-- AIM Rp between Mwezi'Mtoto and Malkia ((DFA & Felyn)) He was.... lost. Again. The fact this came as no surprise was slightly irritating to him, but no outward sign was issued to show this aside the slight twitch of an eyebrow as the male lion came upon a certain tree.
It was the same tree he'd passed by only three days ago. Had he been going in circles? It didn't really help that he had nowhere to go to... and no destination, and so thus allowed his feet to take him where they would. Because it pleased him to do so. The fact he was going in circles was slightly offputting though; so much so that Mwezi made a show of sitting in front of the damnable tree, mildly glaring at it haughtily, as if it were to blame for his predicament.Well, one can imagine the sort of scene Mwezi painted for passersby. The scale-marked fem was truly minding her own business, head high and face neutral as she made her way through the lands. She was a traveler, and in her opinion life was quite decent regardless. She loved to see new lands, meet new creatures, and generally expand the horizons. There was no where she wouldn't go or nothing she wouldn't do. She'd seen so many things, all of them stored in her memory - but she'd never quite seen someone look like they were trying to stare down a tree.
"You know, it's.. not going to stare back," she said, slowly, with only a touch of amusement in her voice. It truly wasn't quite mocking, but instead a way of joking, perhaps breaking the ice? She pulled herself slowly in that direction, pausing a little behind him, eyes resting lightly on him with her chin just a touch higher than any true rogue would have bothered. As far as Mwezi was concerned, perhaps... just perhaps, if he stared at it hard enough, the tree would cringe, cower and run off into the distance, pleading for forgiveness. Any second now. And if that didn't work, well, he'd use the damnable thing to sharpen his claws.
Both notions worked.
At first, Mwezi did not realise the female was talking to him, and thus, he let a feull minute go by before languidly turning his head to look at her, "Perhaps not," he told her, his voice death panned, almost as if he thought she was being utterly foolish for saying something so obvious, and that OF COURSE he knew, regardless of whatever it was he was currently doing.
A pause followed and the male frowned, turning back to the tree, his ears flopping back to hide inside his mane, "But it will wish it could, by the time I am finished with it," he sneered at the horrible plant, then paused again. Why had he been angry with the thing in the first place...? Flicking his ear, he turned his attention towards the female, taking in her stance; regal, royal perhaps? Proud no doubt, "Where does this Mwezi find himself?" he asked her lightly, all traces of whatever had been annoying him, gone. She had been on the verge of reminding him that trees had no true conscience, not like other creatures, but she quickly deducted that he was probably one of those rather strange creatures that probably wouldn't have listen to her if she told him the sky was falling. At least, not until he had decided that he had realized it first, probably.
"Well," she said, a slight quirk in her brow at the way he referrred to himself, "Mwezi is in the rogue lands." She shrugged, eyes flickering around slowly, concentrating on the horizons. "No prides near here that I know of, but then, I am truly only passing through myself."Amusingly enough, she was probably right; the poor girl could have told him the sky was falling, and less it suited and pleased him to believe it, it was clear Mwezi would have not even moved a paw. Instead he sniffed snobbily, looking bored, as if he couldn't particularly care less, for some reason or another, "Rogue lands," he spoke softly, his voice almost musical, "I knew that. What I ignore is the exact part of the lands I am roaming," and why he was aparently.... roaming in circles. But he decided to exclude that random bit of information.
Instead he shifted, tossing his head slightly so that the pelt that clung to his form was better adjusted, "That is not pleasing," he murmured, then raised his head. After a moment he lowered his gaze, "Whom are you?"

She sighed softly at his rather snobby display, tossing her head slightly to remove the mane-tuft from her eyes. "If you already knew the answer, then why bother to ask the question?" she asked, still not too haughty, but quite cool regardless. She lifted her head some, staring at him down her mug somewhat, "or perhaps you didn't ask what you meant to?"
She turned slightly, walking around the tree that he was so adamant about staring down, her eyes tracing it before landing slowly back upon him. "Malkia," she said finally, her tone returning back to the rather lilting, eloquent one she used normally, "and you?"
"I meant to ask, what I asked, regardless the answer was not quite as sattisfactory as one would have hoped," he flicked his tail then, slightly, and mentaly congratulated himself even as he kept his face absolutely straight, "You answered generaly. I was hoping for a slightly more specific location, but seeing as you haven't told me, I will just asume you know no specific locations around here."
Which was, all in all, logical. It seemed his mind workd in logical ways; in fact, it was probable the lion had very little use for 'imagination' when it came down to it. Straight forwardness had taken him far in life... till he'd found himself kingdomless anyhow. A sigh rolled off his maw, almost weary sounding.
