A Pokemon Adventure Sinnoh The world of Pokemon is vast and continually growing. It’s a world full of wonder and amazement, conflict and glory. Trainers and coordinators vie for supremacy and fame while trying catch as many of the magnificent creatures as possible. Once again it's time for a new group of adventurers to start their journeys. Who knows what exciting things await these new stars of the Pokemon world?Hello and welcome to the Pokemon Rp. Here you will join with two other adventurers as they too start on their Pokemon journey. It's your choice whether to become a fierce Pokemon trainer, or a dazzling Pokemon coordinator. The rules will follow shortly along with the character skeleton and basic idea of the Rp. Above all else though, have fun. Rules1. No godmodding: for the new people this refers to the controlling of another persons character in the Rp. For example: I have my pokemon fire a blast at yours. It hits and knocks you pokemon out in one hit.The idea is simple and keeps everyone happy. 2. For your starting pokemon it must be a first evolution pokemon. There are a few exception of course, which include but are not limited to: any single statues pokemon like Absol, any dragon type, any of the fossil pokemon, and any of the legendaries. If you have a question about a starter PM me. 3. Keep everything believable to the world of pokemon. This rule includes remembering type, special abilities, and skills. Things to keep in mind1. For trainers, remember a gym battle should be tough and tactics are needed to win. 2. For coordinators, You have to create wonderful shows with your pokemon combinations. Also remember certain laws of physics still apply to the pokemon world. 3. This Rp will mainly drive off of the current show of Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl. I understand that things work a bit different in the show-world than in the game-world. That is mainly true when it comes to moves and when a Pokemon learns them and how many they have. To keep things simple a pokemon can have no more than 4 moves, like the game. However flying and swimming will not take up a move slot. Also if you have a trainers guide for the latest pokemon game use it to best determine a pokemon’s move list and time when learned. Moves can easily be switched and certain ones can be obtained faster depending on the circumstances. If you don’t have a pokemon guide I can PM you the move list for a pokemon. For any questions relating to moves or anything else in the Rp PM me. 4. Your first post will be you coming to pick up your first pokemon from Professor Burch. You'll have to meet your adventuring band so keep that in mind as well. Character SkeletonName:Age: pokemon adventures start at 12. A few years older won’t be bad but don’t push it.Path: Trainer or Coordinator ?Description: I want to see your character as I read.Bio: Nothing lengthy just enough to say why he/she is going on their journey. Family background can go here.Starting Pokemon:Basic IdeaA simple journey through Sinnoh. Hit the gyms and contests, and make it to your final battle or contest.

Ronyo was up extra early today, for today was the day he would start on his pokemon journey. A journey he should have taken a year ago but lacked the confidence to start. This year however Ronyo is ready to meet his adventure head on, and meet every challenge that comes his way. “I’m sorry I gave out my last starting pokemon to a young man just yesterday.” Said Professor Rowan. “What!?,” Ronyo said as he slouched over, “ There are none left?” “Well, you know I do keep a few extra wild pokemon in a small menagerie for cases like this. However the pokemon in there may not be as easy to start off with as the Chimchar, Piplup, and Turtwig.” “That’s ok Professor Rowan, I’m ready for anything,” And with that Ronyo ran out to the menagerie to get his first pokemon. “Ronyo wait, you’ll need this,” Rowan through a pokeball at the eager young trainer, “When you find the pokemon you want just give it a tap on the head with this. Normally you would have to wear down a pokemon first, but all the pokemon in there should be low enough to catch in one turn.” Ronyo caught the pokeball and ran off after his first pokemon. ******** Several minutes later “I’ve seen lots of pokemon but none that look like a good starter. This is harder than I thought.” Ronyo continued walking around the