 He had come in search of recruits, those to help the cause back in the Dawnwalkers, but as he passed the borders of the Pridelands earlier that day he had a sudden sense of.... not quite foreboding, but something was definitely happening today. He trekked further into the lands, it was nearly noon by now as he drew close enough to Pride rock to stare up at it and need to crane his neck.
Tai would likely be up there right about now, maybe telling a story, or perhaps just resting, enjoying some down time in the sun. He'd look forward to doing some of that with Laini once the war was done with, the battle fought and won. One day they'd have a family all their own if the fates and the powers that be permitted it.

Dark, chocolaty paws moved through the grass, the young lioness walked with her head low and quietly. Its not that she was sad, she was normal. She'd woke up thinking something would happen, anything, but up till now, nothing, not even Chokuto had popped up to bug her yet. Or that crazy girl, Wingu..
She was somewhere behind Matifu, when he'd crossed the border, she'd been walking along it, but they'd been too far to see eachtoher. But now she'd turned back home so he was in front of her.
the first thing she caught was a scent, though. Strange.. that didn't smell.. pridelanderish. She tilted her head upwards, not quite noticing how close she'd gotten to the stranger. She folded an ear back, recalling what Simi had said. Rogues could be dangerous.
But something about him didn't smell so.. odd. Her family was large, perhaps someone from it? She was distracted today, so much that she didn't take heed to his chocolaty mane color-- just like her fur.
"Hey, s'cuze me, who're you? "
Untill now, Kwasi had remained perfectly quiet; she was rather good at going by unnoticed. Up till now, it'd just been one of those 'meh' days.
But he was familiar.

Oh? Wait, now who was this?
The large lion stopped in his tracks to glance to the cub that had started to follow after him, and felt the breath steal from his lungs. He saw the resemblance right away. Those markings, her colors, she looked just like--
Forgetting himself for a moment Matifu's mind reeled, so much that he nearly missed her question all together.
"... You..... your mother, can you tell me her name?"
A random question, completely out of the blue, but he suddenly was aware of so much and he needed to confirm.

"She said not to just give names away to strangers.. " Kwasi said boldly, quirking a brow, at first not quite bothering to really look at him. And it was only when he turned around, and she did look at him, that it hit her, like some rhino had just ran up and slammed into her side. He was familiar, too, too familiar to be some distant relative.
Her brows lifted as her ears folded back, fur prickling mostly from surprise; the juveniles claws dug into the ground as if to keep steady as she leaned backwards. The female shook her head, pawing at her eyes for a moment in disbelief, before she simply lost herself. She wasn't seeing the same floor before her.
She saw him-- but not quite him now. Another time, another place; he was with her mother, and she heard the voices, like she had before-- Matifu...
"You.. " She stammered, back to Kwasi, not some weird point in her mind. However, she did fall rather clumsily onto her rump, claws having released from the soiland simply letting her flop. Her fur, however, still remained prickled; that would be harder to fix. "You're.. " She could only blink, staring up at this lion.
It was her father.

"... I'm so sorry, I..." For once, Matifu was momentarily at a loss for words. Actually no, he'd been this way once before, speechless at the birth of his first litter, his first and until now he thought-- only litter. He watched the, by comparison, tiny cub land on her rear and lowered his head, watching her with concern etched across his features, in his eyes. Would she hate him? Did she have siblings? How many cubs were there, why hadn't he checked back sooner? Why hadn't he known or at least thought to check? "Are you alright, little one...?"

"No-- I've always had thisshesaysI'maseer-- I.. " She was rambling now, great. If Matifu knew anything about his daughter(which he probably didn't), he'd know it was really, really hard to knock her into something like this. No, recollect yourself!
She shook her head, closing her eyes before looking up at him again. Okay, give yourself some credit, Kwasi-- its not like you want into your FATHER every day-- not in their case. "What.. " She didn't know what to think.
Part of her wanted to be furious, but in way.. she couldn't do it. She'd been perfectly fine, dad or no dad. Kwasi had been happy, so did she really have a right to be angry? But he'd still left Tai.. he probably hadn't known, yes. Tai had never really talked badly about him either; if she'd ever mentioned a male, it'd been in good light.
So why did wshe want to be angry?

... Wait, seer? Matifu's eyes widened at that number, and the lion drew back slowly to stand straight again. "... Perhaps I should see your mother... I believe there's much to discuss, but first... might I know your name...?"
He felt that if she were angry, she'd have every right. Unintentional or not, he hadn't been there for them, and it was something any good parent would regret.

She blinked, nodding distracted asthe lioness looked blankly ahead, to a space slightly before his paws. She wsn't sure what to think-- happy, sad, angry..? She sighed, shaking her head again.
"Y-yes, I'm.. I'm Kwasi'roho. " There was a pause between the 'Kwasi' and the 'Roho', almost as if she'd forgotten her name. She shookher head gain, rubbing a paw against her forehead for a moment. "You shouldn't just go up there.. I dunno how my brothers will react and my sister.. " She paused, she was rambling again. "And tai and he pride and.. " She blinked, looking away for a moment.
"Uh.. uh.. Matifu, " She didn't quite recall her mother ever naming their father, if she had, she'd forgotten it. She knew i simply because of the vision. "Thats your name, right? Ihear it. When you turned around. " She foled an ear back. "I have three brothers and a sister.. one is Siagi, the other is Agenti'udongo and there's Nyeupe too. My sister's name is Azriel'kyupe. " Might as well tell him, straight from the point. This was her dad.
"Siagi's grumpy..ish, more-so lazy, I guess. He might not like you. Nyeupe's pretty hyper and playful, and probably won't care, " she tapped her chin. "Agenti's probably gonna poke you until you do omething interesting.. but I think they're all gonna be shocked. " She shook her head, biting her lower lip. She had to stop this rambling! "You.. you shouldn't just waltz up there like that. " She folded an ear backwards. If he just walked right up to pride rock to find Tai, surely one of her siblings would pick it up-- she would have with or without her seer abilities.

His expression grew calmer, but held a touch of sadness to it despite the tiny smile that he did attempt.
"Then I will take their anger if that is the case, but your mother and I are very good friends, and it wouldn't be right for me to not see her and your siblings while I'm here."
Though, unknown to Matifu this was thankfully likely not the case. In his mind if they did resent him, he'd simply have to accept it, though knowing Tai she was thrilled to find she was pregnant, as, ironically that night together they had been discussing how they missed parenthood so much. Here he had missed out on fatherhood, but perhaps... somehow, as morbid as it might sound, it was for the best? He didn't love Tai that way and knew the feeling was mutual, and this wasn't home, it couldn't be helped. At least he'd get to meet them, though...

((With Wu's okay/permission, closing up this RP since she's kinda stuck and it's heading to close in another post anyway.))
Once the young female finally came out of her shock a little, Matifu moved and reached to pick the cub up by the scruff of her neck. He felt her go stiff in his jaws at first, but then she seemed to relax and go a bit more naturally limp. Confident that he had a good grip on her now he began the trek to Pride Rock, where he already knew for certain that he'd find Tai, Ayato, and probably the rest of the cubs. Be their reactions good or bad, he was home to face the past, and hopefully right the wrong he'd so unknowingly committed, even if he couldn't stay. Once again the irony dawned on him. He'd been searching for a purpose for all this time, and though he wouldn't change the one he'd found for anything, he couldn't help feeling guilty for missing this one for so long. Thankfully the cubs were still young, so he'd have time to spend with them, but what if he hadn't come when he had? Would they have resented him?
~Oh Tai... I had no idea, I wish that I'd known.~
