okay i had auditions for all county band a couple of days ago. i went in to audition, and was surprised because the judge cut me off before i had even finished the first line of my prepared piece. i was talking to one of my friends later, who also plays trombone and had the same judge, and she said that he cut her off too, but farther along in the piece. she also said that she was talking to another of our trombone friends, who said the judge had called different scales for him. so we all went and told some of the directors, and they were really mad. now because of our judge, they results are being withheld and they have to call an emergency meeting for all the directors in the county. i was told that the trombones might have to re-audition. has this ever happened to anyone before?

yes it has, my audition for honors band were like that, it's actually pretty standard.
they often change sections of music that they want you to play so that no one has an advantage
changing scales is a little weird, but it does happen
