Plot It's been two years since Edward Elric returned his younger brother, Alphonse, to his original body, but at a cost. Young Edward was sent to the real world. Two years later, at the brink of World War II, a conqueror from Earth will rise to the challenge to try and take over Shamballa. When she succeeds, her first order is the destruction of every Alchemist and everything to do with Alchemy. Caught in the crossfire is the young Elric brother, Alphonse. Forced into hiding, the Alchemists of the military can do very little but watch their men and women get slaughtered. Edward, desperate to find and protect his brother, crosses back into Shamballa with the help of his best friend from Earth, Alfons. With the world in disrepair and the Alchemists forced to hide, his quest for his brother and the freedom of Shamballa will prove much harder than he could ever imagine.

Rules: 1. This is an FMA RP. They cuss in the manga, but if I see a word that I've never seen in the manga and/or anime (English Dub. Don't tell me they say **** in the Jap version) I won't tolerate it! 2. Made-ups welcome! 3. Killing is fine, just make sure you work it out with the person you're killing outside of the RP 4. Please post characters in the Character Forum 5. If you have a character that isn't a made up that you plan on being only every once in a while, you don't have to post their profile! 6. NO PERFECT CHARACTERS! You're character can be hit and can be dodged. Powerplaying is not welcomed here!

Prologue: "Is it true?" A voice asked. A man with an eye patch stared out toward the snowy landscape. A female in a military uniform stood behind him, pacing. She nodded. "Our forces were defeated..." She reported. The man sighed. "How?" He asked. The female shook her head. "I don't know, sir. It just did..." "And the Gate between our worlds?" The man asked. "Opened, for now, sir," she answered. "How long?" "We're not sure," the lady answered. The man sighed quietly. "And the Alchemists?" "It's slaughter, sir. There are so few left in the city already." "Where will you go?" He asked. The girl sighed. She was getting annoyed with him just asking questions instead of offering suggestions. She hadn't tracked him down to listen to questions. "The Alchemists are going into hiding, sir," she said, her voice tight with annoyance. "Is that truly all you will do?" He asked. "With all due respect, sir, I didn't come all this way to listen to you inquire about our situation. I came for help!" She snapped. The man didn't flinch. When he didn't talk again, she nodded. "Yes, sir... That is all we plan on doing." "So it's over?" The female growled slightly and walked toward the door. She opened it. "Yes, sir! It is! For now... It is." She snapped angrily. She slammed the door, shaking the house and walked out into the snow-filled fields.

Far away from the house where the two military personnels were discussing, in a hotel room, sat a young man with blonde hair. He looked shell-shocked and confused. He hadn't really believed the world he was in now existed. The silence in the room was broken by a loud cough. The man looked in his hand to see it stained with fresh blood. He sighed and stood up and walked to the bathroom to wash his hands.
Not far from the hotel, in Shamballa's old military station, another blonde haired boy stood in a barrack, looking at a red cloak hanging in a closet. He wore a hunter green vest over a formal shirt and brown pants, the Earthen Alliance uniform. The door swung open and his room mate walked in. The boy quickly pushed the cloak into the back of the closet and slammed the door. "Woah, jumpy, aren't we?" The other man asked. He was a bit older than the first boy. "Don't feel guilty about this, kid," he said. "I'm sure you won't be the last one of this place to denounce your home and join up with us. What's your motive for doing this?" "My brother," the boy answered.

Another boy in the hotel with a blonde ponytail looked up from the paper on the desk in front of him. He wore a white collared shirt, a green vest, and black pants and shoes. Over the shirt he had a long, brown coat that he wore open. He blinked his golden eyes, set down the pen in his white-gloved hand, and stood up. He walked over to the bathroom and peeked in. "You okay, Alfons?" he asked.

Alfons jumped. He looked down to make sure no blood was left in the sink or on his hand and then looked at the other boy. "A bit shell-shocked, Ed... But I'll live," he added with a smile. He coughed again, but nothing came out this time. "I guess I should have paid more attention to those stories..." He looked toward the desk. "What are you reading?"
The room mate smiled. "Your brother, huh?" He asked. "Why him? What has he ever done for you?" The first boy shrugged. "I'm not sure..." He muttered. "But I know he did something for me." "Whatever. What's your name, kid?" "Alphonse... But you can call me Al." "Well, Al, we're leaving." Al nodded. He tucked his hair into his dark green military helmet and followed his room mate out.

"Good." Ed returned the smile. "Oh, I was just flipping through my old alchemy book. Doodling in the margins, reading stuff I have memorized. Nothing special."

"I see," Alfons said. "So... This is your home, huh? It's nice... Except for the whole war thing, I guess." He felt completely stupid by that point. He sighed and looked around as a knock came to the door. He thankfully opened the door. A boy in a blue cloak bolted in and slammed the door behind him, locking the dead bolt. Alfons cocked his head. "What are you doing?" He asked. The boy, who still had his ear to the door sighed. "Hiding..."
Two Earthen Allience kids ran down the hallway. "Alright, I'll check upstairs, you check this floor. Meet me in ten minutes, okay Al?" The shorter and younger of the two nodded and watched the older run up the stairs. He put down his visor and silently walked down the hallway, listening for the alchemist.

"Yeah, it's--" Ed stopped short as the boy darted in. "What...? Who are you hiding from?"

The other boy sighed. "The..." "This is the Police! Open the door or I will be forced to use lethal force!" "You'll be forced to use lethal force whether or not I open this door!" The boy retorted. Al sighed. "Get out of there, Alchemist!" Two shots were fired and the hinges flew off. Al pushed the door down. "Yikes!" The yelped and ran into the bathroom. Al looked at the two left in the room. Alfons began coughing. He made his way to the bathroom. "Don't move!" Al growled. "I... need water!" Alfons said between coughs."

"You leave him alone!" Ed snarled back in Alfons' defense. "Or you'll have to deal with me!" "Is there a problem here?" a voice asked behind Al. Ed glanced over behind Al to see a blonde-haired, blue-eyed boy standing behind him. He wore a black shirt, black pants, black boots, and a long black trench coat. In his hand he held a scythe with a long, curved, dark blue handle. At the top was a green and black gargoyle whose wings made another, smaller blade, and a larger red and silver blade with a black angel wing on the red part.

Al looked at the new comer. "I think I found that blue cloaked Alchemist," Al explained. "But these guys are hiding him!" "We're not hiding anyone!" Alfons said. He took another step toward the bathroom. Al turned his gun and aimed it at Alfons. "I said don't move!" He snapped. The weapon was shaking in his hands. It was obvious he was very uncomfortable with the gun.

Ed took a step toward Al. "I'm only gonna tell you one more time: Leave him alone," he snapped. "Where's the kid?" the black-clad soldier asked. "Just hand him over and no one has to get hurt. I'd rather do it that way, and I'm sure you would, too."

Al lowered the gun. For some reason, he had taken orders from Ed. He binked several times. "Please, just tell us where the Alchemist is. I don't want to hurt you." "Yeah right, Alphonse!" The Alchemist called from the bathroom. Alfons jumped, thinking the boy was talking about him. "Forsake us and destroy the military! You are a card, aren't you." "You can shut up!" Al snapped sadly. He took a step toward the bathroom. Too late, the Alchemist realized that he had given Al his position.
