Ravenclaw Common Room
Here, in the Ravenclaw tower, a comfortable common room for all Ravenclaws, young and somewhat older.. A fireplace, with a fire merrily burning in it's grates, and lots of chairs, sofas and other places to nestle down in to chat, catch up with homework or just do nothing at all. ~

Now filled from the kitchens Kathleen decided to get t owork on her essay. It didn't take very long and when she was done, decided to just relax and sit by the cozy fire. Her white kitten had come down from the dormitories and was now sitting on her lap, purring contently. Actually the white kitten was a kneazle, but she doesn't let others know this.
Thankful for the quiet Kathleen falls asleep for a few mintues, she's to tired to hunt ofr Mitsu at the moment.

Emylee quietly walked up the stairs to the common room. She looked around and found a corner to sit at. Emylee pulled out her sketch book and began to draw.

Trista walked down from the girl's dormitory with Roxy following at her heels. She walked gracefully over to the sofa at the fireplace and took a seat. When she was settled, she patted her lap for Roxy to hop up to lay down. Trista hadn't noticed anybody in the room as she came down, but as she heard sounds behind her, she glanced around and noticed Emylee in the corner, drawing away in her notebook. "What are you drawing, Emylee?" Trista asked sweetly.

Trista smiled back at Emylee sweetly. "I'm sure it's lovely, Em." She started to pet Roxy's fur and comb through it with her fingertips.

"So uhh, do you like your classes?" Emylee asked slowly. She wasn't good with talking to people.

"I'm enjoying them, I suppose. Though I must say, I'm a little upset that Potions hasn't started yet; It's a favorite of mine. Yes though, I'm happy with my classes. How about you?" Trista continued to pet Roxy gently, while letting out a short yawn.

Payton came down from the Boy's Tower to find two girls chatting with each other. It wasn't a rare event, seeing groups of people together. He kept to himself all those years, not getting to attached to anyone for he knew what type of field he would soon get into had no friends in the end. He scanned around the room for an empty table to read his Defense Against the Dark Arts essay on Animagus and one he would choose to one day transform into completely. He still debated on a ground or flying animal.
Spotting a table to the side of the fireplace, he quickly took to the table passing the girls' talk about art. He gave a faint grin as the drawing caught the corner of his eye. 'It's okay...for a sketch,' he thought while placing his book and roll of parchment on the table. He placed his side bag on the table and pulled out his writing kit to get started. Once he took a seat, he rolled open the parchment and looked over his rough draft which was only half the needed amount for the assignment. He needed to find some way to stretch his essay with out monologuing.

Trista watched as the quit boy walked down from his dorm and walked to the table. "Hello there, what's your name? What are you working on over there?" Trista asked him sweetly.

Payton pulled out a quill from his kit and a blue ink to help with correcting his mistakes. He would use the color red, but since he started school at Hogwarts and being placed in Ravenclaw, blue sort of grew on him. Scanning over his first paragraph, he chopped off the part where his idea of being a flying animal made him sound like a kid asking for a present for Christmas. 'Don't want to sound like a daft,' thinking the structure over once more.
"Hello there, what's your name? What are you working on over there?"
The young man turned his attention slowly to see one of the girls by him. He felt odd, he never talked to a girl that wasn't asking him for help during class, he gulped harshly as he tried to find the words to reply. "I'm...I'm working on my essay for Defense Against the Dark Arts," he blabbered and leaned back against his chair to look over her fully. "Animagi," he said as if to make sure she was on the same page as he was. He gave a faint smile and then looked back at his work, 'lame Bludger,' thinking of how he answered her question.

Trista watched the boy and chuckled at his reactions. "I see. Well what are you writing about it?" She picked up Roxy off of her lap and held her in her arms as she stood and walked over to the boy at his desk. "I find the topic quite interesting." She glanced at his paper then smiled sweetly at him.

Payton was still unsure of himself as he looked down at his work. He never had much contact with anyone that was out of the ordinary, and well, talking to him felt out of the ordinary. He turned his head to see her stand up and walk over towards him holding her cat. He wasn't fond with animals, and rarely placed around them unless he was in classes. Transfiguration seemed to be his favorite, because the animals were used for transformation into another object. He found that quite interesting.
"I see. Well what are you writing about it?""I find the topic quite interesting."
Payton, whether he knew it or not, began to have a conversation with this girl. He took a deep breath through his nostrils as he tried to call his nerves. He just thought she might ask a question or two and leave him be, but she kept up with the conversation and his homework. "Yes, I sort of enjoy the subject myself," he replied and then looked over his paper once more as to make sure he tells the subject of his paper correctly. "Well, the subject is about Animagus, what animal would you elect to transform into and why? What changes you think may occur, color, type, size," he explained, naming a few things as to not sound boring to her.
Payton lifted his eyes from his paper to look over at the girl as if he had some spirt of confidence,"when you transform into the animal, side effects or benefits of becoming that particular animagus," he finished and then looked at her cat. He gave a half grin and tilted his head up to look at the girl. He quickly stood up from his chair, causing the legs of the chair to scratch against the stone floor-forgetting his manners. He held out his hand to her, hoping she'd accept his and introduced himself, "I'm Payton, Payton Sykes. Sixth year. Would you care to sit with me?" leaving the decision open, not like he better things to do but work on his essay- though if she sat with him he didn't care about being side tracked.

She smiled at him as he rose and offered his hand. She took it firmly and shook it, "Trista Finsteti. Fifth year. And of course, if it wouldn't be too distracting of course." She pulled up a chair next to him at the desk with Roxy on her lap. "This is Roxy, she's an arctic fox." Trista laughed a bit as she said this. People had always found it strange of her to not keep a more normal pet such as a cat or owl. "I've always found them to be lovely creatures," Trista said as she started to stroke Roxy's fur. "As for your Animagus topic, I think it's a very neat thing to write about. I've been practicing for awhile to master the transformation, myself. I found books on the subject, and even some mentors who were willing to help. I'm not sure I'm perfect at it yet though, but I can transform."
