Mares.....
It was something Vasu thought about a lot these days. He was so bent on finding 'the one' that it was intoxicating at times. Downright exhausting even. He had met quite a few mares that were easily close friends, but it stopped there. None of them seemed to be to mare he wanted to pursue for a life long relationship. Yet..
He grumbled a bit under his breath. He had just passed a mare only moments ago, a colorful mare that even smiled up at him, but he had reached a breaking point. He simply looked up at her, then turned to continue on his way. Without realizing it, he was almost ready to take a break from mares for a bit.
His thoughts trailed to the only other stallions he knew, his two brothers. He couldn't help but wonder how their crack at romance was going. It pained him to think that his younger brother..would find a mare before he did.
He picked up his pace, ready to take off running at any moment. He ducked around a corner, letting instinct take over his hooves. He ran with a wild speed. If anyone saw him, he might seem magnificent, untouchable. His run was filled with power, rage hammering each hoof fall to the earth.
He had run to his mother once, but she couldn't help him anymore.
He was on his own.
He would deal with it, or learn to accept it. Maybe he needed to find more stallion friends, and see how they did things. These things must vary from one individual to the next. Perhaps he put forth too much passion in finding the right mare. It didn't matter right now, all that did, was his run....

'So tired... So bored!'
The thought was redundant in the mare's head as she laid on the ground, comfortable in the shade of the tree. Her deep blue eyes lazily searched the plains around her and found nothing of interest. She had been traveling ever since she was old enough to leave her parents, and it had been rough on her injured leg. She hoped the traveling would've rendered it usable, but alas, it didn't. It was still as useless as ever. She had once been amused by the sights of frivolous stallions, but the amusement left when they found her to be not as frivolous as they were they left.
Like any other ignored female, Cicely began to believe that she would become an old hermit who would only lose friends and never find 'the one'. So she had forced hrself to become nonchalant with the idea of falling in love, or so she tried.
She wanted to make friends first, and if love came along, so be it. Cicely was only the more inrigued by it since her siblings all seemed happily situated (minus her sister, but she was never taught what really happened).
There was some loud noise in the distance... Powerful, like someone running with a lot of effort and force. She lifted her head off of the ground and her ears swiveled in in every direction, trying to locatewhere it was coming from. Her ears had been slow however, as her eyes caught sight of the running stallion quicker. Her first instinct was to look behind him to see the oncoming predator, but nothing else seemed to follo him. Was something wrong?

Eager to get away from nothing, yet everything, Vasu pushed on even harder. The run seemed pointless though, with no destination in mind. Really, it was already more than he was used to running. He was bored already. His hooves slowed their pace, but not soon enough! He had been so self absorbed with his problems, that he paid no mind to his surroundings. In an instant, a blur of white, steel, and jet black was on the forest floor in front of him. Instincts took over as he pushed with his back legs and sprung majestically over the soquili before him.
Good job you dunce! You could of lobbed someones head off just then!! he scolded himself as he landed with a thud, spinning around almost simultaneously. "I'm so sorry!"
Seeing that it was a mare, he began to flush under his onyx colored cheeks. Only the seaspray colored swirls would show any change in color if one were to try and notice.
"Forgive my foolishness.." he pleaded as he rose his head up, trying to retain his cool.

It happened so quickly, but it seemed to have happened in slow motion, the last few moments. The dark stallion had charged at her and she had barely noticed - he blended well with the forest shadows - so she barely had time to gasp and react appropriatley. She ducked her head, but her deep blue eys caught sight of his leap over her head. She was amazed at his agility, but more so fearful. Why exactly would he be running so recklessly?
Cicely's head remained in the ducked position as she stared wide-eyed at the dark stallion, taking in his apology barely. The mare was attempting to recollect herself from nearly being runover. After an awkward moment of silence, she relieved herself of a long pent-up breath, her breath shakey and lightly laced with a laugh. "Where... Where are you heading so fast?" She inquired, looking upa t him from the ground. Glancing downwards for a moment, she shook her head, a small smile on her lips, "I accept your apology, but still... I've never seen someone in such a hurry!"

