Okay, so in my county, every middle school and high school band goes to an adjudication festival, and we play 3 or 4 songs and get judged on them at a school with all the other bands. And we get these big test grades at the end of the year (it's required), and our score goes into that grade. It's in March, and we just started sight reading pieces for it. I don't remember all of what we're playing, but we're doing Moscow (it's really cool) and a piece by Robert W. Smith. I don't remember what it's called...but I know it has the word Crossover in it. xd
So, are other people doing this? If you are, what are you playing?

My concert band's playing Moscow for our concert tomorrow (Moscow 1941?). It's a good piece. We'll go to contest in March, too, but I don't think we have our pieces picked out yet.

Our contest is next week. Concert band is playing Moscow, 1941 and Flight of Valor, our wind ensemble is playing Overture to a New Beginning and Prelude and Rondo. Prelude and Rondo is a fun piece, probably my favorite of the contest pieces.

in my state "MA" it's MICCA. i only remember one of our songs-Simple Gifts, except for the third movement. 8th grade. we got a silver. and we got points taken off because "there were some dynamics that u did that weren't in my music so i got confused"
and in 7th grade one of our songs was "Joy" and i really liked that song. we got gold that year, and got to play at symphony hall.