menagerie until he heard a sound coming from a small grouping of trees, it sounded like a battle was going on. Ronyo raced over to see what was going on and what was causing such a ruckus. The young trainer found a Houndour and a Ekans facing off. The Houndour looked hurt though, and when it tried to move it dropped low on its front paws. Ronyo looked closer and could see a bite mark where Ekans had struck. The poison from the snake pokemon was slowly sapping the Houndour’s strength and health. Ronyo couldn’t just stand by and watch the pokemon get hurt even more, so the young trainer jumped in front of the kneeling Houndour. “You’ve done enough here Ekans now be on your way. Go on move along,” Ronyo said with as commanding of a voice as he could muster. The poisonous pokemon just hissed at the boy and then lunged straight through Ronyo’s legs right for the Houndour. The Ekans’ fangs began to glow purple as it powered up its poison fang. Ronyo jumped back and covered the Houndour as the blow struck him in the right shoulder. Ronyo grimaced in pain but did not budge. The Houndour looked at this strange boy protecting it from the Ekans. With a growl the dark pokemon let out a powerful howl that surprised the Ekans who was getting ready to strike again. Houndour ran out of Ronyo’s cover and let loose a barrage of ember shots. The small fire shots hit the Ekans in rapid succession and sent the snake flying. Houndour turned and looked at Ronyo and then gave a slight nod. Ronyo stood up holding his shoulder an smiled at the Houndour. “That was great Houndour. You showed that Ekans a thing or two. Hey, it would be great if you came with me on my journey. The two of us could get stronger together. Whata say?” Ronyo held out his hand and in it was the pokeball. Houndour looked at it for awhile and then at Ronyo’s injured shoulder. With another howl the Houndour tapped the pokeball with its nose and the ball’s famous red light engulfed the fiery pokemon. The ball shook for a bit and then the flashing center light went out. Ronyo raised his pokeball in the air and gave a shout, but then winched as his shoulder throbbed again. “Ok, I’ll go get this taken care of and then will celebrate,” Ronyo grinned ****** Back at Professor Rowan’s lab Ronyo got patched up while Rowan examined Houndour. “This pokemon seems in good health. Alright here is your Pokedex, five extra pokeballs, and some medicine to hold you over until you reach the next Pokemart,” Rowan smiled as he handed over the items. “Sounds good, thanks Professor. Alright Houndour you ready to go?” Houndour gave a loud bark and jumped over to his new owner.

BEEP… BEEP… BEEP!!! Slowly, Kaewyn rolled over in bed, confused why her alarm clock was going off on a Saturday. She slapped her pokeball clock and it fell silent. Kaewyn was almost back asleep when she jumped out of bed, suddenly alert. The fast motion made her head spin, but she shook it off and quickly got dressed. The reason her alarm had been set was because today she was suppose to get her first Pokemon from Professor Rowan. She ran in and out of her bathroom in record timing and then straight out the door. Her family lived over their Pokemart, so she ran down the stairs and left the building leaving her parents’ confused faces behind her. “I thought Kaewyn had already left,” said her mother matter-of-factly. Her father just shrugged and smiled. Kaewyn had never been a morning person. Kaewyn burst through Professor Rowan’s laboratory door. She was out of breath and nearly collapsed. “I’m… here… I’m here… professor…I’m here.” Through gasps of breath, she noticed that Professor Rowan was not the only person in the room. A boy was standing in the room, with a Houndour standing beside him. He smiled and said hi. Kaewyn could only manage a slight wave, as she had just sprinted farther and faster than she thought possible. “Ah, I was wondering if you would ever show up,” jested the professor. “Allow me to introduce you to the newest Pokemon trainer, Ronyo Storm. Ronyo, this is Kaewyn Willow.” “Nice to meet you,” Kaewyn said finally catching her breath. “Professor Rowan, I am so sorry I’m late, but I am here now. Please tell me you have a Pokemon for me. Please, please, please.” Kaewyn’s hands were clasped together, pleading. “Calm down, calm down, Kaewyn,” started the professor putting his hand on her shoulder. “I don’t have any of the conventional starters left.” Kaewyn’s face dropped, and she felt like she would cry. “But…” Oh, there was a ‘but!’ “You can go out into the menagerie and catch one of those Pokemon. They aren’t the easiest to train…” “Oh, Professor, I will take any Pokemon, please.” Hope filled her watery eyes. “Very well, then. Take this pokeball and when you find the Pokemon you want, use this to catch it. Now chose wisely, alright?” Kaewyn nodded eagerly and went outside. “Ronyo,” said the professor. “Would like to stay and watch? The roof of the laboratory looks over the entire menagerie. Shall we?” Ronyo nodded and the professor, Ronyo, and Houndour all went to the roof to watch. ********** Kaewyn came across several Pokemon. There were Caterpie, Rattata, Pidgey, Weedle, Ekans, Oddish, Psyduck, Hippop, Krabby, Goldeen, Horsea, and so many more, but none of these seemed like the right partner for her. She needed a Pokemon that had presence and confidence if she was going to be a good coordinator. Just then, Kaewyn heard a small bark coming from behind her. There at the edge of the pond was a Growlithe bending over the water. The small puppy Pokemon intrigued Kaewyn, so she watched him for a while. Kaewyn had always loved the orange and black coat of this fire Pokemon. The Growlithe seemed to be playing with something in the water. Without warning, Growlithe fell into the water. Wow, he is a little clumsy, thought Kaewyn amused. Growlithe broke the surface of the water in a panic. His small paws splashing the water frantically. Kaewyn remembered that fire-type Pokemon like Growlithe were weak against water. The water must be draining his strength, Kaewyn realized and raced to the rescue. Without a second thought she dove into the pond and swam over to the frightened Pokemon. Growlithe was pretty worn out by the time Kaewyn reached him, so the young girl had to hold on tight to the poor thing as she slowly paddled back to the shore. Once on dry land she picked up the soggy puppy and lifted with all her might. This particular Growlithe was a little larger than most. Kaewyn ran back to the lab and was met at the door by Professor Rowan and Ronyo. “Quick, bring him in and put him on the table,” Rowan instructed. Ronyo immediately helped Kaewyn with her oversized load. Professor Rowan appeared with some towels in an instant. “Begin drying this creature off,” he said throwing towels to the two kids. They did as instructed as the professor set up three heat lamps around Growlithe. “Will he be ok?” Kaewyn asked very worried. Professor Rowan smiled and nodded. Relief flooded over Kaewyn. Professor Rowan suggested that Kaewyn clean herself up, but she didn’t want to leave this Pokemon’s side. She accepted the towel given to her, but that was it. “This Growlithe is slightly larger than most, causing it to be clumsy at times. A normal Growlithe usually weighs about 42 lbs. And grows to 2’4’’, but this young pup is already 3’6’’ and weighs 55 lbs. It is in perfect physical condition, don’t get me wrong, but his grace is somewhat wanting,” explained the professor. That was why he was so heavy. After several minutes, Growlithe finally woke up. The first thing he saw was Kaewyn’s messy face. Her hair was flying everywhere like an open flame. “Oh, Growlithe! I’m so glad you are ok,” said Kaewyn hugging the beautiful Pokemon. “Ah, so glad you are feeling better, Growlithe,” said Professor Rowan. “This young lady dove into the pond and pulled you to shore. You are lucky she was there.” Growlithe barked happily, then licked Kaewyn on the cheek. “Growlithe,” Kaewyn said getting the Pokemon’s full attention. “Would you please come with me and be my partner?” She held out her pokeball and waited. Growlithe placed his fuzzy head against the ball and was immediately engulfed in red light. The ball closed and twitched, one… two… three times before staying still. Kaewyn threw her arm in the air and yelled, “I have my first Pokemon!” Kaewyn turned to Ronyo who was cheering along with his partner Houndour, who was howling up a storm. “C’mon out, Growlithe,” yelled Kaewyn, throwing the pokeball into the air. Growlithe emerged as happy and healthy as ever. Kaewyn bent down to the ground and held out her arms. Growlithe started to run over, but halfway there slipped on the tile floor and slid the rest of the way. Kaewyn laughed. Yes, this was the perfect Pokemon for her.

