The Recital Welcome to the Recital! This is where I'm going to put any random pieces of whatever I feel like. You guys can come and look and put comments up and stuff. Feel free to be brutally honest. I'm working to be an artist for game designs, so the critisism helps! Why is it called the Recital? Well, a recital is a musical performance, and guess where I get a lot of my inspiration? Music! Plus, I'm a big band geek, and I probably wouldn't be nearly the same person as I am right now if not for band. Music is one of the best things about this planet, and I owe a lot to it. So, the title is a salute to my inspiration and life. Well, what are you waiting for? There's more to see past this sappy little intro! Dive into the music and art!

Okay, for my first picture, I give you Yang, the Angel of Light! It's not too bad, I thinks. As long as I pulled off making him look Japanese, I think my goal is accomplished. He kinda tilts to the left, which I didn't notice until I reversed the picture while being random one day on Paint, but it's all good, I guess. Anyway, here it is:  As for his personality, Yang is a very nice guy who doesn't like shooting games at all. His brother, Yin, drags him down the to the arcade and pesters him into playing them just to spite him. Despite this, the twins have a very close bond and are almost always seen side by side unless forcibly separated. They have to keep each other in balance, being Light and Shadow, and that is part of the reason that they stay together. Also, whatever happens to one happens to the other. For example, if one cuts their finger on something, the other will get a cut and bleed just like the other, even if they're nowhere near the object that injured the first. Eh, I guess that's it. Feel free to comment now.

Next up, because I am bored and random we have Rexen, the Angel of Fire! It's...not one of my better pictures, but oh, well. I still like him best.  Rexen's the cool, laid-back type. However, he uses it as a mask for a dark secret that he's shared with only one person: Kaz. He tries to forget his secret and pretend that he really is carefree, hoping that one day believing it will be enough to make it come true. Despite it all, he tends to be a little mischievous, and has a tendancy to set things on fire out of boredom from time to time. And yes, his hair naturally grows to be that color...

Now, I give you my best profile drawing: Kazeril Kiel, a.k.a. Kaz, the Angel of Death. As of this second, he is the only one of my angels with a last name... Yeah, but, I'm proud of this one 'cause it's like, the best coloring job I've ever done. Yup. I'm just good that way.  Despite the fact that Kaz is the Angel of Death, Kaz is one of the sweetest guys you'll ever meet. Well, most of the time. He doesn't like to fight, but has no qualms about swinging his large scythe around, and can be quite serious if need be. He's very graceful and skillful when it comes to using his weapon, but tries not to show it off very often. The black he wears contrasts severely with his personality, as do the massive black wings on his back. He has to cross them, or else they'll drag on the ground. His scythe has a gargoyle on top, and the wings of the gargoyle form a second blade. It also has the power to "cut" souls away from their bodies, but he tries to avoid using this ability as much as possible. One last random fact: He's of German descent. Mmmmmhmm. *nod* Important? Probably not. Aaaaaand... I just noticed that one wing is WAAAAAAY bigger than the other... Draaaaaat... crying

Glad to see someone came and left comments. =3 Well, if you liked the other ones, you should definately like this. I'm very proud of this one. Behold, Rexen! Again. Yes, in case you haven't figured it out, Rexen's my favorite. 3nodding I can't find much wrong with this... Or...maybe I did, and I just forgot... Side effect of being ill out of your non-existant mind. >< Bleeeh. Anyway, I'll stop rambling now.  I'm not sure if I'll do anything with that dragon in the background. I might make him be able to summon it. Also, it's the same dragon as on the front of his shirt. Whoo! Thanks to my Digital Design teacher for indirectly inspiring me to put a dragon in the background!

you have outlined your main 'deformities' in your posts. I feel maybe on occasion your eyes are too big, however the rest seems fine. Try drawing your weakest side first to smoothen out any oddness of wings/limbs and such xxx

Two things: One, I'm trying to avoid black as much as possible. It's definately the hardest color to shade...and also, my black colored pencil is almost dead... Two, I'm a big fan of white and red. Besides, I'm going for angelic here, not demonic. Rexen = angel. Not always a smart angel, but an angel nonetheless. Also, don't forget that he has a red shirt with a black dragon on it.

Okay, more stuff! A lot of this upcoming stuff is old, but I'm still proud of it, so I decided I'd put it up. This one is called "Break Away." I drew it for this art challenge I found on the Internet one time. You were given a list of 100 different themes, and had to draw a picture for each theme. *coughIneverfinisheditcoughcough* Anyway, this one was for the theme "Break Away." I was gonna enter it in our county fair a couple years ago, but that didn't work out. Feh. Well, it was my first actual attempt at a good sunset, and I think it worked out pretty well. =3 It was also the first time I started putting details like seams and creases on clothes, so it's another milestone for me. WHOO! By the way, this is the actual character Zeera. ^^ And no, the wings aren't really there, which is why they're kinda see-through.
