Glacier paused - his body quivering with excitement. His gaze was fixated on a rare plant. Not many of these plants existed that the fafner knew of in Hreidmar territory and here was one - just on the outskirts. Carefully picking his way across a rocky pathway the male's eyes gleamed with excitement. Such plants were sought after for the taste and perhaps in time he'd be able to manage to grow some of these tasty morsels back home.
With the delicate finesse of a connoisseur Glacier knelt next to the plant and gently plucked one leaf from the plants stem and munched on it in content. The flavor was one that could not be described. His eyes closed in bliss at this rare treat and the sun's rays warmed his back lulling him into a peaceful slumber.

 Hallie had left her home early that morning, making her way through the Brynhild clan lands. It was a lovely and warm day, the female planned to enjoy it. She had little trouble traveling quickly over the rocky terrain, heading towards an area she had long since clamed as her harvesting territory. It wasn’t really ‘her’ territory but it was where she went daily to collect food stuffs. Coming up on the edge of the Hreidmar lands she stopped something that had not been here the day before.
Another Fafner seemed to be sleeping near one of her plants. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she crept closer to the male, not recognizing him for her clan. The plant he lay here was a rare one in this area, and she didn’t like that someone from another clan had ventured to close. Moving in one him she stood over the plant and stared down. “ What are you doing here?! ” She tried to make her naturally soft voice sound louder and more ominous, but it didn’t work so well.

“What are you doing here?!”
Since Glacier had been dozing lightly the sound of another's voice penetrated his brain so quickly that his reaction time was slightly dulled. All he knew is that there was a shadow looming over him and he scrambled back a few paw steps before returning his gaze to the owner of the voice. Why ... it's only another Fafner. What made me think otherwise?
Seeing how close the femme was to the plant that he'd discovered made Glacier cringe inside. He wanted to take it back with him for his clan to experience and here she was just standing over it like some sort of purple and white goddess.
Sighing lightly Glacier's found his voice and spoke.
"I do not know who you are but I found this plant first. It should belong to my clan and I."
He had no idea of the origins of the plant or who tended to it.

She raised her brow at him slightly and just stared a moment, finding his comment a slight shock really. She moved herself around the plant to stand between him and it before taking a seat. “ Actually, I’ve been tending this plant for quite some time now, I’m not just about to give it up because you found it. ” Her tail wrapped protectively around the base of the plant as she stared down at the male with her bi colored eyes.
Hallie actually felt bad about treating the male this way, but she tried to hide it. She wasn’t going to allow him to take her plant, that she was didn’t like how he assumed he was the first to know about it.

Glacier's expression didn't deviate much but the surprise leaked through when he registered what the femme had told him. Taking in her purple and white coat and the different colors that her eyes was enough to inform him that she was not of his clan. Eying the plant that he'd tasted earlier he struggled to compose a suitable response. The ambrosia of the plant's flavor had taken over and instead he merely watched the femme's tail curl protectively around it.
"How did you come to find this location? I don't think you are from Hreidmar clan ... are you?"
Glacier's pose shifted and he lay down in a relaxed position. While the femme did seem a little perturbed he wouldn't call her actions hostile yet.

She watched him as he lay down, relaxing a little as he did. He didn’t seem a threat to her at the moment, not that she noticed at least. She remained seated where she was, her tail still around the plant but she allowed her voice to return to it’s normal level. A soft whisper as she spoke to answer his question. “ I am of the Brynhild clan, I found this location while with my mother harvesting. Many years ago now, while I was still but a child and my mother still among the living. ” She glanced behind her to the plant a moment before looking back again. “ She cared for and harvested from this plant for many years before showing me. It is even rarer in my clans lands then it is here. ”

Well that was actually two birds with one stone. Now Glacier knew her clan and rank. He paused as he observed the plant once again before sighing. He wouldn't be able to give his clan the treat that he thought he would have. At least not today. Respectfully Glacier lowered his head in a sign of respect for a departed loved one before raising his gaze to take in the femme again.
"You've been caring for this plant ever since? How have you managed to keep it safe all these years?"
Glacier's icy colored pelt seemed to darken as the clouds hid the rays of sun that had been flitting through earlier as he waited for an answer. There was the slight hope that she would not notice that one single leaf had been plucked from her plant. It was an odd feeling to say that he felt guilty about taking one solitary leaf.
"By the way ... I feel you should know who you are addressing. I am Glacier - also a harvester ... for Hreidmar."

