i've had a bad past few months, and i've decided before the semester gets fully under way i need to re-assess myself...so tomorrow i'm gonna wonder around and soul search. I'm planning to go to a peaceful spot and just...think...

ever had to do this?
or feel like you needed it?
if you did, what did you find out? how long did it take you?
did it help at all?

NEW PROBLEM

i had sleeping problems a little while ago...now i sleep too much...u.u this is so not good...

All the time since I was younger, my grandmother encouraged it. I don't know how I'd keep myself organized and a little bit more stress free if I didn't. I've become more laid-back and I also figured out what I want to do with my life/career. =)

Honestly, sometimes when I soul searched, I became more flustered/confused than I was before I started it.
But otherwise, soul-searching works wonders.
I need to do some soul-searching myself.

mmm no real process, I just find a quiet place to clear my mind for a few minutes then think about what's bothering me/stressing me out. Or sometimes I just close my eyes and play some music. --effective. 3nodding

It sounds like meditation might be something you should look into, Rebel. Meditation involves clearing the mind so that you are in a restful, peaceful state. It's a very cleansing process, I've heard, and it can do wonders for relaxation and energy. It might give you a good start to the soul-searching process.

I don't think I've ever actively soul-searched - that is, I've never sought out a quiet spot on purpose to do so - but I imagine that I've done it before. Probably everyone has at one time or the other. Sometimes you just have to figure out what you want and need before you can go after it.

I have done that many times before.

Just a few months ago I got on my coat, and I went to the park, sat on a bench, and I sat there for about two hours.
Just soul searching.

It had been a very bad month at that time, and I had much to think about.
I felt a lot better after.

I've done that before, but like Em, I always confuse myself more.
I've never been good at expressing my emotions IRL.
So, whenever I just sit and let my emotions out into the open, I get confused and start crying all over the place.
God, it's a hot mess. xD

I've gone soul searching before. It's rather nice.. but when I try to soul search the thoughts of everything won't leave my head and it feels like my mind is attacking itself.

My mind never stops thinking.. Not even when I sleep. It's probably why I dream so much.. D:

I've done it before. It was very relaxing as I was sitting under a tree next to a pond. But later that night, I was almost hit by a car. o_o;;

I used to do it alot.. Until I really found out who I am.
I found out my past from it too.
I'm not so sure if I am better off now, knowing who I am, or if I was better off when I didn't know.

ok so...i tried. i went to the most peaceful place i know...it's lovely, at the back of the main University building (gorgeous building too, but i'll come back to that) there's a flagpole with some benches arranged around it, and it looks over the city, and you get a great view of a building that fascinates me, i'll try and find a pic.

so, i sat there...on the paved slabs because the (polished granite) benches were wet, staring over the city, and watching the clouds...i saw some nice cloud action, it was pretty

buuuutt...i couldn't keep up any kind of train of thought...i must've only come to 1 or 2 semi-conclusions in 2 hours...

eventually it started to rain so i spent a little bit of time walking around the deserted building, since it was a sunday no one was there.

anyway, i'm gonna attempt it again at the weekend

now, some pics of where i was :3

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum - this building just...i just love looking at it, i think it's stunning...need to go in one day >.> that's it at night, i was there during the day, so now fancy lights, lol

during the day

University of Glasgow Main buiding - pretty, huh?at the left you can see a pole...i was sitting there, facing towards the left of the picture, i don't have a good pic of the view, sadly

Cloistersi stood under there while it rained...Hogwarts much?
