She loved the mall, not just because her parents worked here, not because it had everything that anyone could ever want, and not just because it was always full of amusing people. It was in fact a combination of all of that and the fact that they had a store where all they sold was candy! The Eevee girl was whistling in a happy sort of way as she unglued herself from the window to the Candy Shop and then wagged her tail. She was given money and was looking for what she wanted to spend it on. Candy was tempting, there was also the toy store, the clothing store that she loved, and a million other places.
It was so very hard to decide where she wanted to use the precious money she'd been given by her father. Her ears turned forward as she considered her many options.
Baldric was following along behind his excited daughter, never able to lose her in the crowd due to the bright rainbow of colors she wore. Something he was thankful for. Today it was orange leggings that had tiger stripes, a black dress with stars all over it, and several belts of various styles and colors that weren't really useful for anything but 'looking good' or so she had told him.
She had an interesting sense of style that was for sure...

Kale sighed. While some children found the Mall to be a wonderous land of adventure and excitement, to him? It was just a painful reminder that there was stuff out there that was cool, but he was "too young" to own. He stood outside "The Surf Shax", with all of his pseudo-beach related stuff, and stared longingly at the red-and-white surf-board. Oh, man, he wanted that thing so bad he could almost taste it. So what if it was three times his size?! So what?! Kale lived on the beach, and his whole life he had seen the Surfers out there, and all he knew was that he wanted, nay, neeeded to be one.
But he couldn't. So, he wouldn't. For now any way.
Thus, Kale found himself wandering through the mall, his dad still at the book-store doing an impromptu book-signing session. Kale had fun looking through the manga, but Marshall gave him permission to wander through the Mall as long as he remembered not to talk to any strange people.
"Maybe I'll check out the toy-store for that new Amazing Man figure..." the boy mused to himself.

Piper's tastes in clothing matched that of Fenrir's. The girl was decked out in red and yellow striped socks, bright green shorts, polka dotted pink and purple top, with a sky blue hat to top it all off with. The kid was a walking fashion disaster.
Piper was wandering the mall in boredom. She pondered which shop to visit next. She'd just come from a bath shop, with the wonderful fragrances within. She carried a small bag with a bubblebath solution scented with a citrus theme.
The girl turned a corner and spotted another bright figure ahead. After a moment, Piper grinned. "Fenrir!!" She waved and hurried over to the other girl.

Fenrir's large ears twitched as she heard her own name and knew instantly who the voice belonged to, "Piper!" She squealed as she turned around, looking back and forth for her her friend. She gave an excited sound when she spotted her, "Ah! Piper you look so pretty!" The little girl cried, rushing forward to where the Torchic was. She looked her over, taking in what she was wearing in delight.
Her fluffy tail was wagging rapidly, "Where did you get those socks? I love them!" She was a huge fan of bright colors and layers upon layers of them too.

Ohhhh...My surfboard...So...Red and...Stuff... the very depressed Kale dreamed as he wandered through the mall, keeping his distance from the "girly" shops and the boring shops meant for adults, like Sunglass Hut. Really, did there need to be an entire shop for sunglasses?
He, however, noticed one recognizable girl, and a girl he hadn't met before. Oh well, best to not be rude. "Fenrir!"

Piper grinned as her friend rushed over to greet her. "Hmm?" She looked down at the socks that she'd adapted for her odd feet. "Uh... I don't remember." The girl wandered through the stores too randomly to recall where she bought everything. "I like yours!" She pointed to Fenrir's leggings, giggling happily.
The brightly colored girl turned as someone else called her friend's name. There was a blue boy headed over towards them. She hung back to see who this was. Fenrir seemed to know LOTS of people.

Fenrir lifted up on leg so that she could better look at her leggings then grinned, "They were just orange but I drew stripes on them with a fabric pen." She said, sounding quite proud of herself. She'd told her Daddy how the color looked like a tiger without stripes, the next day he'd gifted her with the pen which was getting much use.
Her large ears twitched again, her head turning as she heard her name being called again. She couldn't help but smile, my she was the popular one today she thought to herself, "Kale!" She said, lifting a hand and waved it excitedly in the air upon seeing the boy coming their way.

