Hidalgo felt much better now. He had scraped his winter coat off on many trees, and had rolled it off. At the moment, he was covered in dust as he had just gotten up from a bath. This was life. And now that he didn't have the heavy winter coat to contend with, he felt lighter on his feet, though he also felt rather thin. The winter had not been nice to him, so he had come out a little thin this year. But he was no worse for wear.
Now it was time to feast, and he headed out to graze on the grass that now was a beautiful spring green, and he knew very good tasting. Sometimes he wished that this would never end, the spring time. Things always tasted better, with the spring new growth taste.

 Glittering silver irises surveyed the dark landscape as the ebon' mare made her way across a grassy field, cloven hooves making no sound as they tread the dirt path she had come to know so well in these past few weeks. Masked features were set in their normal stoic facade, keeping her gaze low as she ventured through the tall weeds. It had been some time since she'd had company- although she didn't mind her solitude at most times. Lately, however, the slight twinge of loneliness was beginning to invade her thoughts, despite the loner lifestyle she'd led up until this point.
Sparkling leathery wings folded at her sides as she came to a halt, serene gaze lifting to settle upon the form of an unfamiliar male with a slight glimmer of curiosity. She said nothing, however, wary of whether or not he would be afraid of her... hostile attributes. Most soquili did not welcome the appearance of a kalona, save for a select few whom Amaya considered a companion. Ebony ears twitched forwards as her weight shifted uneasily, simply waiting for this new stallion to take notice of her presence.

Hidalgo felt a pair of eyes watching him, and raised his head from the tender sprigs of grass to find a dark mare watching him. And not just a dark mare, a dark mare with horns and membrane wings. It was a kalona, at least that's what he thought that they were called. he had only seen one or two from a distance; never having to engage them in conversation or battle, and they never seemed interested in engaging him as well. So he did not know what to expect from this new breed of Soquili that had come around when he had been out journeying.
He chewed slowly and thoughtfully on the grass he had, watching her. There were some elements on her he recognized though. The silver unicorn horn that spiraled from the middle of her ebony forhead, and the dark unicorn tale tipped with a silver tuft. She seemed to be accented in silver, which made her an unusual specimen in his eyes, but also very beautiful. He hoped that the rumors he had heard about her kind were just that; rumors. Though, if rumors were true, how was it that she was born; a product of the good and the bad. He'd heard Kalona's were fierce and very mean; nay evil. While unicorns where pure creatures, though he had met some mean tempered and hostile ones in his day as well. But if all Kalona were as such, how did a creature of both parents emerge. Rumors were a strange thing to hear, and not always wise to listen to.
He finished the grass that he had been chewing on, and then decided that he was going to have to make the first move, and she was apparently waiting on him. He turned fully to face her and nodded pleasantly to her.
Hello there, he hailed. It's a pleasant day outside.
