Charu was now an adult. Things had been a bit strange after the encounter with the adult fire male. She hadn't seen Haseo since. She hoped there wasn't something wrong with him. She couldn't help but feel a little down as she slowly walked threw the woods they once placed and got lost in. Such good times, and it was the first time she met him.

He tried to act mean then, but something changed about him. Perhaps it was because she was his first friend. She had no clue. She wondered, as well, why he was always in her mind. She wasn't as smart as most, and didn't know a thing about relationships or anything to that sort. Her mother and father didn't tell her about it. Nor did she even bother to ask.

She gave a easy smile as she looked up and watched two birds fly about. Her thoughts changed quickly. Another thing about her, she couldn't keep her mind to a single thing to long. And normally they didn't come back into her mind unless she saw it. Except Haseo. She watched them fly and stopped so she could admire them better. She wondered how they could fly with their tiny wings. Though, she wondered how Ulaya's could fly too. Having seen some in the distance, she never really bothered to try to ask them.

Haseo had also grown into an adult. His strength and skill had grown in many ways. But, he had not grown in other ways. His mind was still on Charu. Ever since the day she had seen his father, Haseo had refused to see her again. It was the sickening thought that she would realize that ulaya was his father. He was afraid she would reject him. Haseo didn't want that, and had stayed far away from the forest they usually played in.

Until today, that is. Haseo had gone wandering back into the forest. The memories were pouring from his mind. The game they had played, how they had gotten lost. It had all started when she had crashed into the leaves. Charu had understood how he was, or told him how she might like to see how he did. That one truth was the thing that had made changed him. Haseo had grown to like her too much. Then there came a time when he tried to tell her how he loved her. But that was the past, he didn't know if she remembered him.

The red male was padding quietly though the forest. The sun wasn't high in the sun. Rather, low. The sun was dawning right now. Turning black. Haseo knew that his eyes and red pelt wouldn't be good shelter. Though, he would be able to defend himself if any hostile creatures decided to misplace him as prey. Haseo let out a small sigh and looked up, his eyes letting out a white glow. He was thinking about Charu again, and when he did, another thump from his heart would alert him.

Charu's attention was still upon the birds above as she sat there. She didn't even notice that there might be another person around. She let a nice loud sigh escape her mouth. "So pretty" she told herself as she continued to watch them fly, and land on different branches. Listened to their song, and then without warning, they were gone. How sad.

She sighed and looked back to the ground. Her mind full of thoughts about things that happened when she was a kit. More recently then she would like to think. She looked a lot like her father now that she was an adult. Her eyes blue and vibrant. Her gem was still a dark sapphire that seemed to bring out her eyes more. Her black body, made it easy for other's to notice her purple, white, and blue spots upon her back, tail and head fluff.

Her body gave a small shiver as she yawned. Not really tired, but bored. Waiting for something to happen. Waiting for Haseo. Each day for the past month she had come to this exact spot, waiting. Hoping, though her hope was slowly fading.

Haseo shook his head with slow shakes. He was hoping to find someone out to day, at least someone. Charu was the one ulaya he was hoping to find. Him finding her would be likely impossible. Since he didn't really know where she lived. There were many dens out in this land, and finding the exact one in which Charu resided in would be hopeless.

Continuing his way through the growing dark forest, Haseo stopped in dead silence. He heard movement. A ulaya at best, but his mind swarmed with thoughts of a different type of creature, like his father. In no time he say two dark shapes flying in the air. They were birds. They both were flying near each other. And as they passed, Haseo imagined him and Charu, soaring in the skies.

Another sigh. He looked to where he had spotted the movements. It certainly wasn't a bird. Haseo quietly padded nearer, his curiosity making the better of himself. When the male blinked and saw darker flecks of gray, he withdrew in surprise. It was a female, and it didn't take him long to recognize her sweet scent. A frown on his face was curving into a happy smile.

".... C-Charu?!"

The voice she heard was much deeper then she remembered, giving her a slight jump as she turned towards the male. At first she didn't know who he was, except the purple markings gave him away. Though, she didn't remember seeing a scar like the one he had on his shoulder. Which, of course freaked her out just a tiny bit.

Her eyes got wide as she stared at his scar. "HASEO YOUR HURT?!!!" Of course, she knew it was old scar, since it was healed and all, but it was what came out the moment she saw it. She ran towards him and put her paws upon his shoulder to look at it to make sure it was old rather new.

She felt rather stupid when she realized it was old, letting go of his shoulder. Blushing slightly, though no one could even notice it. "Oh... Sorry... I..." She didn't really know how to explain her behavior. She care for him, and didn't want to see him hurt. Not at all, and seeing that made her wish she was there when it happened. Or maybe it was, and she was just too stupid to notice at the time. Always thinking he was ok. She had a frown upon her face, though she was very happy to see him. Feeling lighter every second that she was close to him.

Haseo was taken off guard by her sudden worry. He didn't withdraw and back up though, and actually wished her paws were on the scar. The scar had been gained when Haseo confronted his father. It didn't go too well, and Haseo was left with a scar from his father's hooves. After that he didn't want to approach the male. But, history repeated itself. Haseo and Charu had both wandered into an abandoned house, which his father lived in.

Blushing lightly Haseo tried to stop the thumping of his heart. It was growing louder and louder by the minute. He didn't want Charu to hear it. "Don't worry..." He paused, trying to think of a better subject to say. Words couldn't form in his mouth. They were trapped in his throat like glue. Oh what was he going to say?

"...How's are you?" Haseo said without thinking. It was the only way he was going to start a conversation, without an awkward silence. If he had the strength to tell her then he probably would already. Though the question of if she would forgive him of running away like that, it scared him.

