 Koi lazed about like she had been for a while. Since her belly grew more and more it seemed, she tended to rest. She suspected many cubs inside of her... she felt kicks... savage little blows that were no doubt from a strong female... only a female of Koi's would kick that hard. She winced from one of these attacks on her innards, shifting her position. She felt a funny tenderness and she was feeling moody. She shifted again, streatching her back legs with a moan.
liza? She called to him, knudging him softly with her front paw. She blinked her purple eyes at him, seeking some of his attention. He was the best male in the pride and he was constantly at her side... if she needed him he was there... Now she wanted some comfort... she was not used to her belly feeling so oddly.

Liza had been half dozing at her side, but the soft yellow male reacted instantly to his name. His head shot up and he smiled his long black tufted tail twitching. "YYes maa'am." He stutters his head lowering a touch to make it seem like he was bowing even though he was on the ground.
"Is something wrong?" The big yellow male could sence that something was amis he just didn't know what, it was as if the very aoir had changed int he den.

Koi winced as another kick landed on her side. She sighed and rolled over, anxious for some reason. She sort of knew how motherhood went and remembered what her mother had taught her but otherwise-she was stuck. She mumbled something that was out of earshot and then turned to Liza with a worried look on her face.
I feel really odd Liza.. and the babies are kicking so hard it hurts... I can't sleep... She said, shuttinge her purple eyes and moaning in her discomfort.
She then lifted an eye lid and gazed at her stomach. Wait a minute... she was sure that those pains were to strong to be kicks...

Liza wagged his tail a couple more times before settling still to listen to what the orange female had to say. Crawling on his belly he inched towards her tence stomach with his ears flattened against his head, those ears vanishing in his dark mane.
Carefully he leaned forwards and touched her rotund side, tentatively, with his dark muzzle. "Th..Th..the little me's are wr..wr..wrestless." He stuttered looking up to Koi for answers as to why her stomach moved so oddly.

Koi smiled seeing Liza at her stomach... he was so kind and sweet but there was this childlike attribute that she loved. He would fit in finely with the children. She winced as another jolt struck her-she felt her toes flex.
This was it... the time was nearing and Koi could feel it. She let out the breath she had been holding. Liza.. I think... that they are anxious to get out... I-I think i-it may b-be close t-t-t-to the time... She said, her purple eyes squeezing shut as another throw tore at her insides. She didn't like this... damn those cubs.... damn them.
No... they were a blessing. Koi was to be a mother... Liza's blood line was being passed into the pride he belonged in. She smiled despite her pain and fear. This was a blessing. I t-think they will be here very very soon...

The big dope of a male didn't know quite how to react. He watched her stomach tence and relax as he lay there, his dark eyes fixed on her stomach. How many children would be born this day? he smiled and inched up towards Koi's face instead.
The dark maned male never did anything without permission usually, but something in his head had clicked, this was an exceptional situation. He was about to see cubs, HIS cubs for the first time. He was about to witness his children come in to the world by the female whom had returned him home.
Comfort was needed. Licking at her face the custard yellow male groomed her ears and shoulders gently. "Just relax." His stutter faded for a moment as he concentrated hard to help Koi through the pain that she was clearly in. "I'm here to help you through this. You know I won't leave you." He grinned then looking back down towards her stomach, he was ready to help in any way he could while Koi delivered her litter. He would be a good male, a great father to these cubs, he would teach them the right ways, he would teach them to respect females and tell them the history of the pride. he would even tell them of his own mother.
But first they had to get through this and unless Koi ordered him away, he wasn't going any where.

Koi flexed her feet again and gritted her teeth as another pain shot from her hips to her spine. Oh, this was horrible. She looked to Liza and tried to give him a comforting look-but it was taken over by a pained on.
Oh-ohShe murmured. This was what life cost a mother, pain? She felt her stomach flex and she cried out slightly, biting her lip... she didn't want to admit her weakness to pain. But it was just liza... and as the words left his maw, she stared at him open mouthed... he wasn't stuttering...
L-liza?! She said in astonishment. Then with eyes shut and claws digging into the earth-a yellow cub was born.
Koi sighed and panted for a moment, before cleaning her first born off. She was astonished... a female... yellow... like liza.

Liza grinned, the large yellow and black lion wagging his long thick tail as he looked at the first cub. She was yellow, very yellow infact. He lowered his ears and reached for the little cub pulling her to his chest to lay in his tangle of dark hair. "Welcome to the world." he whispers grooming the cub some more and making sure her fur was completely free of dampness before he placed ehr at her mothers side.
"Sh..sh..she's a little me?" It was almost a question his dark orange eyes set upon the female whom was bringing his children in to the world. He licked at her face once again clearing away any persperation from her face. "You have a daughter." He grins looking at the tiny fiery yellow cub.

