Bluu cackled to herself as she shredded what was left of the hide of a kill she'd made a few hours ago. After eating what she could, she torn free the skin of it and drug it back with her to the graveyard to serve as her new toy. It flopped nicely and it smelled great, plus she could lick it to get a lingering taste of her last meal.
After dragging it through the dirt and shaking it around, she'd managed to snag it on a broke bone. After a while of tugging to try and free it, getting more and more frustrated, she finally got an idea and grinned wildly. It was then she started to tug till it ripped, letting it go to grab another piece and tug that till it ripped to. She laughed as she reduced the hide to ribbons, enjoying the way it gave way under her sharp fangs.
Her laughter got louder as she ripped pieces from it and tossed them aside, the sound rippling among and ringing from the bones around her.

Ahsante had been minding his own buisness, that was what he normally did anyway. He couldn't care a less most of the time about anyone else in the pack and had become something of a loner. He would find bones with bits of meat on and sit down shreading it off for hours, just to waste time. He found life to be somewhat boring and even with the slave about, no he wasn't really interested in her either.
Maybe it was the laughter that caught his attention? He wasn't sure but something did and it hadn't taken him long to find the source of the laughter. A blue hyena. She was different. He had seen blue hyenas before but not one like this. She was unique to say the least.
He had respect for females and so, picking up another bone he laid down to start shreading it. If she wanted to talk to him, she would. At the moment she seemed more interesting in laughing.

The female never even noticed the gray male as he took up a position nearby, too absorbed in her play. Not like she had anything to worry about here, so she didn't bother to pay too close attention to her surroundings.
Only when the hide was in tiny bits too small to shred further did she come back to the world, standing firm on all four paws and panting heavily. Her pink tongue lolled from her mouth in a silly expression, but Bluu hardly cared. Her eyes snapped about when she heard the snap of crushed bone and she perked her ears when she saw another hyena nearby. Well! This was someone new.
"Hello!" She called out to him, her little white tail wagging with excitement. "Who are you? My name's Bluu." She moved with an unconscious sort of grace, her paws raising puffs of dust till she stopped at a respectful distance to the male with his bone. "I've never see you around here before, are you part of the pack?"

Ahsante was half watching her and half ignoring her but when he noticed that she had seen him he made sure to concentrate very hard on the bone infront of him.
As she spoke he looked up and nodded in awknowledgement. He never really did much speaking, he was quite a loner and something of a silent one. When he did speak it was normally quite short and to the point.
"I am Ahsante and yes I am part of the pack. Are you?"
He wasn't really bothered if she was or not. He was however surprised somewhat at just how alive she seemed to be. Not in a bad way of course but she just seemed so, well, happy and for a hyena he found it a little odd.

Bluu was quite an odd-ball, that was for sure. She grinned as she lowered her head, ears perked up in a friendly sort of way. His stand-offishness really didn't seem to bother her and her smile never waivered.
"Nah, not me. I'm one of those... wanderers. I ain't the settling down type." She cackled as she said it, the sound bright and harsh. "Everything in this place, even in the pack, is so stuffy and boring... I love fun too much. Fun and color... and their ain't much color to be found in this place." The female's head tilted, her small white tail wagging happily against her strong hind-quarters.
"Ahsante... that's a nice name. It got a special meaning to it? Betcha can guess what mine means." She cackled again, sitting back to plop her behind in the dust, raising a little cloud that settled quickly.

Ahsante was well somewhat surprised by how nice she was being. He had come across few nice females in his lifetime and so she was something that was for sure.
"Fair enough, it is rather stuffy and boring here but then most wouldn't really care much. It is our land and we seem to be at constant war with lions, its good for entertainment." He was still confused over the way she was acting, it was just well, strange.
"Blue I guess. My name doesn't mean anything interesting." Why his mother had litterally named him thanks he wasn't quite sure but then again his mother had a screw loose in her head.

The female cackled delightedly at his guess.
"Yes! Bluu it is, and it is Blue." She laughed as she rocked, her ears flopping against her head. He really was amusing and she was thuroughly enjoying their conversation. The part about the lions though sobered her up and she regarded him with a squint, as though trying to comprehend what he was saying.
"Why on the gods' green earth would you be at war with lions, eh? You got your land, they got theirs, what's the problem? Too much bother to be fighting all the time... takes away from the better things in life, like playing and eating and making pups." She burst out in laughter again at the joke she made, her little white tail wagging madly behind her in the dirt.
"That's why I'm not part of that pack, or any pack. Too many rules, too many others telling you want to do and how to think." She chuckled. Really, she was a bad influence on this pack's members. With her open-minded, fun-loving views, she just might corupt a few to her way of thinking. But to her opinion, it would be all to the better for this pack to lighten up a little.

