gaaah! my computer is freaking.
here's the story. i'm on this website, and there's a video that features a girl who looks exactly like a friend of mine. and i mean exactly.
so i click on it, and it sends me to a website that looks like youtube, but stupid, stupid, stupid me can't tell that it says "porntube". >.>
so there's a little pop-up window thingie. and since usually youtube pop-ups aren't anything special, i just click ok on it.
a few minutes later, i get this little screen saying "downloading now..."
i freak and click cancel.
but something must have downloaded, because my homepage [which is usually google], is now this:

and i've got this mother popping up every five seconds.

and i have this on the toolbar, and, no matter what i do, i can't take it off [for the record, i use mcafee, not this security toolbar s**t]:

and i keep getting this or similar, telling me to download whatever:

so, i'm running my mcafee scan thingie, but i have zero computer knowledge.
can anybody help me? PLEASE?!

For gods sake DON'T SIGN INTO ANYTHING. DO NOT TYPE YOUR PASSWORDS OUT. This sounds like a keylogger and this is exactly how people get hacked - and worse.
My advice: Those things that your virus scanner are telling you to download are most likely safe. If your virus scanner isn't up to date, it can't protect you properly. If you're frightened, copy the names into a google search engine and make sure they're reputable before downloading them.
Then shut down everything on your computer - browsers, MSN, anything you don't need running. Set your virus scanner to run the most thorough scan it can possibly do. Hit start, and then walk away. When it finds something, let the virus scanner delete it. When it's all done, re-start your computer. Then see if it's gone.
EDIT: I know you don't need me to tell you this now, but in the future, NEVER EVER EVER click on something without checking to see what it is. Doubly don't ever click "ok".

but...it's not my virus scanner telling me. it's some other thing that's telling me to download new stuff.
mcafee usually downloads updates on it's own, or tells you specifically that it's mcafee.
i'm scanning, but a friend just told me that it might not work.
suposedly, his gf got the same thing, and her computer is beyond repair. DDDD :
and, don't worry. i know not to click things. but...i was just more stupid than usual today. >.>

Just incase your computer crashes (*knocks on wood*), you should email all of your files to yourself or something. Or at least the most important ones, y'know?
If it were me, I'd open the "Add or Remove Programs" thing, fiind the toolbar (and whatever else was downloaded) and remove it, then run a virus scan. Annnd maybe update your security.

Unfortunately, that only works if you have system restore turned on. Since Shin-chan said she wasn't very computer savvy, I'm not sure if she would have it on. I don't believe computers come with it turned on, although I might be wrong about that...
@Val -> If she can find it in that list, it's definitely a good option. I use that all the time, lol. She should also go to her start menu and see if a new program file has been implemented. If there is, it will generally give you an option to uninstall it.

The best thing to do is to stop going on the internet for awhile, to prevent anything from being sent to the master of the virus.
Also, if you have blank CD's and CD burners and a spare hard drive, store all your important files onto those things, and F-Disk your main hard drive.
Meaning, completely wipe it out, start fresh, and reinstall Windows through a CD.
That's what I suggest. Hard to kill viruses usually will require massive wipeout...

Rule number one: DON'T PANIC! Just stay calm. -agrees with everyone else- Get YOUR virus scanner to scan for virus, and e-mail yourself your most important files. I would also suggest deleting anything/copying out anything you need, that you don't want someone (who MAY be hacking your computer) to see. And make sure you don't have anything on your computer that if found could be harmful to you in some way. I'm not positive you'd have anything like this on your computer but.. Credit Card Numbers, Passwords to Credit Card/Tax Sites, Anything to do with money, Passwords that someone else need to be having in general. And I'd delete your cookies... or I think that's what it's called... I hope that helped!

But yeah, Shinny. I hope you get it fixed! Viruses are no fun! x_x

I've only had to reformat my computer twice due to viruses, but had to reformat at least 10 times (seriously) from having a really old, outdated computer, and my hardware going to hell.
So, I'm used to backing up all my stuff @_@;

Well, I'm not a computer expert or anything, and I can't really help you here but... One thing I know is that trojans are one of the worst viruses you can get. They are sent out by someone else to collect your information and do bad things to you. sad Another thing I know is that almost the exact same thing happened to one of my older computers. It is now dead. sweatdrop Sorry, that probably doesn't make you feel any better. I had mcafee too, and it kept giving me that trojan alert every few minutes. There was nothing we could do, and eventually got rid of the computer. I think mcafee has some issues, though. You might want to get another kind of virus protection. Norton is very, very excellent. It has been protecting me for a long time now. heart
Now obviously you should NEVER click okay on one of those things, and NEVER download anything unless you trust it. You kinda broke those rules, Shinny. >.< And never have cookies installed, either, like Taka said.
I think what you should do is SAVE all of your important information into a disk or hardrive or whatever, because you might very well lose it.
I would suggest massive wipeout, like Asashina said. That might be the only thing.
Sorry, I guess I really wasn't much help...

well, apparently mcafee has pulled through, because after backing up my files, using my school computers for all homework things and doing a daily scan on my computer, today i got about three or four of these:

and the previously mentioned popups and strange home pages and etc. have gone.

Yaaay! C: So glad that your computer has been saved Shinny. I read the topic last night and got really freaked out because it just sounded scary. D:
Sorry I didn't post, I have no clue when it comes to computers really. I'm technologically challenged. xD