Koi gazed at the female and was amazed. She was a perfect little replica of them both. But she was defiantly Liza's young. She wished she could look at liza with their child to his chest for the rest of her life-but she felt another pain coming on. She ignored it, reaching down and adjusting the cub at her side, anxious to see what the other cubs looked like.
L-liza.. she is a little you isn't she? She's so bright and lovely... I can't b-b-believe it She said, gazing at their child.. their first child.
But there were more. She clenched her teeth and soon... another cub was born. A dark one.
Koi panted slowly, before gazing at the second born-a female. She was a startling shade of black.. a low rank... but Koi did not care at all. She let out the breath she was holding... Ooh... Liza... look how dark she is... s-s-she must of gotten t-that from you...

Liza gave a short nod as the second cub was born. She was dark, black as the ace of spades, not that he really noticed, he was more interested in making sure they were all dry and safe before he worried abourt ranks or anything else for that matter.
Reaching for their second daughter the huge lions black tipped paws held tightly to the little bundle as he groomed her clean. He was very festidious about this task making sure that she was dry as a bone before placing her beside her mother.
"Yes, she's very beautiful." he murured making sure to carefully nudge her beside her sister. The two cubs were like night and day, sun and moon, they were his and for the first time in his life, he felt proud of himself.
he looked up to Koi lowering his ears. "Thankyou Koi." He muurrs nudging her gently, encourganing her to continue.

Koi gazed at the two daughters and smiled. Oh... two girls... two little girls to carry on her bloodline. She felt so much joy that she could not even feel the pain ebbing at her. She gazed at the black and the yellow, her purple eyes shining. Two lovely little girls... no doubt the black girl got it from her father. She smiled, wrapping a paw around the two cubs... She was ready to see what other surprises lay in store.
She didn't have to wait long.
A boy... a tiny boy... orange and black. She let out a sigh, cleaning him before letting liza see the cub. A son... liza had a son. A boy... Liza... you have a son... and two d-daughters so far... Y-your mother would be proud

Liza felt a passion welling in his chest atthe birth of his first son. Smiling in an almost silly fashionhe reached for the little male to groom him as he had groomed the youngsters sisters before him. "I Promise to teach you well. He smiles licking the dark flock of hair from the cub before placing him back beside his mother. He looked up to Koi and wrinkled his nose happily. "More to come?" He looked sort of surprised, he had been a single cub in his mothers litter, three he felt was quite alot but the look on Kois face told him that there were further babies to come forth yet.
He was going to have his paws fulla nd he was glad of it.

Koi relaxed for a moment... three... and a lovely boy. A boy for Liza to raise to be a proper male int he pride. She smiled, bringing her head down to nuzzle the three cubs that were born so far. How wonderful... a family of their own. I think t-theres more...
She said, shutting her eyes and working through the pain this time... not showing much other than a strained forehead. She bore down and before long another son was born.
A pale boy... a strange pale in fact... Koi stared down at him in wonder-where did his markings come from? In fact... neither koi nor liza had much white... but none the less... Koi bent and began to clean the child. Two boys.. two girls.
The little girl-dark as the sky-left the only world she knew and so far... it was horrible. There were other things out here with her and so far all they did was annoy her. She gave one of them shove away from the bright colored warm thing that was big-and began to nurse. Her little back leg kept jabbing out and pushing her siblings away from her spot on mom.

Liza tilted his head his dark eyes looking at the pale male. Only the tips of his mane was of this strange pale grey but the cub reminded him of his father. The markings were the wrong colour, his father had worn the black markings which he himself sported, but this cub was akin to him in every other way.
It was then that the custard colourd lion reached carefully for his fourth child and groomed each marking carfull making the soft yellow shine. "Y..y..you bbear a grgrgreat resemblance to my f..f..father." he stuttered, nervous as the moment washed over him. The fact that he should bring a cub so like his deceased mistweaver father in to the world confused him but the confusion quickly passed and he placed the cub beside his other siblings.
"You're doing great Koi." The big yellow lion smiled and lapped at her ears. He gussed there was a little way to go yet but truely she was doing wonderfully well. He felt proud to be a part of this moment, this bringing of new life in to the world.

Koi observed her children so far. A beautiful bunch. She sighed, feeling a tad tired after all this work... but there were more to come-she could feel her body preparing for it. She didn't say anything about Liza's comment about his father... she thought it unwise to bring that up... such a painful thing. She smiled up at Liza though, shutting her eyes to enjoy his tongues caresses. She smiled. You are t-to Liza.. you will be the best f-father.... I know it.
The are so beautiful She said, shutting her eyes as another pain shot through her. She was getting used to it now though, and she curled around the cubs she would grow to love and care for... as another child was borned into the world.
A boy... black as his previous sister... she smiled down at him-cleaning the black pelt slowly... two black children...