He abandoned his watch of the tree, opting instead to regard her as she circled it in turn, a brow arching mildly. He could not help the jab, "It hides no secret," he drawled, "Tis a normal tree," a pause before e tilted his head, gazing landuidly at her, innocently, amusingly enough, almost child like, "Mwezi'mtoto."
She sniffed, stopped to look at him. He was quite the cocky little thing and it had been quite some time since she'd met someone like him. It didn't bother her so much as irritate slightly."You asked a general question, so I gave you a general answer. Again, ask the proper question for the answer you expect and you might not find the result to disappointing."
She stopped, raising one eyebrow at him, face growing into a cool mask. "You are very quick to assume based on the least possible expose to someone's knowledge. That you didn't know where you were could make me assume you were too inexperienced and should still have a parent there to guide your paws."
She sat slowly next to the tree, her tail flopping against the earth and her stature vaguely rigid. "If it's a normal tree, why were you staring at it as if it would uproot and dance away?" She sniffed again, giving him a small nod of the head, "it's a pleasure to meet you."
"Perhaps it would do you fine to admit you know not the answer and carry on with life as if should be," he sniffed right no back, only seemingly sounding vaguely annoyed. Almost as if the current conversation were an extremely trying event... which have been the case, seeing as how he was rather used to having most creatures instantly bow their heads and retire away when he was through and done.
Then again, he was also rather pleased those days were gone; he'd never quite liked servants. They were annyoing. And they squealed. And tended to apologise too much for their own good.
The fact he was pondering such things, rather than the current moment was imposible to determine, for he'd kept his gaze upon her, blinking only slightly, "The question I asked would ensure a rightful answer; following your logic you could have replied 'africa' and asume I would be content," listening to her rattle on, Mwezi entertained himself with the notion of perhaps, just perhaps, leaning forward and blowing a cool breath over her nose, just in order to see that cool, arrogant mask of hers slip away. Would it be worth the pain to do so? Would she try to physicaly harm him? He so despised fighting women...
Distantly, he noticed she was still talking, and one of his ears twitched within his mane, "The diference is, I had already admited to not knowing where I was, and you are not; instead resorting to squirting around the topic instead of giving a sufficient answer," after a pause, he raised his languid gaze towards the clouds, "You should practice what you preach; I have no need to reach any specific destination and so no need for guidance, but it'd be helpful to know where it is I find myself, hence the aforementioned question which you, by the way, have failed to answer," he refrained from rolled his eyes, slightly, haughtily before he leaned in to sniff at the air just in front of her, "My, my, what is that? Do I sniff the scents of hypocrisy?"
The male turned towards the tree again and wrinkled his nose, "Because it is determined to cross my path in the last few days, thus confirming the notion I must be walking in circles. Which is not acceptable."
"To admit that I am wrong would mean that I would have to believe such. I do not, and I will not, but best we should drop the issue before you decide you're fairly certain about my own opinions almost as much as you are of your own," she managed to keep her tone mostly even, bu it was certainly a little pinched at some words. He was starting to grate her nerves, though she was more capable of hiding it than one would assume. She'd spent a long time being taught to do what was best for relationships, issues, and other things of important and not just what she felt like doing. A flicker of an eyelid, almost impossible to notice, and she began to push it away.
"Perhaps you do, or maybe you're getting a wiff of foolishness, since you seem incapable of noticing the entire point I was trying to make." Her voice was almost amused in a cold manner. He called her a hypocrite, but only because he seemed to miss the fact entirely about how she was only making a point. The key word have been 'could', not 'did', but he was to caught up in his own mission to make her look like a fool that he didn't even catch it. It irritated her that he just misinterpreted everything she was saying, but she simply shook her head slightly, dismissing it as his own delusions of grandeur. She'd have liked to meet his family, just to know who had bred such a cocky creature. "This is Tanzania, if you require specifics. Savannah rogue lands, and there are no prides in this area that I am aware for more than a day's walk or more." Did it truly matter where they were? Names were names, it was the landscape one must be familiar with and it was obvious he was not. How would knowing the name tell him how to avoid coming right back to the same tree?
She almost commented on how a tree could possibly cross his path, how it managed to maneuver itself to get in his way each time. She just thought he was utterly awful at directions, but her mask had relaxed just a fraction. "If you'd like me to show you a way that would keep this poor tree out of your path, I'd certainly be glad to do so."

"As you wish," it was drawled out with such superiority that it could not be missed; despite the words, the underlying meaning was obvious. I am right, and you are wrong, no matter what you say, because that is the way the universe works, even if you are merely in denial.