Why does it smell so good so early? Roxi thought, still half asleep. “ROXI, GET DOWN HERE NOW!!!!” her eldest brother, Walter, yelled from down the stairs. She rolled out of bed lazily and slumped down the stairs to the kitchen. Her mother was busily working over the stove like she was over an hour late, even though she had already covered the entire dining table with the most delicious looking breakfast foods you’ve ever seen. Her brothers sat her down and gave her a plate that was overflowing with food; she quickly started to stuff her face with the filling food.
When she felt she finally had enough she laid back in her chair and nearly went back to sleep when her mom came up with her hands behind her back. “Since you’re starting your journey today, I decided to get you a gift.” She smiled as she pulled out a brand new outfit for her. She jumped up, grabbed the outfit gleefully, hugged her mother extra hard, and ran upstairs to get ready.
When she came down Roberto (the dramatic one) was almost in tears. “I can’t believe that (sob) my little sis (sniff) is leaving me!!” He broke down and within minutes his face was soaked. “Good luck squirt, we’ll miss you.” Walter gave a slight push towards the door. It took about five full minutes for her mom and Roberto to get enough hugs in, but as soon as her mom let her go for the fifteenth time she jumped away and before you knew it she was gone, speeding down the road to the lab.
When she arrived outside the door of the lab she heard what sounded like a bark, a pokeball getting a Pokemon, the clicking of claws, and a thump. She rested her bike against the wall of the building and quietly slipped inside. What she saw surprised her, she expected it to be a serious Pokemon lab, not Professor Rowan with two kids watching a Growlithe do a comedy act.
“Um…” she started, but didn’t know what to say. The professor saw her and asked, “Yes? What can I do for you, young lady?” He walked up to her with a smile. She felt a little nervous, “Well I’m Roxi Carver, and I’d like to get a Pokemon please.” She said rubbing her shoulder to keep herself from fainting. She couldn’t believe she was here, with the Professor Rowan.
“Carver? I didn’t know they had a daughter, let alone one who wanted a Pokemon,” the professor replied sounding confused and a little embarrassed. She slouched over slightly disappointed. Not again. She nearly said out loud.
“If you would like a Pokemon, I don’t have a conventional starter, but if you don’t mind you may find one to your liking in the menagerie,” he said holding out a pokeball for her. “Okay!!” She shouted as she ran out door.
“Would you like to join me on the roof to watch?” he asked the other kids. They both nodded as he said, “I think her catch may be interesting.”
**********
With the pokeball in her hand, she felt ten feet tall, but as she passed by many Pokemon that didn’t seem quite right, her confidence began to fade. “Why is this so hard?!?” she yelled while throwing her hands into the air.
All the sudden she saw two Eevee playing. She noticed one of them right off the bat and couldn’t take her eyes off of her. Roxi noticed how elegant and graceful she was, narrowly escaping a tackle from the other Eevee. Just then a Spearow started pecking at the happy Eevee, apparently they had gotten too close to its bush. The graceful Eevee was struck still with fear, while the other darted away quickly.
Just as the angry Spearow was about to hit the Eevee hard on the head, Roxi yelled “Tackle!!” The Eevee instinctively obeyed, knocking out the Spearow in a single hit.
Eevee sat down a little dazed. Roxi quickly rushed up and kneeled down near her, “You were amazing!! Eevee, would you like to come with me on my journey? We could make a great team, the Pokemon league won’t know what hit them.”
After about a minute of her mulling it over in her head, Eevee jumped up into her arms and gave out an agreeing “Eevee!”
Roxi tapped the pokeball to Eevee’s head and the glow engulfed her. The pokeball twitched; one, two, three times, you’re caught! “Alright!!! My brothers will be so jealous!!”
