It was a Saturday afternoon that Sabrina decided to go visit the mansion again. She really needed some pointers on Lex. Perhaps they could help her to understand some of his eccentricities? Certainly they had a file on him somewhere! He'd been adopted out before!
Lex was sound asleep as she drove up and didn't thoroughly wake up until he was already in her arms as she was walking up to the manor. He looked around, blinkety-blink, then opened his eyes wide and looked around some more, "NO, NOOOOOOoooo!!!!!" and began to thrash about. NOT HERE!!
"If you keep that up, I'm going to drop you! STOP it!" Sabrina had to pause in her walk to regain her balance. "Lex, what's wrong? It's ok, shh.."
"I HATE THIS!
Sabrina rolled her eyes, held the thrashing Lex closer, and went to ring the doorbell. Of course. He never had any surprising news.

Aylee listened to the doorbell right once, then twice... Three times. That was more than a little odd, as Ryuu was usually at the door as soon as it had rung once. Maybe he'd shut down again? With a sigh she set down her tools, pushed her goggles up on top of her head, and took to the stairs out of the basement. Once she was on the main floor, she crossed to the other side of the main stairs, hit the red button, and then went to open the door. It would take Ryuu a good two minutes or so to reboot, after all.
On the other side of the door was a girl just about her own height and a rather squirmy toddler Aylee recognized as one off the Sin'aeis children that had been staying in the mansion a few weeks ago. Now THAT had been a confusing time. "Hi! Can I help you?" Hopefully the girl wasn't trying to give him back. Not that Aylee would mind THAT much, he WAS an adorable little kid.

"NO!! Go away! Bad, not here...We go!" Lex squealed, then was surprised to find the bottom of his own shirt stuck in his mouth.
"Hello. I was wondering if Lex had a file or history or anything to help me understand him." Sabrina felt a little silly now that she was saying it. It was like asking if raising a child came with a manual, "Or, you know," she rushed on to try to explain herself, cheeks reddening, "if possibly there are any history of. . "
"Going HOME now," Lex squealed, having spit out the shirt and finished staring at Sabrina in surprise.
". . .problems or something with him?" She frowned, "Who should I talk with?"
"I ha--dislike this!"

The struggling toddler was adorable in Aylee's eyes. It had been a long time since there'd been a child Lex's age around the mansion. But then, he wasn't hers, so she shouldn't really be talking. In fact, she was so busily marveling at the cuteness that it took her time to register the words.
"Files..? Oh, er. Probably not, since my son isn't really that organized. He kinda takes that from me, I think." Yes, Aylee had a lot of bad traits, though many of them SHE didn't think were bad. Hey, disorganization could be good! If you were, uh, trying to hide things from robbers... maybe. Yeah, that's really great rational right there.
"I suppose the only one who would know would be my son in question, Chaco, but he's out right now. I sent him downtown to buy something for me. He's got wings and all, so he's usually fast about it. Do you want to wait?"

Sabrina hesitated. What sort of place was this? Weren't you supposed to...well, they were children, and you couldn't just adopt out children without papers and files and...That sort of stuff had to be organized. It wasn't like they could just give the kids away in baskets or something.
"I guess we can wait." She didn't have any other plans for the day.
Repeating things and struggling just was not getting Lex the results he wanted. He screwed up his face in toddler-annoyance. Then he got a brilliant idea! What sort of thing was it Sabrina always wanted? And what sort of things did the other kids always do at the daycare? He was already twisted around with his back toward Aylee, so now he leaned back, put his hands up on Sabrina's cheek, and waited until she looked at him. "Home. Now. Mm....Please?" That funny foreign word she made him say all the time. "Eeee!!"
The squeal came as Sabrina hugged him tighter. "Home later."
Lex returned to squalling and squirming.

Oh ho ho, that, in fact, was what they DID do, however. Poor little basketed children. But then, most adopted children in Gaia didn't seem to come with complicated forms or whatnot. Just shoved at parents and away with ye! In fact, had anyone ever mentioned it before, Aylee probably would have tried to keep SOME papers, but it was a bit late for that now, eh?
The little toddler was so fascinating to watch. He was a pretty decent actor, and seemed to dislike the word Please, which made Aylee grin. It made her wish she too had a little child of her own. What element was this one again...? She stared at him silently for a few moments, thinking. It was... Ice cube or something like that, right? That made things easy.
Leaning down towards the little toddler she said, "Hey kiddo, how would you like something to eat while you and your mum wait? I think we've got some popsicles and ice cream in the kitchen." She looked up at Sabrina, "If that's okay with your mum, that is." They had ice cubes, too. But that didn't sound as enticing as popsicles and ice cream, most likely.

Lex stopped hollering at the trigger-words. Popsicles. Ice cream. Screaming at top of lungs. Popsicles. Ice cream. Deciding to hate this new lady. Popsicles. Ice cream. Making the pointed fact that Sabrina was not his mom. Popsicles. Ice cream.
He perhaps stared at Aylee for a good ten seconds--long enough for Sabrina to accept the invitation inside and nod her agreement to the offer for the todder herself--before making a decision, "NOT a MOMMA!! I HATE mommas, is Sabeena! Ice keem?" He wiggled his hands out for Aylee. She had promises of ice cream. So much better than Sabrina.
"Please?" Sabrina prompted, then repeated it--then repeated it again as Lex just leaned out further to Aylee, and repeated it a fourth time, more forceful, while half-turning away from Aylee.
Lex let out a squall, "Pees---Pleassssssssse!"
"And carrots," Sabrina grinned, either following Aylee now with Lex, or letting Aylee take him if she offered and following them both.
"Please and cah-ets." Lex repeated dutifully, then clasped his hands to his ears as Sabrina started giggling.
