The Kings and Lords of the land stand in defeat before the utter distrutive force that they face. they offer anything that anyone willing to face the evil demands. they sent out manny messengers, all sent directly to the heroes and powers that have saved them time and time again. a dispatch rider aproaches you and places an invitation with the royal seal in your hand. he dosn't ask for your name, he dosn't need to, noone could mistake you.

as he rides away he says in a cheerful voise,"you've always been my hero, i know you can do it!

the note is a plea for help, telling of an unknown monster that has crippled armies that have stood before it. it goes further to say that no price for your help could be too great and if you accept, they have placed a teleportation rune that will transport you to the World capital of Drath'Leorda

you appear in the main capital, more importantly the main courtyard of the captital Palace. around you you see other heroes looking over various peises of paper worriedly. a butler aproaches you" thank you for comming master.... well i don't have your last name noble druid," he makes himself look rigid again, "m'lords will see you now"

the butler seems calm, but you can tell by his posture that he is unnerved by your presence, though he is hiding it quite well. he leads you into a very, very well made throne room with 6 mirrors surrounding the high king. in each mirror is the face of another king, looking into the main hall.

the high king waves the butler away and motions for you to aproach.

the king bows,"grand Maha, it seems that some kind of unimaginable evil has gripped our land. some evil has been killing whole civilizations, leaving a wake of destruction littered with not dead, but frozen bodies. but these bodies wern't just fozen, but were instead encased in stone, much like a beholder whould do, but on a much greater scale. also, reports of a storm of darkness casting a shadow of doom loom around our land. this darkness consumes anything in its path, and as a result, entire civilizations have simply vanished. we will have you investigate both occurances, and report here. further, we want the problem stoped. Name your price"

the king considers this for a moment and nodds," Any under my law will treat the Great Forest as its own country, respecting its borders and giving you power to do what you wish with violators. i am afraid though, that i cannot stop people from entering the forest and i shall not barr the elves or the gnomes that call the forest home. you may dispose of them if you wish, but only if you can help us in our most desprate time of need. Thus is Decreed, thus is LAW!"
the other kings site our a loud "Hail!!"

the king first motions for maps then, pressing a button on his thrown, a giant war table comes out of the floor. he motions again and an elf comes forth and makes a spell that makes the gigantic map 3 demensional,"i have maps both for showing you where your search will best be started, and so that we may discuss whatever else you feel we must talk about before you go on your journey

the map transforms to show a dark cloud forming in the east and several marked towns to the south look like they're made of stone. the king stands up and walks down to the map," mostly the places that have been attacked are unimportant and expendable, with the exceptions being farming communities that are mildly important to our economy. the biggest problem is the storm," he points at the dark cloud," it is something unatural, this storm. it passes over land and leaves nothing in its place.... no trees, no animals, no grasss, no buildings, and the dirt that remains is unusable
