...personally I don't think ther's any ups to Het in the origanal serise there are some parrings that are het that are ok. But for the most part there isn't enough girls in the series to support het parrings and I only like Anzu but not with anyone. the other girls I don't really care about there not all that cool.

Less people in the fandom enjoy it, which means you might get more...I think the word I'm looking for is 'objective' readers.

Not half so much fun (crack pairings for the win!)
Not enough girls to work with. Yuugiou needs more women.

Well, first of all, the ONLY het pairing in Yu-Gi-Oh! that was cannon was SethxKisara and even then, Seth didn't even say he liked her until she was already dead. Seth may have been reincarnated but Kisara never will be, no matter how much het-shippers may want her to.
- Yugi had a schoolboy's crush on Anzu at the very beginning of the series (like, before he even met Yami).
- Jounouchi had a ...well, I'm not sure I could even call it a crush... he...drooled over Mai when they first met but afterwards treated her as more of a friend than anything.
- Honda and Otogi "fought" over Shizuka, neither one gaining any ground. She treated them both like...who am i thinking of?... Himawari, that's it. Watanuki can like Himawari all he wants but she doesn't treat him any differently than Doumeki - or anyone else. ((xxxHolic reference)). In fact, Otogi's actions seemed to be directed more towards getting a reaction from Honda than actually getting closer to Shizuka.
So while there isn't any real evidence of het in YGO, (it's stretching just to find an excuse for it) there is far more potential for shonen-ai - even if there isn't actually any more of that than of het.
