Seraphiel's lithe body cut through the dark depths of the ocean as though an eagle through the clouds. It felt refreshing to get out of the den every once in a while, and though no one accompanied him he never really felt lonely.
Darting to and fro, he relished the crisp feeling on his smooth skin. Never could he compare the water to anything else in the world. When he was still in the heavens above he would've given anything to become physical. Now in the human world, he had wanted to enjoy it to the fullest.

A burst of strength boosted him out of the water, and for that moment he felt as though he could touch the stars, it was truly amazing.

Softly, he landed onto the rough sand of the beach. His wing-like fins stretched and folded back, finished with their task of guiding him through the water. All he would do now was enjoy the serenity of his surroundings, alone but content.

As the waves broke upon the shore, a Pupfin rested on a rock jutting out into the water, her body a perfect match to the light that shown down upon her as if she had been made of moonlight in the first place. Her tail curled around her side and one paw hung languidly off of the side of the rock, dangling above the soft push and pull of the sea. She had kept to herself for so long, away from others not of her adopted family, that she had grown accustomed to solitude, to just listening to the world around her.

Lily drew the paw back up and rested her head on her paws, watching the horizon. She never watched for anything in particular... Just... watched. If she turned her head away from the horizon, she might just see the other angelic walk out of the water, but of course she didn't.

Perhaps it was fate nipping at his earfins that made him turn around to gaze upon the water, but as he slowly lay his sapphire eyes upon the far horizon he saw her. It wasn't hard after all, she stuck out like a sore thumb amongst the soft glow of the moon.

Could it be? He had never seen another angelic pupfin before, demons yes, but to gaze upon the celestial beauty of another angel had caught him. He had no other option, he had to speak with her.

Ever so slowly he approached her, not wanting to startle and potentially scare her away.
"Excuse me?" he hadn't even attempted to climb up the rock, after all she might be out in the open alone for a reason.

Lily twitched a bit, startled as her head whipped around at the sound of another voice. Her face was polite, though her eyes held the familiar sadness that she tried to conceal. Her breath caught when her gaze fell on the newcomer.
Another angel stood before her, wet from the sea, but there, real. She hadn't seen another angelic since... well, she'd only ever really seen a small handful of other pupfins as a mortal, so he was definitely out of the norm.
"He-Hello," she replied, starting off a little, pausing, and then finishing the greeting in her soft tone.

A sense of relief ran through him when he heard the soft reply. Yet somehow, when his eyes met her's he could feel an overwhelming feeling of sadness.

"May I ask you why you are sitting out here by yourself?" his voice was hushed, and though he tried to hide it, his voice carried a worried tone.

"Oh, I... I was just admiring the view. I just happened to be the only one out here, that's all," Lily replied, sitting up fully and looking over her shoulder at the moon-kissed waves. The second part may or may not have been true. She wasn't really certain if they were completely alone, but she hadn't come with anyone on purpose.
"It is very beautiful, don't you think?" she asked, her tone still soft as she turned back to look at him, a small smile on her maw.

"Breathtaking. I doubt you'd find a more beautiful sight in the heavens." He sat back on his haunches, allowing the waves to gently caress his tail and ankles.
"A bit lonely though at times when you're the only one to view it, however." His eyes turned to the rolling waves, dark shadows and glistening moonlight seemed in constant motion with each other.

Lily nodded a bit at his statements, looking down for a moment before returning her gaze to the majestic view.
"It does get- I mean, yes I suppose you're right. Sometimes it's nice to get away, though," she replied quickly, wrapping her tail around her paws. Her "wings" moved a bit, folded down along her back as they currently were.
"My name is Lily, by the way."

A curious look crossed his face as he heard her speak and he turned to face her once more. Before he could respond to her words she had introduced herself and he took a moment to think on what to say.
"Forgive me for not introducing myself sooner. My name is Seraphiel." He lowered his head and smiled softly, bowing to her. "It is a please to meet you Lily." A pause. "May I ask who you would be getting away from?"

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Seraphiel," Lily replied and glanced away at his question, considering how to answer.
"I have a large adopted family. It's nice sometimes to have some quiet, alone time." It wasn't a lie. True, she did like to get away from the little ones and sometimes even the older, more mature creatures of her "family". But, the fact that she felt alone among them, that her heart was sad because of that feeling, that was more of a reason to go off on her own for a bit.

"I understand." His reply was simple and curt, he wasn't one to pry unless he felt that he could help.
"I hope that I am not disrupting your peace. If you would prefer me gone, simply ask. Though I am enjoying being in your presence, it feels very... natural to me." He gave her an innocent smile, and wrapped his tail around his body.

Lily's head-fins rose abruptly and she shook her head.
"Oh, no. Please, don't leave. It's... nice to know that I'm not the only one from the heavens," she quickly assured him, smiling a bit more naturally. She wanted, needed a friend. Especially one that she could relate to as much as she could with another angelic. Pups were cute, but pups and demonics... well, she didn't want to run into another one of those anytime soon.

"As you wish." He shifted a bit, making himself more comfortable. It felt a bit silly that she was sitting on an elevated surface and he below her, almost as though she were on a pedestal of some kind.
"To tell you the truth, I had heard whispers of you. Very faint rumors made mainly amongst the humans around the docks." His eyes remained on her, expression soft. "Ever since I fist heard of you I had wanted to meet you. I had thought that, perhaps it was a bit lonely for you."

Lily smiled at his considerate comment and nodded her head a bit.
"It wasn't so much, at first... But after a while it did get lonely," she replied and stood. She, too, had noticed that she was kind of looking down at him and she imagined that it wasn't the most comfortable thing for him. So, she padded down off of the rock and sat beside him, looking out at the waves.
"Were you lonely?"

Eyes remained on her as she moved to the spot next to him, but as she turned to face the waves so did he. He mulled over the question a bit, having never thought much about it; after all he had been adopted into a rather large pack and was almost never left alone.
"Truth to be told, I never felt a lack of kinship amongst the other Pupfin. Many of them have welcomed me as a friend and an equal." He was a bit evasive with the question, but this was the first time he was in the presence of another angelic. The feeling he felt to be here was more different than with any other Pupfin. "To be here, however, feels more natural than anything I've ever experienced with another Pupfin. Perhaps I was a bit... lonely too."
