It was the end of winter, and the snow was beginning to melt. Far in the distance, a glowing, red Ulaya sat underneath a tree all alone. His appearance definetely did not attract others and his attitude was not very welcoming either. His name was Kanji, and he lived alone. He naturally despised other ulaya and found no positive reason to hang around them.

A flick of wet snow flung itself onto Kanji's nose from the tree top above. When his eyes met the droplet upon his nose, it instantly turned to liquid. He sighed and mumbled to himself, "I am neither "hot" enough to heat that so quickly, nor is my mind that disturbed."

Odd happenings like this occured often around Kanji, and on many unexplainable accounts. He had been this way for as long as he could remember, though, and because of this, never felt much like he belonged in the first place.

The end of winter was, for Tehila, a sorrowful parting with a close part of her. In a way, she felt exposed by the melting of the white snow around every bend of the creek more than just physically. However, this did not stop her from opening her enjoying the coming of the new season, the emerging bloom of flowers and such.

A pair of vivid sapphire eyes lurked through the distant land, letting all the dull music of conversation fall to a low murmur while she focused on the distant greens. Her pale paws led her further and further into the distance until a flash of a strange color caught her curious eye. It was another Ulaya! He was of a deep red sticking out amounst the emerging green backdrop.

Tehila hesitated. Did she want to approach? Perhaps he wished to be left alone? However, she decided to give herself a 'go' until she saw clear signs of hostility ... then again, even that might not deter her. Setting an easy trot towards the male, she emerged from on side of him and slowing down as she nears him. She stopped a fair distance away and paused for a moment then spoke. "A fair day, is it not?"

As Kanji continued to glare at his nose, he saw an angel-like female approach his side. Well kind of, anyway, she stood a significant distance away from him. Though, he could not blame her.

Expecting her to be like many others and quickly scurry away once they got close enough to look into his eyes, Kanji was suprised when she spoke.
As much as he would have loved to typically reply No, actually it's not. It's the same as any other, and quite frankly, I believe it sucks, he couldn't help but be at least a little bit kinder to her. Kanji wasn't sure what it was about her than made him feel almost guilty about his natural dislike for Ulaya, but she most definetely did.

He looked up at her and with a small and polite, but not friendly, grin and answered with his deep voice, "I suppose." Kanji eyed her for a moment before returning his gaze towards the melting snow on the ground again.

As his head turned, the blaze of his eyes made her shutter through the back of her spine. A deep dread ran through her body and a repelling force almost fearing that the fire would burn the natural coolness of her pelt. Yes, normal ulaya were wise and obeyed their instincts. However, Tehila always had a terrible habit of rejecting the norms.

She simply watched him quietly for a moment as though trying to analyze his words carefully before speaking. "You're quite right," she agreed even though there was technically nothing to agree with since he didn't really voice much of an opinion. "I should say it's a terrible day. The sun is much to bright and the the temperature much too hot. The ideal weather: cold and white."

She paused again. "Your eyes are... quite strange."

Kanji played with the words in his mouth before attempting to respond. Half of him agreed with her, but the other half thought the complete opposite. The cold kept others away...but the heat and the brightness seemed to send flames of energy flowing through his body, keeping his mood less dampened. For the sake of appearing much more optomistic than he was, he agreed with her, "I'd have to agree. But unfortunately the weather doesn't seem too." He looked up at the brightly shining sun above; pausing before he continued, "Thanks..I guess... You know everyone else just runs away when they see me, why have you not run yet?" Kanji looked up at the white female again, staring directly into her eyes. His flames were calm, just as his mind was, but they flicked with curiousity as he sat waiting.

They were like who opposites of a spectrums; one favoring the cool breath of winter and the other content with the blaze of the sun. It was like a scene written by irony.

"Oh, it's fine though. It was a good long winter," Tehila muttered, letting a blissful smile grace her maw at the memory. However, that was soon interrupted by his rather blunt remark. She didn't dislike the forwardness; in fact, she was a ulaya that prefered it.

She looked on thoughfully. "I dont see a point in running... unless I'm being chased." A light, melodic laughter rang with the crisp bells clasped around her neck. She then grinned playfully. "Unless your planning to."