All cool was lost as she blinked up at him in silence. He had totally blew it. He stood there, froze, waiting for her to move or speak. He was beginning to think he might of actually hit her, and not felt it in his hoof. When she finally exhaled, it triggered his own soft exhale.
Listening to her question, then her exclamation at his actions, he felt like a total dumb-a**. A small tree was just close enough to him, and he took it as an advantage. Leaning down towards it, he clunked his forehead against it. He had half a mind to beat it against the small tree....
"I...wasn't really heading anywhere." he spoke, still pressed against the bark of the birch. He was running away from his own emo outlook on mares, but that wasn't something he should share. He had felt so hard when he was running, like he could shun mares for as long as need be. Now here he was, totally defenseless and back to his normal self.

This was extremely... awkward. She gaped at him for a moment, unsure of how to respond. So he was running aimlessly? Maybe just for fun? A light smile tugged at her lips, a pang of jealousy hitting her heart. If only she could run for fun... She rose a brow at how he kept himself close ot the birch tree, but didn't ask about it. She slowly began to stand, careful of not tumbling over if her bad leg decided to be as useless as ever, while standing, she shook out her mane and spoke, "Then were you running from something, for something?" Innocent questions, but she was curious.

He rubbed his head up and down the tree a few times, then pulled away. Tiny bits of bark that had come loose, clung to his jet black coat. He shifted his weight from one hoof to the other, locking his knees as he popped them about. His hair jostled about as he did.
"Well..." A moment of epiphany. Perhaps if he couldn't just tell the truth to anymare, at anytime, he could never truly move on. A little callused in the midst of it all, he rather didn't expect much. He really needed to vent, but would keep a sound mind about it all as best he could.
"...I think I was trying to escape my own personal problems. Nothing serious, yet I just don't know what to think. So, I thought it would be best not to think at all. This is where that got me." he blushed.

What... was he doing? She watched him warily as he rubbed his head against the bark, unsure of how to respond. The confusion on her face faded as he began to speak, and it fell to one of a small smile, though her brows knitted together. "Personal problems huh?" She echoed, giggling lightly as she righted herself without the aid of the tree. She tilted her head and narrowed her eyes playfully, "Why? You practically ran me over, but you didn't. Everything is fine~." She said looking up momentarily at the sky before back at him.
She couldn't see the blush on his dark coat, so she continued, "So was running into me a bad thing?" She rose a brow, her tone playful but intrigued.

His fidgety nervousness was froze as he became statuesque.
Before him stood a beautiful female. With her steel dust blue markings that made her face cat like, and continuted on her backside and flank, ending with lines that drew attention to her legs.. Her coat the color of shaded snow, cast off and completed by the contrast of her dark hair.
He was really embarrassed now, for here he was, checking her out. He had been to caught up in feeling stupid to pay much attention to the mare before him. Now he fully saw how mare she was.
Ugh. Just great. Trying to feel callused about females, must of made his feelings like a pent up volcano, now freely flowing it's lava though his veins. She was hot!
His heart thumped as he tried to scramble together any sense left in his overwhelmed thought process. "Uh-huh-hm.." he stuttered. He was about to ask her to repeat the question, but he had heard her. "No.." he blushed again, his eyes showing great emotion, like he might burst. "..it's not a bad thing...at all."
He looked away from her, a big fat grin on his face, making his eyes twinkle. He stared off into space, looking at nothing, but everything except her for a moment. Even without looking at her, he still saw nothing but her in his mind.
He was so full of it.

He was acting really awkwardly... And staring at her? Cicely had to cast her gaze downwards at his stare, and she could feel her own cheeks heating up. Why did he have to look at her like that? Was there something wrong with how she looked? Maybe he noticed how her back leg was not as straight as the other. Or maybe there was a bug on her? When he spoke she turned her attention back to him quietly, a sheepish smile on her face after she relieved a nervous laugh.
"I-Is something wrong then? You seem to be acting kind of funny." She didn't mean to stutter, but she was so flustered! What was she supposed to do?
