Walking through the tall green grasses, Cirrus glanced about wondering if there was anybody else around. He was sort of bored and he was kind of expecting a tad more excitement then what he was getting today. He really needed to learn how to entertain himself... Tossing his mane lazily, Cirrus gazed up at the clouds in wonder.

Now that winter was gone, Cirrus had become a lot more active. He really didn't like the cold weather and he liked the feeling of the warm sun on his back and the smell of the flowers in the air. It was all too enjoyable for him... He noticed a few butterflies fluttering around small flowers that had just started to open.

Cirrus continued to walk around the clearing enjoying the good weather. In the back of his mind, he was wondering what his family was up to but he didn't dwell on those thoughts for very long.

Spring, so it was a little more mucky than usual and there were far more bugs and nuisances than the winter time... but who could really hate the spring time? Vieno didn't suppose any horse could, especially ones that loved to prance around in the mild weather like she did. The flowers were in bloom, a beautiful sight, especially right after all the sparkling snow had melted. Other animals were beginning to venture out into the world, the grass was yellow and brownish but definitely beginning to green. The mare couldn't pick out a soul thing that would bring her spirits down in the spring time! Well, except for the fact that the mosquitoes were out already, how bothersome! Either way, that could be overlooked. For now she was going to concentrate on the bright sky above her and warm sun shining down on her palomino coat.

Happy thoughts filling her mind, the mare decided to take off in a full out gallop across the flat area. It felt so nice to have the wind in her hair, the soil beneath her feet as she ran across it, stretching muscles she'd almost forgotten in the winter time. How nice it felt to let herself go like this! She soon whinnied happily and closed her eyes, enjoying the feel of the chilly wind on her face and her mane flying through the air. It was a wonderful day and nothing was going to spoil it!

Trees flashed by her, the brush rustled in the wind, her spirits were soaring as she was. She felt so content, so fulfilled, so completely and totally happy... Of course, running with your eyes closed was never a smart thing to do, because chances are... you're never alone.

Little birds chirped and he couldn't help but admire how pretty they sounded and how free they were. He envied those that could fly but he didn't regret not having wings. He was definitely content as he was and he was enjoying his life from day to day. Cirrus's ears flickered slightly as he heard something nearby but he shrugged it off as just a rabbit or something.

Cirrus continued to walk through the grass rather slowly just taking in the sun and nature's beauty. Raising a brow, the stallion turned to see Vieno running and then he realized that her eyes were closed and he was in the middle of her path. Hesitating slightly, he didn't know if she would open her eyes in time but he just stood there waiting for the inevitable to happen. He doubted that he would be able to step out of harm's way in time. Though, he would rather her run into him then into a tree or something... But he did manage to yell out, "Watch out!"

During those few seconds, Cirrus's mind wandered to past times when another mare had run into him... Why was it that he seemed to attract... running mares and they always seemed to... run into him.

((Sorry my replies suck right now. @_@ I seem a little scatterbrained tonight.))

(( Lmao, nah, the last bit amused me. xDD! My replies aren't so great but.. I'm still a newb! ;; *Excuse* ))

The mare seemed to forget her eyes were closed, even though she'd been running like that for a few minutes now. Safe? Definitely not. It seemed to be an eternity before she'd heard somebody calling a little to loudly for comfort to her.

Eyes flew open, ears flew back and hooves dug into the ground as soon as she realized she wasn't far off from... crashing into somebody! Luckily for her, she stopped quick enough to land only a foot in front of the poor stallion. Too close for comfort for both parties, most definitely. Then, of course after much staring and eventually realizing she was in his face... the dazed mare stepped back and lowered her head, letting her long mane cover her now incredibly embarrassed face. Boy, did she feel in incredibly foolish! She got so caught up with her little running episode she almost trampled a guy! What was she thinking?

"I'm so, so, sorry!" the mare apologized in her soft, musical voice. It was obvious that she was truly sorry and knew she'd done something incredibly stupid. "I-I... need to be... m-more careful!" she mumbled while backing away, feeling so utterly foolish. "Maybe... I should.. g-go..." she continued, knowing she was blubbering as she turned around to leave. What had she done? How was she going to make new friends when she was just going to trample them and leave them there like a flattened pancake? She wasn't, and that was the cold, hard, truth...

Cirrus watched as she continually came closer. He almost wanted to close his eyes so maybe that would lessen the pain when she crashed into him but he couldn't. He wanted to see if she could stop in time. Blinking, it took him a few seconds to realize that she hadn't crashed into him and that they were both in fine condition. The stallion couldn't help but smile sheepishly at her knowing that it was all well his fault because he couldn't seem to move out of the way.

"Oh no! It's fine." He watched her carefully as she backed away from him. He couldn't help but step forward as she moved away. "No, you don't have to go... Unless you want to or are busy..." His voice trailed off at the end of his sentence and he tilted his head rather innocently at her wondering if he was being rude or something. Cirrus didn't want to scare anybody away... He really enjoyed the company of others so he tried to make as many friends as possible.

Just as she was about to leave, Vieno heard the other tell her it was okay and she didn't have to leave. The mare didn't understand, was this stallion just way too nice for his own good or did he really want her to stay? Foolish, that was exactly what she was, flitting around like a little filly! Not that growing up really offered much to look forward to. Now she was being a pessimist, definitely not her regular outlook on life! She needed to just step back and take a deep breath, that'd solve all her problems! So, the mare did just that, took a deep breath, inhaled... exhaled and looked back at the stallion, hoping whatever damage she'd done wasn't too much to be forgiven for.

