Wow, I hope all of you enjoy getting eaten as you try to Kenshin some zeds and end up getting your guts handed to you because at the last second you realize "wait, I'm an idiot trying to fight zombies with a Katana! This isn't some crappy AMV! OH GOD THEY'RE EATING MEEEEEEE!"
A small high-capacity .22 pistol, my .380 cal automatic pistol, and for kicks, a Jackhammer fully automatic street-sweeper shotgun with one of those big 50 round drum mags.
For melee definitely a machete because it's light and easy to use, not to mention versatile, hardy, and cheap + readily available even on Z-Day. That or a rounded shovel, yes this simple garden tool, if sharpened somewhat, makes for an amazingly effective anti-zombie weapon.
so that's mine. I'd be carrying other things, to deal with raiders and LAMOE's but that's my anti-zombie loadout.

wow you guys have very interesting weapon choises I'd never expect a shovel to be a weapon. I mean a pich fork yeah maybe a 1/4' round 2" pipe or hammer but I've never thought of a shovel
But try to respect other peoples choises they have reasons for chosing it, it may complement another weapon in there arsinal and save you.
Keep in mind that the more and the more powerful you bump up your gun choises in the selection will add weight! Sure the gun is light weight but ammo might not be and I like to think of myself a little stronger then others but we're not as strong as you may think we are.
There's a saying in the Army it goes ounces add up to pounds; pounds add up to pain and before you know it your in for 10 days of pain and to that you need to factor just how many days you're going to be out there because your not only carring a weapon with you but your also carring food(hunting animals in the winter might be hard), water(duh you need it to live), cloths(unless you like being coverd in diseased blood and gore), med supplies(hopefully), some sort of explosive(C4, flash bangs, frags), lock picking devices(or you can give away your location by breaking a window), extra ammo for the guns(Unless you prefer to go pro mode and try to take'em on with a knife) and some sort of rope or wire (traps, alarms and all that good stuff)

I would have to say my weapon of choice is probably the sickle. A rare weapon, and it's never mentioned in survival guides, but is very good for decapitation. Especially one with a nice foot-long handle, which provides great power and nice range. Sharpen them a bit, and they're a must-have for zombie fighting.

I will have to say either my grandfathers single shot bolt-action rimminton model 41 .22, or a CZ 527 varmit. For melee I'd pick a Shashka or Confederate cavalry sword.

The #1 weapon of all is your own body because if you can't wield/shot the weapon if might as well be a club. So said in shape and just rememeber the old story of the 2 hikers in the woods, when an anrgy bear started to chase after them. The one open up his pack to get his running shoes. When the other hiker ask "what are you doing, they a bear coming to maul us?" He answered "I don't have to out run the bear, I just have to out run you."
