It's this week's sabbath readings from the Torah and Haftorah.
Vayachel (Exodus 35:1 - 38:20 & Kings I 7:40-50)
In this thread I hope those in the forum will read the sections on friday night for a discussion over the week.

If it's this week's Shabbat readings, we should've read them on Sunday so we could discuss them all this week. Perhaps we ought to start this coming Saturday night with next week's parasha, Parashat P'kudei (Exodus 38:21-40:3 cool and its Haftarah portion (II Kings 11:17-12:17). The Shabbat reading doesn't introduce the parasha, but rather concludes the study of that parasha for the week.

I thought Vayachel was the portion for Feb 29th March 1st.
Maybe I'm off a week.

No, you're right. But we'll be reading the text on the 1st of March and then discussing it in the upcoming week, by your plan, which doesn't make any sense. What we ought to do is, Saturday night (1 March), start reading parashat P'kudei, then discuss it during next week so that by the time next Shabbat rolls around, we know what's going on in synagogue (if we go to synagogue).
Or did you mean we should LOG IN on Friday night? Using our computers, which operate by electricity?

I meant that we read the torah portions on friday night while in synagogue or at home, meditate on it saturday, discuss throughout week until following friday.

I get that. What I'm saying is that the entire Jewish world started studying parashat Vayak'hel LAST Saturday night. If we start studying that one this coming Friday, we're six days behind the rest of the world.
I would instead suggest starting this coming Saturday night by reading parashat P'kudei and discussing it throughout the week, so that when it's read on the next Shabbat (the 8th), we're all in tune with it already. Just like they do in every cheder or yeshiva.