Nodding respectfully as he stated his name and rank as well as clan for her. She even gave a small slightly friendly smile. She hated being rude to anyone and she didn’t want to seem like a bad individual. “ Yes, I’ve cared for it ever since. Even tried taking some of the seeds and planting them on my clans lands but they rarely last a season and have a different flavor to them. Our lands are not ideal for most any plant like this one. ” She thought a moment as she looked at him, knowing how she’d feel if it what her in his place. “ There… is another though. One that I grow from the seeds of this one. ”

Glacier tucked his paws underneath him and eyed the little plant once again. He listened as the femme told of her attempts to grow the plant in her clan's territory without much success. He frowned briefly at the implication that she had managed to grow a different sort of plant from the seeds of this one. Sighing softly Glacier rose once again and padded forward.
He stopped just shy of the other fafner and the plant she protected before looking the plant over. For such a tiny little organism it sure drew up a lot of problems. Quirking a smile he once again sat down on his haunches before glancing around.
"I guess I should renounce my claim on this plant then. By the way ... I didn't catch your name in all this confusion."

Her eyes widened just a little and she blinked at him. She was sure she had told him, she had meant to at least. “ Oh sorry, my name is Hallie. Giving my name completely skipped my mind. ” She laughed at herself lightly and smiled at him. She didn’t move when he came closer, her way of showing that she didn’t mind. She’d even moved her tail from around the plant, pulling it around her paws as she sat. She took a closer look at him now that he was closer as well. The ‘ice’ colored fur and wing like markings catching her interest. His silver eyes seemed so different to her, there was no one in her clan that looked quiet like this male.

"Well Hallie. It is nice to meet you. Once again I am sorry."
Watching as Hallie curled her tail around her and left the plant unattended was sort of a surprise. However he now had no wish to take the plant once hearing of the origins of it's continued survival. Sighing softly he swept his tail along the ground before twitching his nose. The taste from earlier was dissipating from his mouth and he longed for another sample but now that was impossible.
Moving around to sit directly beside Hallie the icy-colored fafner stared into the distance letting the silence overtake both of him. His gaze drifted to the markings on the femme beside him with amusement. His eyes followed the various swirls marked on her white fur before yawning softly.

She soft smile spread slightly and she shook her head. “ Don’t worry about it, it’s not a overly big deal. ” Her gaze had shifted from him and now lay of the lands around them. She didn’t want to seem like she was staring. She could however see him looking at her out of the corner of her eye. “ Sounds like you might be tired. ” She did look at him now, her bi colored eyes focusing on his silver ones. She felt bad that he couldn’t take home such a treat as the plant she protected. She knew how happy her clan tended to be when she would bring some home. “ I want to show you something. Come with me. ” Standing she turned and began to walk away, no waiting to see if he would follow her.

As another yawn escaped him Glacier watched as Hallie rose to her feet and began to walk away. She had something to show him? Interest piqued at the prospect of seeing something new perhaps was enough motivation. Getting slowly to his feet and stretching the male kept his eye on Hallie before looking once more at the plant he'd been so interested in before.
Gently nosing it on his way past Glacier inhaled the scent to remember it later and began trekking down the path that the femme had taken. This was highly unusual behavior but he didn't really care at the moment.
(( Short again. I think it's the fact that my muse was stolen for a wonderful dream I had earlier ))

Trotting back towards the river the separated her clans lands from his. She did at one point look back to see if he was there, a smile spreading over her face as she spotted him. From the point that the reached the river she began to follow it, walking right up along the short so her paws were in the water. She loved the feel of the cool water against her skin. Stopping at a stone by the river she used it as a perch to lean over the water and take a drink before continuing on though going slow enough to allow him time to drink if needed.
It was another ten minutes before she arrived at there destination. Slowing to a stop she came up on a small group of plants, the same as the other. They where smaller, showing how much younger they where. “ I planted these, only about two years ago now. ”

Glacier had been following Hallie along the shoreline and paused briefly to take a drink at the river's edge. The water was cool and quenched his thirst for the time being. As Hallie moved onwards he wondered briefly what he was doing before showing his indifference in a shrug. Taking one last drink at the river he moved to follow the purple and white femme.
When she stopped he peered over her shoulder in surprise.
Well well well. This was a rare treat. A grin broke out on his face as he studied the little plants with a keen eye.
"How did you manage this?"
There was a sense of wonderment in his voice as he continued to eye the plants.
