The warmth of the sun had long since disappeared behind the horizon, giving way to a surprisingly cold evening on the savannah. The cool breeze that rolled across the Pridelands became biting in the already chill evening air. A nearly black figure huddled between the grasses, just beyong the normal patrols of the Pridelanders. All that was really visible were tiny light flecks of color against her dark form.
While Boso was not by any means frozen, she'd begun to shake slightly, but she lay as still as possible. The only thing more dangerous than the cold in her mind, were the large creatures that seemed to live here. It was blind fear that kept her hidden and hungry this night.

White paws padded lightly of the grasses, violet eyes cast up at dark sky illuminated by twinkling stars. A light smile was on the maw of the white lioness who had green decorating her eyes, her left shoulder and tail. She lowered her head and glanced back behind her making sure that she wasn't too far from her den, where her children were currently sleeping. Her children. It had such a nice ring to it, especially since she was going to be a part of her children's lives, this time she wasn't going to run away for any reason.
Malika'eusi's gaze drifted to the ground when out of the corner of her eye she saw a shivering mass. Curiosity sparked she shifted in her movement and padded slowly toward the dark barely shaking creature. "Hello? Are you alright?" She called softly concern filling her tone.

The dark blue form froze, forcing stillness to her body, in her mind she was perfectly disguised...however she now simply jolted a bit from time to time when the wind would hit her wrong. There was now a deep fear that ran through the cub, fight or flight in the truest sense.
Untill she heard the lioness speak Boso's eyes had remained closed tight, using the tried and true hide and seek logic of a still young cub, convinced that not seeing what was coming made her harder to spot. Hearing the female voice stirred a somewhat comforted feeling in her though, almost the feeling of safety, and slowly the dark cub opened one yellow-lined eye to see who approached.
Even in the dim light she could make out the lioness' shape and, while not convinced of her safety, chose to stay. Still soundless and not quite motionless the cub waited.

It took her a minute but Malika finally pinpointed the dark cub. Worry flashed across her features when she saw just how small the shivering shape was. It was only a cub. Her mother instincts immediately kicked in and she hurried over to the cub's side. "You must be freezing out here in the time between winter and spring." She spoke coming to a halt not too far away but enough to not scare the poor thing.
"We should get you somewhere nice and warm. I promise I'm not going to hurt you." Malika told the cub not caring if she got a response or not, just as long as she could take the cub somewhere warmer. There wasn't a mean bone in this girl's body.

The dark cub remained motionless a moment, both contemplating her options and shivvering violently. Even her young mind knew that she was not safe out here alone, that her mother had been taken and there were no guarantees they would not be back.
Eyes raised up toward the lioness, she took several wavering steps forward, stopping only when she'd reached a point directly before Malika. Though the cub was weak she would not sit, keeping her eyes continually fixed on her rescuer.

Malika closed what little gap of distance was between them to offer her warmth to the cub. She lowered her head low, close to the ground but high enough to have direct eye contact. A soft smile bore itself upon her maw. "It's alright. You poor thing, can you speak? The female asked softly not wanting to startle the girl.
Taking a step back so she wasn't too close she remained low to the ground to that if Boso were to wish to approach her she was more than welcome to. "I'm going to carry you, alright?"

The cub greeted the offered warmth with a rare enthusiasm, edging slightly closer to the female. Boso'd not known warmth during the nights since her mother had gone, the shaking of her body in the dark hours had grown natural to the female.
When asked if she was capable of speech she knew not how to answer, simply staring up at the female hoping to somehow tell her everything and yet was unable to say anything. In responce to being carried however she immediately moved forward and presented her back and neck, preparing to be moved. More familiar with being moved than nearly anything else, being the cub of a rogue, there was a comfort to being held and carried.
Boso knew not where she was going, but happily accepted that it was not where she currently was, and for that she was quietly thankful.

When she recieved no verbal response the female could only assume that the night marked cub could not speak. She could only hope that for the sake of the little one she bent down to gather lightly in her maw, that it was not something permanent. Turning around she padded back the way she came towards her den and her children. No string of words came from the female until they entered the entrance of the cave that was her home.
Gently setting Boso down she nudged her forward prodding softly. "Go on there's nothing here that will hurt you. I promise.

The dark cub made herself easy to carry, she never moved when lifted, and hung happily from the lioness' maw. The view she managed from the lift was familiar, if missed, by the cub, and she stared placidly into the night sky.
When placed upon the ground she stood stiff, sniffing the ground like her mother had done when they were somewhere new. Still young she knew very little of what to look for in a scent, but could still understand the smell of her own kind. She moved toward the grouping of warm bodies, peering at them from a safe distance before placing herself a decent foot or so from them. Looking back toward the entrance, and the lioness who'd brought her here, Boso simply stared wide-eyed, alternating between looking purposefully at the young and back at the lioness. She thought questions loudly in her mind, but knew not how to say them.

Lightly the female nudged Boso urging her forward towards the mass of bodies that were collected farther back. "Don't worry, those are my children. They won't hurt you." Malika explained smiling softly. "If anything they'll help provide you with the warmth you need." That having been said she lightly nudged the young cub again before moving deeper in herself. She had expected this behavior from the seemingly mute cub. After all she was young and had been alone. "Make yourself at home, I'll have something for you to eat in the morning."

Boso edged closer to the buddle of other cubs close to her own size and age. Still unsure and nervous the cub sniffed the one closest to her tentatively and pushed it gently with her paw, like one testing for the waters before jumping in. When no horrible or frightening responce came Boso resigned hersekf to laying down, curled up just touching the small pile. It had been a very curious night for the cub and her with her unexpected travel and strange situation it took her sometime to finally sleep.
((It's short but I think we can wrap it up there...we could do another one someother time, yes?))

Malika watched as Boso got herself settled among her children a slight smile obvious upon her features. The pale lioness remained there silently merely observing waiting to be sure that all five of them were sound asleep. Then she moved towards them curling up drifting in and out of sleep waiting for the first rays of sunlight to fall across her so she could go hunting.
[No worries, it's all good, just let me know when you want to rp again.]
