...The Thrift Shop...

.The Idea.

Quote:
So basically for this shop, I was thinking just a simple thrift store/antique shop (some of the stuff "sold" will be more antique-y than not, which is why I add that) where your character goes in, buys an item that is lyke ttly magical and turns into a kid, thus creating crazy hijinks all around.

The shop would be RP intensive, though I guess in a laid back manner. Journals are required, but I'd expect a post a month or something like that and a couple of RP threads between, maybe? The setting would be in Gaia, the parent character could be whatever you want (one of your original characters or one of your other "pets"), the pet would have unique stages, and I'm not putting a limit down on how many of these critters you can own (ie, as many as you want, but please know your limits, kthx).

Also, the pets? Would be completely free. The reason for this being is that I want to get a lot more practice in drawing humanoid type things, but I'm having trouble in coming up with my own ideas on what to draw. So by combining the shop with the ideas of the players for their critters, I can get a wider range and variety on what I want to draw.

Also this way, you don't have much of an obligation to the shop other than to RP. That way, if you need to drop, you don't have to worry about being out 100k or something that you can't use anymore. It also makes me feel less bad in case something comes up in life and I have to go slower with things, meaning you don't get your art as fast as you would.

The final thing I can think of right now for the shop is that it won't have an actual thread; it'll all be in a guild. I'd be able to keep track of things easier that way, so it's mostly for my sanity.

.The Stages.

Quote:
Each pet will have a total of five stages. The stages are as follows:

Object | The object your character gets from the shop. You get to choose what this is. | Last a week, maybe? At least until I get the art done.

Toddler | Surprise! Your object disappears and you get a sweet, lovable toddler in its place. | Lasts a month.

Child | The kid gets older. | Lasts two months.

Teen | The kid gets even older and hits puberty. Have fun~ | Lasts three months.

Adult | The final stage. Go out in the world. Get a job. Freeloader. | Lasts FOREVER.

.Breeding.

Quote:
Yes, they can breed. I'm... not going to limit what they can breed with, so your other Gaian characters they develop relationships with are okay with me. If it's an original character, cool, but if it's a character/pet (humanoid only, for the love all things fluffy) from another shop, I'm going to need written permission from that shop owner sent directly to me.

I've seen other shops allow this, so hopefully that's not too odd? They can also start breeding in the teen stage, but that's only if you have a good enough reason. Adults, don't care. Teens, needs to be brought up with me, though.

Breeding will also be free, but there will be slots for it. Probably one kid per couple, though I will probably allow more as rewards (such as twins, triplets, whatever). I'm also debating on whether or not the slots will be prompt based, as if done like a flatsale. I won't have to worry about that for a bit, but yeah.

Also, I'm allowing same sex couples.

.Flatsales.

Quote:
Flatsales will be prompt based. Depending on my work load, there'll probably be two to three slots per flatsale. In each flatsale, you get to pick the item you want your kid to start from.

For example, I'm doing up a couple for myself and one is starting from a ceramic rabbit figure and the other from an antique knife set. The rabbit figure child will have the characteristics of a rabbit, while the knife child is going to have blades along his arms. It'll be stuff like that.

At some point, I might allow repeat objects, like two pocketwatch kids, just so I can see how to style them differently from each other to make two unique characters. (Please guys remember that I'm mostly doing this for my artistic benefit, so I hope no one is really touchy when it comes to certain things like that.)

During flatsales, not only will you have to answer a prompt, but you'll also have to give me some keywords for certain things, like personality, types of clothing, colours, etc. That way, I can dress, pose, and give expressions accordingly.

.The Art.

Quote:
The art itself will be done in anime style and will be fully coloured. Currently, I don't have any anime pictures in my gallery, but here some examples of what I have so far:

My gallery, yo.

I'll try to have examples more specific to the shop up either tonight or tomorrow after I hook my scanner up.

I'm most likely going to go ahead with this shop, but I wanted to see what interest I could garner first. So... anyone interested? Or have suggestions? Or questions?

The guild itself is also open, so if you are interested and want to join, send a request. I'll let you in once everything is set up. The guild is here.