His eyes flashed with unexpected excitement. His attitude towards this Ulaya wasn't like him; though, he wasn't complaining. It'd been a very long time since he found someone that didn't drive him to insanity.
He wondered if she meant what she said. "Well I suppose that depends..." his deep voice nearly purring with the words, "are you wanting a chase?"
The tiny wings on his hind legs fluttered with anticipation.

Tehila shuttered lightly at his works but never ceasing her playful grin. She blue wings flickered lightly, mirroring his anticipation. She tilted her head to one side, letting her long mane casade down one should and tried to read his movement with her blue eyes. The fur on her back rose and she chuckled softly. "Well, do I have a choice?"

The muscles in her limbs tensed but she took a few steps towards him. "After all, you can't won't let me get away with this, now will you?" In a flash she darted towards him, nipped his shoulder before darting off laughing.

Kanji reacted with frightening speed. "Definetely not." He lept to his feet and sprung after her. Catching up to her was far too easy. The problem instead, was he wasn't quite sure what he was suppose to do now. He didn't interact with anyone; ever.

He allowed for his natural instincts to kick in and leapt into the air above her before pouncing down upon her. Soon, he stood hovering above her in a pinning position, his eyes fixated on hers. Kanji was breathing hard and his heart sounded like thunder in his ears.

Tehila littered her stride was pauses as though fare too distracted by Kanji's approach to run away like a properly frightened creatures. The sight of the red ulaya suprised her when she suddenly realized how quick he was on his feet. She herself was not at all a very fast ulaya and so he managed to catch up to her easily.

She let a soft 'omph' out as he pounced on her and suceeded in pinning her body. Pouting at the short-lived game, she had some trouble wiggling free from under him since he was clearly bigger and stronger than her dainty self. However, being small, she managed to wiggled out from under him. Once freed, she laughed and pouced on him as revenge, intent on toppling him over.

Taken off guard by her quick wiggling, Kanji hadn't expected her to pounce on him in return. As he felt her four paws against his side, he knew he was going down. Kanji, with the female on top, was sent rolling a few feet in the damp grass before coming to a stop.

Completely out of his element, and unsure of what he should do, Kanji stared blankly at the female Ulaya who was now laying on him (for the most part) after their little tumble.

((Sorry if I god-modded that at all, I didn't mean to at all if I did...))

((Same here. But don't worry about it. XD Excuse the short post, ish tired. ><))

"Pinned ya," she announced with the smug and mischievous tone of hers. Laughing easily, she stared at his blazing eyes for a second before quickly still growing uncomfortable holding his gaze. However, that didn't stop her playfulness. She grinned, "Didn't think you would go down so easily"

((No worries! ^^ Sometimes the short ones are better. xP))

Kanji looked away a bit embarassed but with a small smirk.
"Me neither..."

Suprisingly, the feel of having the female above him was some what "comfortable." For a moment he just lay there, for once, enjoying the company. Maybe it was about time for a change he thought, though he could defintely hear his inner voice loudly arguing against him.

Kanji took a step towards being social; looking up at her again, he said obnoxiously , "So..I might need your name if you plan on getting this close to me, often."

The white figure grinned at his comment, quite proud of herself at the moment. However, she was just begining to think he looked a little too comfortable in his submissive postures. Those sapphire eyes gleamed with their usual mischief. Perhaps she was started to plot something evil yet again. Her flushed at first when hearing his daring request then let a soft grin settle on her lips.

"My name?" She seemed to debate whether or not she should offer it up so easily... and she decided no. Her ivory teeth bared playfully, tossing her long mane back from her face. "Well, stranger," she growled, "I don't think you deserve my name, getting pinned so easily. Do you beg to differ?"

Kanji's eyes flashed as he quickly grasped the female and flipped her over. Despite his swiftness and speed, he made sure to lay her down again, softly. After making sure she was completely on the ground, he placed a paw on each shoulder. Leaning down close to her ear, he whispered with that soothing, deep voice of his, "Indeed, I do."
