Dreams, it was always dreams, this dream woke him from the world of the deepest sleeps. His mind tourmented him and he anxiously awoke with a start. he had never felt so wrestless. His mother said she and his father always felt a feeling of wrestlessness, the need to be away in to the world. It was a strange feling and his heart fluttered in his chest at what he had just seen.

He had to go. Gertting to his footpaws the slender young male slipped through the long brittle grass. He had started taking to finding his own place to sleep, away from his family, away from his parents and grandparents. He needed time to think, to plan, to dream. It had been almost a week since he had seen the first dream.

The dream lead him away from the things he knew, lead him far away from the pridelands where a shimmering light shone in his eyes and a voice called his name. His dreams hardly ever spoke to him, they lead him to places but to say his name. The first time it had happened it frightened him.

Now, after a week of the dream taking him accross the rogue lands and through many perils he had a map ingrained in to his brain and he could no longer lay here and wait.

Instinct told him his mother would be alone by the pool, bathing in the sticky mud which the antilope and other prey beasts had curned up in their daily comeings and goings between the green lands and the watering hole.

Taking a deep breath he passed through the long grass and into view "Mother." he whispered his voice quiet and airy, as always, his watery green eyes fixed upon the large lioness.

Kinamasi's deep, ruby red eyes were closed, she was dreaming herself, though her dreams were of the world ahead of her. The world that she so desperately wanted to explore. With the birth of her cubs the dark khaki lioness had, had to remain still for so long. She knew that her mate hated it as much as she did, but for the sake of her babes she had stayed still.

Having been raised in the swamps the red eyed lady still loved the mud and she was laying quite happily with the mud lapping around her shoulders. She could dream and she knew soon she would once again be able to travel, to see the world she so desperately wanted to see.

She was pulled from her reverie by her sons voice. He was the only one whom spoke in whispered tones, mysteriious tones almost. She smiled and looked up at her youngest son looking in to those watery green eyes. She could never tell what he was thinking, those eyes his so much emotion from the world so glassy and mysterious were they.

She knew of course that her youngest son and daughter were special. It was hard for a mother not to notice. "Abiona." She smiled standing fromthe mud and sloshing through it to greet him. She lapped behind his ears affectionately and smiled. "you seem worried my son, what is it?" Despite those secretive eyes the lioness could tell that he was tence. She smiled softly and waited for him to speak, he clearly had something important to say.

Abiona took a deep breath and looked up at his mother. She was a big female he knew that and he also knew how kindly she was, how sweet and sensitive to the world around her. That all she wished for was to be treated like everyone else despite having the birth defect which had turned her foreleg inwards.

Taking a deep breath Abiona looked up at his mother quietly his watery green eyes full of love for her. "I have to go mother. Theres something, something out there calling to me." he looked up at his mother and quietly waited for her reaction to his news. She would want an explination and he was ready with one, but first, he would wait.

Kinamasi's smile turned in to a slight frown at her sons words. "Go? Go where Aiona?" She tilted her head a little watching her youngst son with curious blazing eyes her dark lips pursed slightly. Had her youngest child already gained the lust to wander?

Clearing her throat she looked to her child and sighed. "Where will you go Abiona? I really feel you are a little young to go wandering on your own." She paused her brow creased, but was he a little young? he was already sprouting towards adolecence he was not a baby any more. he needed his independance, but she needed to know where he was heading.

Abiona took a deep breath. He was about to tell his mother something he had kept a secret, though he had the feeling that perhaps she knew at least a little. "Mother, I have dreams, I have strange dreams and they always lead me to places. They lead me away from the family to places I don't know but that I need to know of." He paused and whetted his lips "I have been having a dream for days now, the same dream over and over again, leading me to some where far away. To a place I am needed." He turned his gaze to the ground. "I need to go mother, I need to go now, the map is set in my mind and I cannot sleep another night with that dream whisking through my mind. I couldn't go, I couldn't without saying good bye to you though."

The young lion lifted his head, his eyes looking even more watery than usual tears rolling down his dark muddy brown cheeks. "I love you mother but my way lies else where. I need to go. I need to."

Kinamasi listened carefully. Dreams? Dreams that lead him places? She had heard of people like her son, seers, those whom could see the future, the past, and the present in differnt, strange ways.

Taking a deep breath the young lioness leaned down and groomed her sons tears away. "Don't cry Abiona. I understand. Though I have never had such dreams, I still have always dreamed of the world, a world I will eventually see all of." She smiled softly. "If you must go, I beleive you and I give you my blessing my darling. Go well and take care of yourself." She whispers wrapping her neck around his.

She allowed a tear to roll forom her eyes, knowing she was letting her youngest son go in to the unknown, but she knew she could not stop him. This was something he elt so passionate about, she knew if she tried she woudl only hurt him.

Abiona lifted his head qiping his eyes upon his mothers fur he sat for a long moment, silent against her chest, breathing in the scent of her body. he loved his mother and he knew he hadn't said it to her nearly enough in his short life. he had always distanced himself from his family. He hadn't meant to really, but his dreams always lead him away from their love, away from their kind words.

"I'v always loved you mother, you know that right?" He whispers looking up to gaze in to her deep ruby red eyes, his own glassy green ones quietly questioning.

"Abiona." The khaki lioness cuchkled softly and groomed his face lovingly. "Of course I know that my little love. I have always loved you all equally, no matter what you think. You have always been so independant of your brothers though. You know, if you ever need me, i will be there for you. I will always return here to see your grand mother so no matter what I will return and if you wish to see me, I will be here" She whispers nuzzling his cheek softly.

The young male smiled lightly his watery green eyes fixed upon his large mother. She was beautiful to him and always would be, she was his mother after all. "I'll be going at first light tomorrow mother. Will you say farewell to the rest of the family for me?" He smiled wistfully those glassy green eyes capturing his mothers reflection and storing it forever more in his mind. he knew this would be the last time he would ever see her. He was going to a ploace he somehow knew he would never want to leave.

Kinamasi smiled and gave her son a gentle nod. She wouldn't stop him going, she had no wish to. he had to go some where and she knew it.

A soft sigh rolled over her lips and she groomed his ears kissing his face with her rough tongue. "I will my son. Good bye my little love and take care of yourself okay?"

Abiona pulled slowly away from his mother, parting from her embrace, leaving a lick upon her nose and a smile on his own lips. "I'll miss you mother." He whispers stepping away from her and padding off in to the setting sun. he would sleep alone tonight, away from his family then at dawns first light he would vanish in to the sunrise, to travel to a place his dreams called him to.

Kinamasi held to her youngest son for the longest time only releasing him when he pulled away. Smiling softly she let a nod tilt her head. "Good bye little one." She breathes sitting still until he vanished on to the horizon.

Lifting a paw she wiped away the tears that rolled downher cheeks. It was his choice to leave but she would miss her mysterious son. she hoped fervently that he would be safe in the world.

Letting a sigh roll over her lips she turned for the family den. She would tell the family in the morning that Abiona had left. She would miss him.