He shook his head.
"I keep out the way, I don't abide by any rules I just live here. As long as I avoid Mafa there is rarely any issues." It was true he was a loner in a pack and that was just how he liked it. It made his life more interesting and much more worth living.
"Why are you so happy anyway?" It made no sense in his head for a hyena to be so happy, it was just well, weird.

Bluu was draw up short by the question from the male, blinking at him for a few moments before she burst out in laughter. She rocked on her paws as she cackled, the sound ear-splitting and grating on the nerves.
"Why am I so happy? Why shouldn't I be happy, eh? I'm not hungry or tired or hurt. I've got everything I need and want. What's there to be UN-happy about?" She cackled, her ears flopping forward as her eyes shone with mirth.
"Is life really that bad, that you can't be just... happy? Eh? Life's too short... who'd want to spend it being grumpy?" She shook with laughter as she rose up to pace around the male, reaching to give him a small poke with her paw. "Come on now... Are you really grumpy like this all the time? How boring life must be for you. You should come with me! I'll show you a good time and show you how good life is. I bet you won't be so grumpy then."

"You clearly haven't met Mafa." Was his only reply to the happy statement. He had no reason to be happy, she seemed to do nothing but enjoy seeing the pain of others. He kept out his way and made sure to hide when he was happy just in case something happened and Mafa saw. He wasn't quite sure how she would react to a happy hyena and in all honesty he didn't want to find out.
"Show me a good time?" Okay he was slightly curious. "How?" He wanted to see what the female would think of. He didn't expect much after all, she was female!

Feeling more comfortable now with the male, Bluu flopped down on her rump by his side, tilting her head back as she thought.
"Well, we can play a game, for one. Games are always fun. We can get out of the graveyard for a bit, go find somewhere pretty to be. The lands all around the graveyard are so lush, there are lots of little retreats where we could go and just... enjoy being out of this dank place?" She chuckled softly as her tail wagged. "We can talk some more, though that's not as fun. Oh! We can tell stories too! I know a few and I'm not half bad at telling them, and I'm sure you can think of a few I've never heard of to tell me."
The female grinned as she rocked herself gently back and forth, a bundle of energy in a relaxed state. She was loose enough now, but at any moment she could be flying up and running like mad, the signs of it written in every line of her form. Her good nature and energy was boundless, it seemed.

Ahsante just stared at her. Oh this is a strange thing.
"Go on then, tell me some stories!" He was curious, after all he was boring quickly and though she wasn't really that bad she was still female and Ahsante had to remember this. He couldn't allow himself to like a female now, wouldn't that be just stupid!

Bluu's rocking stopped as he asked her to tell him a story, frowning gently in thought. After a moment she shook her head, her ears flopping against her head.
"I'll tell you a story if you like, but... not here." She grinned as her eyes glinted and she wagged her tail, her expression sly. "This place is too dreery... if you want a story, you'll have to come with me, somewhere more colorful. Can't do a story justice without the right setting!"
The female laughed as she jumped to her feet and shook herself all over, shedding a cloud of dust. "What do you say then, Ahsante? Come with me? You're as gray as this place is, and even if its not your thing in the end, I wanna show you what life is like in color!" She chuckled as she nodded encouragingly.

"Fine I will come." Why he was agreeing to this he didn't know, probably because he just couldn't be bothered to argue with her and sometimes it was easier to just go along with things.
"Lead the way then."

Bluu laughed as she shook her head and turned, jumping into movement. She loped leisurly towards the outer lands, glancing back every so often to see if Ahsante was following. He was such a stuffy hyena... hardly the type she would normally choose to spend her time with, but the female just wasn't the kind to back down from a challenge, and getting him to lighten up was just that.
Her tail flicked side to side in a flirty manner as she loped along, crossing the dusty border and diving into the lush grass beyond. She kept going till the scent of water met them and the sun was blocked by the spreading branches of a great tree. It was a near idealic place, cool in the shade with a rippling, clear stream and green grass all around. The blue female drew deep and released her breath with a sigh, letting go the tension she always seemed to gather when in the graveyard.
Icey blue eyes turned to search for Ahsante, hoping she hadn't left him behind.
