Storei
Strolling out from the safety of the nest of rocks, Yanisin had wandered a good ways before he finally hit an area were some sparse trees grew and he cold feel soft cool grass beneath his paws. There had to be something here to hunt, he thought, turning his bright orange eyes across the small plains. So far, there wasn't any movement to be seen. So, prowling benath some trees, he had hardly taken notice of anything else around him. He needed to find food and find it quick. There were mouths to feed back in the cave.

Kijeshi yawned lazily, his body a motionless lump among the grass. He inwardly cursed himself for falling asleep again, blaming the comfort brought on by the shade of the trees around the area. Despite his desire to get up, he lay still, still exhausted from his journeying across the savannah. The male yawned again and turned to face away from the tree. Kij had his eyes almost half-way closed, so he hadn't noticed any sort of movement nearby. Caramel eyes stared at the vastness of the lands before them, and he yawned again. "Just another...boring day.."

At those simple, but few words, Yanisin's claws extended forward and they dug into the ground. A defensive growl seeped from the depths of his throat and he snapped his orange eyes to the leopard who was hanging lazily in the tree above him, "Who goes there?" His deep voice rumbled in demand. He would not tollerate giving any info or any clue to where his family was hidden. He could not take any chances. what if this was a spy from his pride?

And from another's lip he heard a reply to his comment, and his eyes widened immediately, body tensing a bit though he was out of reach to anyone but another leopard. Kij's eyes soon landed on a male lion a few feet from beneath the tree. Upon seeing who had replied, the leopard smiled. The lion's snarl neither frightened nor made him feel threatened, at least not while he was up here. The question was simple enough, so after letting out another yawn he answered. "Me," he answered. "Kijeshi. And you are?"

"I give my name not to someone who has not shown me his heart," the other lion snarled in defense. He backed away from the tree a bit, in order to give himself a better view of the leopard. So far...Nothing bad yet, but his pride was tricky. Besides, there was nothing wrong with being safe. There were other lives on his shoulder. "What are you doing here?" Alright, so this wasn't his land or anything, but he had to ask.

Kijeshi snorted and finally sat up, beginning to stretch. "I honestly have no idea what you just said," he commented while stretching (and continuously yawning..). "But whatever it was is no concern of mine. I don't particularly care what your name is anyhow." The male finished stretching and lay back down again, though he kept his head up so he could keep a good eye on the lion. He looked too tense, especially since he seemed to be a fairly large lion, so Kij smirked. "What do you care what I'm doing here lion? I've done nothing to call your attention, have I?"
Storei
"No, you have not. You speak honestly," Yanisin sighed and he tried to get his muscles to loose their tenseness. It was a hard thing to do, concidering he was as jumpy as a junebug in may. Who could blame him, though? He had a lot burdening his shoulders. Settling himself back down onto his muscled haunches, Yanisin kept a steady gaze at Kijeshi, "You see, I'm a bit jumpy...Things have happened and I haven't recovered from them."
Keitsuke
"I see." Kij felt he couldn't relate, so merely shrugged off the lion's statement. He relaxed his body as well, a small smirk still remaining on his maw as it always did. Kij examined the other male a bit more, taking note of his slightly sluggish movements. "You seem tired, lion. What brings you out here at this hour?" He raised a brow in honest curiousity. Kijeshi knew that if he were in that state, he'd still be down for the count in some tree...wherever he fell asleep the night before.
Storei
"Food," the big lion said in response. He said the word with a tired breath, as if he were speaking with the very hunger that tightened and pulled at his stomach. With a tilted head, Yanisin asked, an edge of hope in his voice, but his gaze as steady as always, "Do you know where I can find any? Some game? Leftovers? Anything? Is there anything you can see from your view in the tree's high branches?"
Keitsuke
The leopard frowned a little, but took a good look around the surrounding area within his view. He did spot something for the lion, however withheld the information for a moment. "You're in a bit of luck," he said finally. "There's a small herd of gazelle moving west of here. They've stopped for a drink at the stream, I believe." A gentle breeze swept past them, and Kijeshi paused to close his eyes and enjoy it. "However, I don't think you'll have much luck with your hunt in that condition.."
Storei
"Well, what do you suggest?" Yanisin retorted bitterly, lifting himself up higher to peer over the grass and see what the leopard was opinting out. He could sort of see, and he sighed at the distance. But he was a father now and he had to provide for his children and his mates. "I have mouths to feed besides my own. I must hunt, despite my condition."
Keitsuke
He moved instantly, as soon as the lion looked away Kijeshi had swiftly made his way down the tree and sat at it's base. "You have a family, I presume?" he asked, eyes focused on the nameless lion. Now that they were on even ground he was much more vulnerable. The only thing that really compelled him to leave the safety of the tree was the lion's condition, and nothing more. However, he kept his distance, knowing that he was still no chance against a fully grown lion, weak though he was at this particular time. "Well, I'm fully rested, lion, and I could use a good run after a nap like the one I just had."
Storei
"Yes," Well, there was no denying that so why should he. What Yanisin had to do was protect them, so it shouldn't be bad in mentioning them to someone who seemed to be...alright. But the leopard's offer struck a debate in Yanisin's heart. He had to do this himself, he believed, and he was stubborn in that aspect. The idea of a leopard going and bringing dinner for his family was almost too much for the large lion to take. "...I do not need to fully rely on your strengths, leopard. I can help as well."
Keitsuke
Kijeshi didn't want to challenge the lion's words. He was in enough danger as it was, speaking on level grounds with a lion slightly larger than himself, and that much stronger. Not to mention one that had the intention of attacking should he have said the wrong thing only moments earlier. "Fair enough," he replied. "Shall we go?" So he started to talk westward, then stopped and looked back. "And I gave you my name, did I not?"