The wind blew making her hair fluff fly in all directions as she sat there staring at him. She couldn't hear his heart, but she could hear her own that seemed to be as loud as ever. She almost thought she didn't hear his question at first in worry that her heart might pop out of her chest. She let silence fill the air apart from the trees above that seemed to make their own music with the leaves. And the far off sound of distant birds that she was sure were the ones she had watched before.

"Oh, I've been good." She lied. She didn't want to worry him about her, and didn't want to tell him that she'd been worried about him either. She didn't know how to say it anyhow. How could one tell the other that they'd been coming out to this spot waiting for them to show up. Once they did show up, it made things all foggy, and she wasn't sure what to do. In her dreams, she did, but that was different, wasn't it?

"You?" She asked him. Hoping that perhaps that he felt something of the same, but if he did, he'd probably lie about it just like she. She let her frown slowly got into a smile. It was too hard to frown around him, so she couldn't help let a smile upon her face.

He couldn't possibly tell her how he was. The simple question plagued his mind with nitemares. She couldn't know how he had wandered off, the reason, how scared he had gotten, just for her. Haseo smiled gently, his white eyes wandered over to where a flower lay. It was grey in his eyes, but somehow he could tell it was the same color as his pelt.

"I've been good too." Haseo lied, guilt swimming over him when he had only said that. At that moment, Haseo stood up and padded over to the flower. Now it was easy to tell what kind of flower it was. A rose. Carefully he unsheathed his claws and cut the end of the stem. The rose fell with quiet silence. Haseo didn't smile this tine, picking it up with his mouth and padding back over to Charu.

"Um," He gulped and lucky again that his face was red, so he could hide the blush that was growing. "Here.. This is for you." Haseo placed the red rose down, scooting it over to her gently. The male smiled now, rather curious of how she would react.

She watched him curiously as he stood and walked off a bit. She raised an eye brow, but didn't move. He wouldn't just leave her, and she knew that. They had a connection she couldn't explain. She smiled at him as he turned around with something in his mouth. At first, she couldn't tell what it was until he sat down in front of her and dropped it upon the ground. A single red rose.

Her mother had told her once that those meant love. Though, she wasn't too sure about it now thinking. Since she had told her about other flower meanings too. Perhaps she got it mixed with something else. Her heart was racing a bit as she sat there staring at the flower. Trying to figure out what her mother had said to her, but then realized she must look like a fool siting there doing nothing.

She looked up at him with a smile. "Thank you." She said quietly. "it's beautiful." Of course, red had became one of her favorite colors, at least after meeting him. Everything that was red, seemed to remind her of him. She pawed at the flower's stem and moved it back fast with a pained look upon her face. It had bit her. She looked at the flower then at Haseo. Her mother had told her about the thorns upon it. She giggled to herself for being stupid. "It bit me" She said jokingly to hope that Haseo didn't get offended with her reaction to that.

A worried look did cross Haseo's face. He hoped she didn't get too hurt, or he would think it was all his fault. The male glanced at the rose's thorns, wishing that it didn't have such needle-like thorns on them. Maybe if they didn't, others wouldn't have to be worried or scared of touching them. Haseo shuffled his paws nervously.

One thing he had seemed to be nervous about was telling her, and hopefully managing to say it, was those three words. Haseo had wanted to say them when he was a kit. He had planned on saying it when he gave her that flower as a kit. But, his father had come into the subject. If it hadn't been how his father had come in, he might have told Charu his feelings for her.

Haseo looked back at her, nodding a little. His stubby tail was wagging back in fourth furiously, he didn't know why either, "Do you wanna... Go for a walk?" Haseo asked, looking up when his head had seemed to fall. Her eyes were causing him to feel light-headed.

She took the rose in her paws and bent the thorns off to the side so they wouldn't hurt her. It didn't take long. Her brother had shown her that once before, and thought it was a neat trick. She stuck the rose behind her ear so it'd stick there. "See! No worries though!" she said with a laugh.

"A walk would be lovely." She said getting to her feet and smiled at him. "Were to?" She felt a strangeness rise up the longer they stayed together. What was this feeling? "Something on your mind?" She asked, pushing the thought to the back of her head for a moment.

Haseo stood up with her. His body seemed to freeze in longing when she had said 'lovely'. He didn't know why either, but the simple word made him go crazy. Maybe, because it was so close to saying 'love'. Haseo didn't even seem to hear her question. He was dreaming, and when he finally did, he looked back at her a little bit sudden.

"N-nothing." His eyes fell down to his paw, another uprise to lieing overwhelmed him, but Haseo picked himself up and looked to the South. "I heard there was a lake that way, maybe down there?" He smiled reassuringly.

"Oh! I love lakes!" She said with a giggle and clapped her front paws together the best she could as she was standing. "Hurry now!" She said as she grabbed one of his paws and started dragging him in the direction. This day seemed to get better and better! She didn't know anyone else she'd want to spend it with. "Just in case we might miss something"

"Your the best!" She said to him without realizing it at first, but shrugged it off as she continued to drag him. It was always fun to do. Plus, he didn't seem to mind. "Fish are fun to chase in the water! Have you done that before?" She asked trying to keep them both talking. It was better then silence.

He was surpised when she started to drag him, Haseo did walk on, though his paw was being held by Charu's, so he kind of limped on his three other legs. "Um, no. I've never chased them in the water before, or get into the water..." Haseo let a frown criss his face, did that mean he couldn't swim?

"It's fun! I'll show you!" She said with a smile "We don't even have to go too far out. Cause... I can't swim" She said with a giggle. She wasn't ashamed of it, nor didn't think she should be. "Come on now!" She said, trying to drag him more. He was a lot heaver then she remembered him being. But they were adults now, so that was probably why.
