Because I suck major a** at comics and have never tired them before this one.

In preparation for the non-coming Art Fags Battle Royale Event, and also because I won't be around for likely a while, I'm posting this old stuff for you to munch on... Though it's old, 2006, and done quickly almost overnight...

In my defense, this has a whole lot of anatomical mistakes: limbs that are ridiculously long, faces that are twisted sometimes, etc... style of lines changed from one page to another because I had absolutely no time to do this... yeah. I probably only worked one bit harder on the clash image on the fourth image.

I'm asking, if this is presented as some kind of a scene, what is it lacking?

And sorry about the pirate face. I couldn't resist. ^^;

You need to rework some of your poses and probably the sequence of attacks.
I personally cannot stand excessive combat in comics because artists rarely make it concrete, so it's usually a jumble of still frames that are hard to follow. Also I would consider rethinking angles; if I have to spend a significant amount of time thinking about what you're showing me and how it pertains to the action as a whole, my attention span goes down
An example of that is the 5th one where you say right to left; once I got to that panel I already had no desire to follow the action anymore so I just skipped it
Also what's with those nostrils, those are snake nostrils

I think that there are a lot of interesting ideas here and that the approach is very good. Very dynamic, interesting.

I think that if you continue to apply this sort of emphasis on movement and interesting angles and add your newer, more solid grasp on anatomy that you could really make something very cool.

I'd pay a little closer attention to proportions. In the first frame both men have pretty small rib cages and large heads. Cartoonish, yes (not a problem) but later on in the fourth frame down (without any borders) you make them more realisticly proportioned.

Considering that, in the bottom picture of the triangular broken second frame, the guy running with the sword is very boxy, like an annorexic teenage boy. Even though he's a male, he could use a SLIGHT indent near the hip region. This might also be helped by making his ribcage a little larger, giving him the very masculine V shaped torso.

That's very encouraging. Thank you. smile