"No, no, I'm not busy," Vieno admitted, "I'm just a little embarrassed, I suppose..." The mare wasn't sure what to say beyond that, she was obviously in the wrong even though it seemed like the other didn't really mind. Sighing and shaking her head slowly, she smiled a bit, trying to lighten up the mood, "I suppose everyone's a bit of an airhead at times." She didn't really know that but she hoped, she didn't want to be the only one in the world who tripped over other horses from running with their eyes closed.

The damage was done and Vieno needed to move on, she couldn't dwell in her mistakes forever! Shaking her head slowly, her mane and ribbon moved with her head, silken locks moving out of her warm, brown eyes. This stallion didn't seem quite so bad and seemed like a forgiving soul, so maybe... just maybe... all would be forgotten in no time.

Cirrus continued to watch her body language carefully. He had gotten his observant rather optimistic trait from his mother. So he really wasn't too bothered by their almost-accident. "Well, you shouldn't be embarrassed." He nodded in agreement to her comment about being airheads sometimes. The stallion smiled softly at her hoping that he wasn't making her nervous or anything. He always felt that he was sort of intimidating even though there was no reason for him to feel that way. The soquili he met just always seemed... a little shy and it made him feel like it was his fault for them feeling like that.

"So, now that's out of the way. My name is Cirrus." He bowed slightly at her. "And who might I have the pleasure of addressing?" He smiled at her once more after rising from his greeting. Cirrus seemed to be the spitting image of his parents or at least a good mixture of them. He got his stubbornness and steadfast qualities from his father and his optimistic, cheerful nature from his mother. For those who knew his parents, it wasn't difficult to figure out that he was related to them.

Vieno too smiled, the stallion seemed to be very forgiving and kind, this made her relax. She couldn't imagine the amount of times she'd have had to apologize if the one she'd run into had minded. The mare was just grateful that she'd found somebody who was easy to socialize with. To his embarrassment comment she smiled shyly and turned her head away ever so slightly, "I suppose I shouldn't be, but I guess everybody gets shy sometimes... even if it's not in the right situation." She often quickly warmed up to others which quickly abolished the shyness, but there was always that first greeting.

"Cirrus, why that's a wonderful name!" Vieno exclaimed as she gazed at the stallion and smiled, "I'm Vieno, and very pleased to meet you, Cirrus!" Now that the embarrassing meeting was pushed off to the side, Vieno didn't feel quite so bad. As usual she was warming up to the other and she felt they could even perhaps be friends. Or, was she rushing ahead of herself like she normally did? Vieno always got over excited when the thought of friends entered her mind. Just like an eager puppy, ready to please and happy to greet, that was Vieno's mindset.

The wind blew by, making the mare smile further and look to the sky. The sky was so blue, she was always amazed at the beautiful colors around her. Taking a deep breath and sighing softly, the mare looked back at the stallion, "It's such a beautiful day isn't it?" she questioned with her soft voice. "I think the weather is the first thing somebody notices in the morning... and if even the smallest ray of sun is peeking through the clouds... it can make or break somebody's day!" she continued. Was she rambling? She couldn't tell but she really hoped she wasn't.

Smiling softly, Cirrus was enjoying Vieno's company. "You're too kind to me. Vieno is a beautiful name. The pleasure's all mine, Vieno." He smiled happily feeling that their conversation was going well even after a rocky start. Cirrus had met a lot of soquili but there were very few that he could consider friends. He was outgoing but other soquili never seemed to really care to keep a relationship with him. So usually, he never saw that soquili again. That made him sad sometimes but his optimism kicked in after that.

"It is a beautiful day." Cirrus gazed up at the clouds thinking about the times that he had spent just daydreaming about various shapes the clouds took. "My father is named Cloud. And I think that's where my name sort of emerged from. Another type of cloud?" Chuckling softly at his joke, Cirrus liked to think about his parents. They were... a perfect couple. "What's your family like?" The topic of his father made him curious about Vieno and her background but he knew some soquili had family problems so he hoped that he wasn't prying too much.

"Well... th-thank you..." the mare smiled, her face flushed from the compliment. She'd never really learned to take compliments well so it often resulted in her being embarrassed. Vieno always considered herself average and nothing special, so normally when someone complimented her, she had a hard time accepting it. In the end, nobody ever noticed her embarrassment and conversations were continued so it never really bothered anybody.

Sighing softly, she too looked to the sky and watched the clouds plastered against the vibrant, blue, background. The mare loved the sunshine and she loved the rain, it would seem the only weather she didn't really like were storms. Thunder, lightning and horribly strong winds were enough to frighten any warm hearted soul. Vieno often found herself huddling in a corner when storms came round, she hated the noise and lightning was one of her greatest fears. Not that she really had to worry about that, the weather was fit for a king.

"Cloud? That's a wonderful name as well, reminds you of nature! I wonder what sort of cloud a Cirrus is... it'd be interesting to find out!" the mare smiled, loving to hear about others' families. This stallion seemed to love his family a lot so Vieno was happy to hear about it. For the most part, Soquili she'd met already all seemed to love their families. Why was she so different...?

"I uhm..." the mare stumbled over the question about her own family, she hated to lie about them but she hated to tell the truth as well. Thinking it best to avoid the question Vieno looked up to the clouds once again. It was there she saw a giant cloud that looked like a horse jumping over a log, she just had to point it out! "Hey, doesn't that cloud look like...?" she pointed it out with her muzzle and let the sentence drag on, hoping he'd be able to figure out what it looked like.