Kale was honestly happy to run into an acquaintance, and he was curious who this new girl was. Kale knew he was the oldest in the group, but...Darn! He wasn't even the tallest in the group.
He didn't have a complex. Really.
"Hey Fenrir. What're you doin' here?" Kale asked, before looking at the Torchic girl, "...Hey there!'

"Ah," Piper commented about Fenrir's remark on her leggings. She could do that! It didn't sound hard at all. She'd have to mention it to her daddy. The torchic girl watched as Fenrir greeted the boy, who was apparently named Kale. Or, that was what Fenrir called him, at least.
"Hihi!" Piper called back at the boy's greeting. "I'm Piper!"

"I'm trying to decide what I want to buy with my money, I don't know what I want yet. What about you? What did you come to the mall for Kale?" She asked.
The Eevee's girls ears gave a twitch when Piper introduced herself to Kale. She blinked, realizing that she should have introduced them since she knew them both but they didn't seem to know one another, "Piper this is my friend Kale." She said quickly so as to fix her mistake. It was always nice to meet to friends so she was more then happy to introduce them.
She found herself starring at Kale for a moment after telling Piper his name, "There is something different about you." She couldn't quite put her finger on it though...

"Nice to meet you, Piper." The boy said to the Torchic girl pleasantly. She was certainty dressed loudly, but then again so was Fenrir.
I wonder if all girls dress so...colorfully.
"My dad's signing books at the book-store. It was fun for a while, but Dad said that I'm old enough to walk around the mall all by myself." Kale said proudly, as if walking around the mall by himself was manly or some thing. Then, of course, she asked about his changes.
"Huh? Oh, um..." Now, how to explain this, "Well, my dad said that I just 'evolved' 'cause of the Pokemon in me. My dad said that now I'm a 'Marill' now." Kale explained happily, quite proud that he was the first in his small group of friends to "evolve", even though he had no idea what it meant other than his tail shrunk and he got bigger. Still not that much bigger, but still bigger.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Kale." She wondered what Fenrir meant by the boy was different. She couldn't have had any inkling, seeing how she'd just met the boy. "Your daddy's signing books?" The girl frowned. Her daddy got mad when she colored in the books. "Will he get in trouble?" The girl was concerned about this. She didn't want to see anybody's daddy get into trouble.
However, her thoughts were soon shoved aside by something Kale said. "Evolved...?" She'd heard something about Pokemon related to her... Hmm... she'd have to ask her daddy about this later...

"What does it mean to sign books?" She asked of Kale, maybe Piper was right? Maybe that was something bad to do. Surely his father wouldn't do something bad though.
Fenrir tilted her ears forward, looking quite curious about the whole evolving thing and how that worked, "Really? Evolved?" She mused out loud, "Thats neat." She wondered if that meant she would evolve at some point since she was a Pokemon too, "Do all Pokemon evolve?"

"No, no, see, my dad, he writes the books. So I guess its like, um, getting an autograph?" Kale said, standing up for his father, whose hand was cramping terribly and would simply like it to end were it not for the death-glare he was receiving from his publisher. Not that Kale was aware of this.
"Um...I'm...Not sure." Kale said honestly on the topic of Evolution, or his 'Growth Spurt' as his father referred to it. "I don't know...Tanner hasn't had one...." Kale said honestly with a shrug. This was before he got accidentally pushed by a woman carrying at least forty bags of...stuff. Probably clothes.
"So, Fenrir, any idea what you wanna buy?"

"Ooooh..." Piper was relieved. Getting into trouble was never fun! "That's good! What kind of books does he write? Are they fairy tales?!"
Piper glanced over at her eevee friend to see what Fenrir's answer to Kale's question would be. There were so many cool shops in the mall!