Still, he dropped it as he had offered, and looked calm, languid as ever, almost bored, really, as if the situation at hand really was not worth his actual attention.... even if this was not particularly true, it was what it seemed on the outside. Inside however, Mwezi found himself marvelling at how stubburn the female was probing to be, and idly wondered how anyone could have bred such a headstrong woman. Manners kept him from pointing this out however, as he sat there, his tail flicking aimlessly from side to side.
A pause as he turned his head towards her, looking mildly puzzled before he arched an elegant brow, "Again; is that the scent of hipocrisy?" he need not push the issue forward; he was enjoying her reaction readily enough, "Could, would, did, did not, would not," it was not sing songed, but there was a slight taunting to his voice regardless as he took a deep breath. Unlike her, the situation was not gritting his nerves; he was handling it with strange detatchment, whilst still inside, he kept toying with the idea of poking her nose. Would that make the situation further more amusing?
Decisions.... decisions...
An ear twitched, "Ah, we are now getting somewhere," he sniffed mildly, then shook his mane, as if ridding his head of some sort of idea that had been prowling it, "Not that it matters where I go," he had no home to return to, and tell truth, no need to create one. A king without a kingdom, "Hmmmm...." he seemed to process her last words for a full two minutes before nodding, "That would please this Mwezi greatly."
She sniffed lightly as he continued to push the matter of 'hipocrisy'. She had little idea as to what he kept going on about, for all she was concerned, she had only been making a point. If he was too stubborn to step down off of his high horse and realize that, so be it. Of course, that also presented the issue that he could have been incapable of seeing his own wrongs. Perhaps he could't see the piont she was trying to make because he didn't realize that was truly what she was trying to do. "It is the scent of whatever you wish it to be, Mwezi, and your own interpretation," she said, clipped and short. She wouldn't continue discussing it any longer. He could think what he wanted, and she would uphold her own opinions.
She quirked an eyebrow with a small smirk as he once again referred toh imself in the third person. She found it disturbingly strange, but if that was his fancy, then she'd not tell him. After all, she'd found trying to tell him anything often led to nothing getting done. He believed what he wanted. "Well, I'm glad to be of service," she said, though the tone was obvious. It was slightly mocking, but she got up as if it weren't, turning herself in the directio she would ultimately be taking him. "Well, I suppose as long as I take you somewhere other than the circles you've been treading, it will be good enough. At least a change of scenery, yes?" She glanced over her shoulder at him, waiting.
"Indeed?" he stared down at her, arching a brow minimaly as if to try and irritate her further, to push her buttons, or perhaps it was an innocent drawl; all in all, it was hard to tell, for soon enough, the male looked away from her, internaly pleased he had gotten what he deemed as the last word, no matter how stubburn she seemed to be and how hard she seemed to be taking it.
In fact, it was posible that if rebuked, Mwezi would find a way to twist the words and the situation to his favour. After, as far as he was concerned, it was but the way the universe had to work, "Indeed," it was the same word, repeated again though this time without the hint of a question or underlying meanings behing it as he sniffed slightly and nodded, glad to see she had finaly 'come to her senses'. Oh, he had seen the slight tanting behind her words, the sarcasm, but it pleased him to ignore it, for now. As soon as showed him the way and she had been 'of service', they would part and he'd be able to go back to his peaceful, free and ... female-free exhistence.
"That would be pleasing," he drawled as he too stood, shaking out his mane, the fluff that drapped over his shoulder ad body dragging slightly as he turned to follow her. Idly he wondered if anyone had ever told her that she talked too much. And that she had the annoying tendency to be mocking. Alas... he was willing to put up with it if it meant breaking the vicious circle he'd been walking in, "One can only hope the company will be as pleasing though," he drawled, a last jab he could not refrain before padding on.
She shook her head slowly as his words washed over her, though she'd put up enough of a wall that they mostly just washed right over her. She wondered, idley, if anyone had ever told him that he was too pompous - or that he liked listening to himself talk too much. "The company can only be as pleasing as you allow," she said slowly, softly, though her mind was wandering over all the reasons he was truly out here alone. Was he so cocky that it drove off everyone else? It seemed highly likely, and the thought almost made her smile.
She waited only long enough for him to catch up, her eyes catching sight of the fluffy object that he drug along the ground somewhat. She wondered if she could upset him if she stepped on it - made him trip over it. With a wicked smile curling her maw, she lifted her head up and set her eyes upon the horizon. For some reason, she found herself expecting quite the quiet little journey ahead.