She came inside the lab as excited as ever. “That was quite a good show Roxi. You have a good instinct for a new trainer.” The professor congratulated her. “So, an Eevee, nice choice,” the boy started, “by the way, my name’s Ronyo, and this is Kaewyn.”
“I’m Roxi, nice to meet you.”

“Wow, this is so great! I’m glad we each got such wonderful Pokemon,” Kaewyn exclaimed. She felt privileged to finally be able to live her dream. Professor Rowan gave both her and Roxi a genuine Pokedex, and five other pokeballs. “Um, professor,” Kaewyn started sheepishly. “Do you happen to have any other color besides pink?” Pink was the standard color of Pokedex for female trainers and coordinators.
“No, I’m afraid I don’t, Kaewyn,” was Professor Rowan’s response. “But I have heard that some Pokemarts in larger cities carry protective covers for the Pokedex that range in a variety of colors.” That’s right! Kaewyn remembered her parents talking about that when they were putting their orders in for new merchandise. She felt relieved because pink was her least favorite color.
“Well, it is time for you three to begin your Pokemon adventure. A few helpful tips: one, trust your Pokemon. They are very intelligent creatures and can be just like a family to you. Two, always try your best and never give up. There will be times when you feel like quitting is the best option, but don’t. And finally, life should be enjoyed. Don’t take friends for granted, and never stop having fun.” The professor beamed at the three kids in front of him. They all looked excited and nervous, as they should be. “Good luck to you all, and don’t forget you can always call me if you have any questions.”
“Alright, I’m ready!” Kaewyn declared in a burst of confidence. “With my new partner Growlithe, we will rock the world of Pokemon Contests. Oh I’m sorry; I forgot to mention that I am training to be a coordinator. What about you two?"

Ronyo smiled at the energetic girl with her oversized Growlithe. She seemed to have more stored up energy then an Eletabuzz. With a look at his new Houndour Ronyo grasped an imaginary badge from the air and grinned.
“ I going to become a pokemon trainer. I want to make it to the Championship and maybe even the Elite Four, and I think with Houndour as my new partner our goal is starting on the right track,” Ronyo looked down at his partner again who gave an agreeable bark.
Ronyo looked over at the other new kid who got her Eevee. The young girl seemed mesmerized by the pokeball that held her new pokemon.

When Professor Rowan gave her, her Pokedex, she felt like she was queen of the world. “I can’t believe this! I’m a trainer!!” Roxi squealed. “Eevee come on out,” she yelled throwing the pokeball into the air. With a flash of red light the, Eevee gracefully landed on the floor happy to be out of the pokeball. “Eevee, together we’ll be the greatest team ever.” Stars shown in Eevee’s eyes as she thought of the fame.
“Hey, here’s a crazy thought,” Roxi stood up, now addressing Ronyo and Kaewyn. “Why don’t we travel our journeys together?”
The other kids didn’t look as startled as Roxi thought they would, apparently they were mulling it over when she asked the question. “That sounds like a good idea, it could be fun.” Kaewyn said, sounding rather eager. “I agree.” Ronyo said in the same way. “So it’s agreed, let’s do this!!” Roxi threw her hand up in the air.

Ronyo looked at the two girls who were to join him on his new journey. It was nice to know he was going to have company on his journey. The new trainer looked down at his Houndour and saw the wolf like pokemon look back at him. He gave his new partner a nod that the pokemon returned in kind and the two began walking out of professor Rowan’s lab.
Ronyo exited the lab into the day light and held up his hand to block the sun while his eyes adjusted. Ronyo looked to the road that would lead to his first gym battle and the start of his road to the pokemon championship. The other two girls came out about that time looking ready to be on there way. With a smile and words of “thank you” to Professor Rowan the trio was on there way to there first destination, Jubilife City.

Kaewyn threw her pokeball up in the air and caught it, then again, and again. The day was warm and the sun shone bright overhead. Kaewyn looked over at her two new friends, one a white haired boy with a serious Houndour heeling beside him, and the other, a brown haired girl with a graceful Eevee prancing about the road running ahead and then behind them all. Houndour rolled his eyes at the overall bubbliness of this Pokemon.
