Battle SystemWhat's the battle system?
Toa has developed a way to make the dusts grow that is more strength based and less RP/time based. Since the dusts are magical creatures and they bear a duty at hand, it seems to be the more reasonable way for them to grow. Later on, metaplots and events that involve battles will also be more realistic with an actual battle system in place.
The battle system also provides an alternate way for dusts to grow other than RPing. This way, owners who has less time on hand can also make their dusts grow in a timable fashion without having to drag everyone else down with long winded RPs.

Battle Procedure, pt1
Using the correct and consistent format in battles is essential as it avoids any mistakes and confusions and possible bloodshed from arguments. For this purpose, the battle format strictly follow a set format provided by the managers.
Here, a procedure and format is provided for all one-on-one training battles (dust vs. dust). Note that for event/metaplot battles, the rule may be different. In that case, a new set of rules will be clearly stated and all battles should follow that procedure instead.
How to start a battle:
If you would like to train with a fellow dust, simply post in the main shop to arrange it, and make a new thread in the training ground forum. It doesn't matter who starts the thread, but he/she should post the following:
Your opponent will then post the same thing for his/her own dust. After he/she is done doing so, make another post. This time, generate a random number from 1 to 2. If 1, you, whoever starts the thread goes first, and if 2, your opponent goes first.
During a battle:
On your turn, you can choose to do one of the following:
Attack your opponent Use a skill or Skip a turn due to abnormal status or other possibilities.
Attack:
If you choose to attack during your turn, announce that the dust is attacking the opponent. Normal attacks cannot be used in conjunction with an active skill unless stated otherwise.
To Attack, roll an 100 sided die. Your chance of hitting your opponent is 80+(your speed)-(opponent's speed). If you roll anything below or equal to that number, your attack will hit. If you roll anything above that number, your attack will miss.
Ex: Dust A has a speed of 5. Dust B has a speed of 7. If Dust A attacks Dust B. his/her chance of hitting would be 80+5-7=78. Anything less than or equal to 78 would hit. If Dust B attacks Dust A. his/her chance of hitting would be 80+7-5=82. Anything less than or equal to 72 would hit.
Critical: A successful dust attack can be marked critical if the resulting number is less than 5. In this case, the attack will deal double the original damage.
Total damage: Total damage = attack point under normal circumstances, and x2 attack point if critical. Sometimes, skills can influence a dust's total damage. Please keep an eye on different kind of skills and what they can do.
Skills
If you choose to use an active skill during your turn, announce that the dust is using a skill as well as which skill he/she is using. Active Skills cannot be used in conjunction with normal attacks unless stated otherwise.
Because there is a large variety of skills and different effects they may be causing, please pay attention to individual skills description and follow strictly on the description itself. A skill that does damage to the opponent has the same chance of hitting the opponent as an normal attack and will be influenced by the opponent's speed unless stated otherwise.
Skipping a Turn:
If, due to various circumstances, your dust is unable to attack or use skills, announce that your are skipping a turn, and list the reason(s) why it is skipped. You cannot skip a turn if your dust is still able to attack or use skills!

Battle procedure, Pt2
Ending a battle:
A battle ends when one of the dust's HP falls to 0. The loosing dust's owner will make a post indicating that the dust's HP has indeed fell to 0. In the same post, he/she will make the announcement that the battle has ended, and 5 exp is given to the winning dust, and 2 exp is given to the losing dust.
Level Up!
If either or both of the dusts have leveled up when the battle is over, the winning dust's owner will make a post after the end-battle announcement, stating which dust has leveled up, and 3 stat point is gained for the leveling dust.
For more information on how a battle is ran, visit the Battle Demonstration thread.
Abnormal Status:
Below is a list of possible abnormal statuses a dust can gain during a battle. Note that all abnormal statuses can be cured with some active skills. Some passive skills will also help to prevent some of the abnormal statuses (they cannot, however, cure any of the pre-existing statuses).
Poison: The dust will lose 10% of his/her HP for the next 3 turns. Sleep: For the next 3 turns, pick a number from 1 to 2. If 1, the dust wakes up and can attack the next turn. If 2, the dust continues to sleep and cannot use attack or skills until the 3 turns are up or a 1 is generated. Stun: Dust is unable to attack or use skill for 1 turn. Berserk: Dust's total damage is doubled. Roll 2 100 sided die instead of 1. Chances of hitting does not change (80+ your speed-opponent's speed). Lasts a total of 3 turns. Curse: For the next 5 turns, dust's SP will decrease by 20% each turn. Petrify:Dust is unable to attack for the remainder of the battle until the dust's HP reaches below 30%. Note non-damaging skills can still be used during this time. Distracted:Dust's passive skill is nullified for the next 3 turns. Silence: For the next 3 turns, the dust is unable to use any skills. Slow: or the next 3 turns, critical attacks will not be in effect (damage will not double if the resulting number is below 5). Chaos: For the remainder of the battle, if a dust misses the opponent when performing a normal attack, the damage is dealt to him/herself instead. Undead: for the next 5 turns, any healing skills dealt to the dust will deal damage instead. During these 5 turns, the opponent is able to use healing skills against you. Doom: At the end of the 5th turn this status is activated, the dust's HP will automatically drop to 0.
