Hi lovelies!

I've got my new costume design all drawn out and started buying fabric to make it. I'm hoping that it will turn out better than my other one. This one is going to have a more tribal theme. But now I have the problem of my hair. LOL

Does anyone know how to do an easy tribal hairstyle? I don't want to have a ton of things in my hair because my hair is so fine and thin that it will just fall, but at the same time, I use tons of claws and pins to get my hair to stay up anyway. lol

Any ideas?

For me, I'd go with a french braid. here is a web site full of ideas. but you may need help

French Braid

even the dutch braids i think would look nice, but thats just me...

or what i do for any performance, straighten my hair, and take some of my bangs and rubber band it under my hair so that my long bangs don't get in the way of my seeing. lol, when i can i will post a pic to show you what i mean. i hope this helps

a friend of mine sells her handmade fake dreds. they are basically an elastic hairband with long yarns and cowrie shells and feathers and flowers on them. you just put your hair up in pig tails or a pony tail and either attach them with the elastic band or pin them down with a hair stick.

awe, yay.

well here is one hairstyle that you can start out with. either by rubber band or bobby pins

step one: apply style gel or anything else.
step two: sperate bangs with the rest of your hair. Pin the rest of the hair up into a very high messy bun.
step three: brush the hair straight and tuck it behind your ear.
Step Four: tie or pin ends to the back of the head. becareful of loose strands and hairs above and below.

Step Five: let your hair down and either style it differently or scrunch it.

Finish Product:
thin bangs

Thick Bangs:

hope it helps some..

Ohhh that's how you do that...I've seen people do that to their hair and I tried to do it, but wasn't sure how. I'm no good with hair and makeup... LOL

Thanks for the tip Lady!

Smith- I saw a video on youtube on how to make dreads and falls... I think I might give that a try. It looks easy enough.

*hands out lattes and chocolates* biggrin

Well, in Morocco in the Berber areas the women traditionally use these types of triangular bright coloured scarves, with coins dangling from it. (You can see a what kind of scarf I'm talking about on my profile background) and you basically just need to leave your hair down, and untied and tie the scarf somewhat like a bandanna. (but the mostly only looks good with long hair, so that you can see the hair coming out)

oh nice... lots of info... I should have looked at Tribe.net before. lol
I had not thought about a scarf either. That might actually work with my hair.

Thanks ladies!