“Houndour, hound, hound,” he said to the Eevee. The hyper Pokemon ignored him and continued romping around the group.
Kaewyn’s Pokemon, Growlithe was in his pokeball, resting. Professor Rowan said that he may still be weak from his encounter with the deep water, and should stay in his pokeball for a couple hours to regain his strength. Growlithe was hesitant to go back into the pokeball because he was a large Pokemon for his breed and the ball was so small. Kaewyn promised that she would let him out in two hours, but that it would be best for him to rest. After much convincing, Growlithe agreed, but the look of fear on his face made Kaewyn’s heart break. Her guilt was eating away at her even now.
Kaewyn looked at the pokeball she held in her hand, and then at her watch. One hour had gone by. That should be plenty of time… right? she thought to herself.
Ronyo noticed the look of concern on her face and said, “You know, Growlithe might heal faster if he isn’t cramped in that thing. He obviously didn’t want to go in it, so I bet it would be ok if you let him out.” He looked at his Pokemon for confirmation. Houndour looked at him with an agreeing, “Houndour.”
Then Roxi piped up, “Yeah, you should let Growlithe out. It’s not like we are in the middle of a typhoon or anything. He’ll be much happier in the sunshine.”
A smile spread across Kaewyn’s face. “Alright, let’s see if he is feeling better. Growlithe come on out.” A flash of white light erupted from the pokeball and transformed into her oversized Growlithe. He looked much better. His fur was shining, as were his eyes. Kaewyn bent down and hugged him. “I’m glad you are feeling better.”
The party of six continued down the road toward Jubilife City when they heard a strange rustling in the grass near them.

Houndour turned to look at the rustling grass when a flock of Pidgey and Pidgeotto flew out followed by a swarm of Spearow and Fearow. The Pidgeys and Spearow buzzed at each other while the Pidgeotto and Fearow collided in grand shows of aerial force. The Pidgey side was losing and badly to the more aggressive Spearow side. Bird pokemon began falling to the ground from being knocked out or from sheer exhaustion.
Ronyo and the two girls looked on in horrified wonderment. Such a display of combat from both sides was amazing but the brutality the Spearow and Fearow were showing was dreadful.
“This isn’t right, those Spearow should have flown away by now. The Pidgeys are clearly beaten back.” Ronyo said as another Pidgeotto feel from a strong blow by a Fearow.
As the Pidgey tried to escape the Spearow flew around them and kept them in the combat zone. Clearly the Spearow wanted to make a point.
“Enough of this, Houndour take careful aim and fire at the Spearow with Ember.” Ronyo pointed towards a group of Spearow getting ready to dive in at the Pidgey.
Houndour growled as he opened his mouth and let loose a swarm of small fire shots that bombarded the Spearow. The aggressive bird pokemon seemed startled from the fire attack and didn’t seem to know what to do. The Pidgey on the ground were staring to get up and watch as Ronyo and Houndour fired wave after wave of Embers.

“Oh no!!” Roxi shouted. “ The Pidgey came in on a Spearow nesting ground!” Roxi Was yelling at the top of her lungs just to be heard over the screeching and cawing. Houndour was pouring fire out of his mouth trying to stop the vicious fight between the Spearow and the Pidgey and Pidgeotto. Just then a small Pidgey landed in front of Roxi, the poor little girl was nearly unconscious.
When Roxi tried to comfort her, a large, dense cloud of Spearow started pecking at the poor bird. Roxi called for Eevee to start protecting the Pidgey with all her might.
"Eevee, tackle!” Roxi shouted as Eevee viciously jumped onto the Spearow’s back. “Now Eevee, quick attack!” Eevee darted around the cloud of Spearow and knocked them out of the air; they were now seeing stars.
The Pidgey that had landed in front of Roxi was safe now but there were still many, many more Spearow coming up from the grass.
