, or else you'll catch cold." Lyka nodded solemnly. "Cozen, that means you're coming too. I can't leave you out here by your lonesome, you're parents would murder me."

Cozen nodded in agreement. He didn't want Alyna to get a cold, then he would have no one to play with! "I understand Lyka," he said to the wolf as he started walking back to where their parents slept. Suddenly, feeling a rush of brotherly responsibility, Cozen got closer until his side was touching Alyna's. "Warmth in numbers?"

Alyna leaned into her brother, warmed a little by his touch. "Oh, but I'm making you cold." She said softly, noticing that he was getting wet from her sodden coat. Nevertheless, she nuzzled him, grateful of his warmth.
Lyka grinned. "Atta boy." Lyka said affectionately, before leading the two foals to where their parents lay sleeping. "I hate to wake them, but this is awfully important." she said, before gently nudging the two Soquili. "November, Spotty. Alyna fell in a creek and needs to get dried off..." Noticing Alyna standing there, Lyka chided, "Missy, you'd better get in that teepee so you can warm up!"
November yawned when Lyka woke her. As Alyna entered the warm teepee, November stood up and followed her. "Thank you Lyka. I'll go help her dry off." November rushed off into the teepee to help her daughter, for she knew that Alyna would get sick if she wasn't cared for properly.
