A fairly satisfied lioness stepped onto the harsher grasses, paws making haste in their aimless journey. She had exposed herself to rogue lands once again, leaving the soils of her new pride in the far off distance. She wasn't on a mission, however, though one could say something only reachable once outside the boundaries of the pride beckoned her; something from the rogue lands intrigued her to wander out so, and whether it was her former home calling to her, or something unsettled in her gut that made her decide to take the trip is subjective.
But she had to step outside the seclusion of her new home sometime, didn't she? Her family were well at the moment, possibly lazing about within the pride lands, and her usual companion Senna had grown more scarce as of late. Though she wondered from time to time of her close sister's whereabouts, she knew she would be told by her directly if and when it was the right time. She had other things to reflect upon, having just moved into a new situation, a new belief, and a new life with her family. It was a new change that came more abruptly than the similar situation her family landed in what seemed like a long time ago--it came more abruptly this time because as a youth, she vaguely realized coming into her past pride, having been fit with faint knowledge of the certain aspects and uniqueness of what prides were. She had been grown into her adulthood for quite some time now, however, and had a different mindset. And the change of lifestyle she was still trying to accustom herself to, but she was willing to give up many things for what was left of her family.
A smile graced her as she thought about the newfound peace in her new homeland. The white, black, and tan brown patterned lioness was oblivious to any life around her, fully immersing herself in her current thoughts, still traveling automatically opposite of where her home was. If someone had been observing her, she would seem like a complete rogue if not for the peculiar green flower tucked neatly behind her left ear that, to an outside perspective, may have looked like it was used as a tradition of some sort.

Mbaraka was a wandering gently giant, as his mother had fondly named him in his adolescence. He was large, gray and had brilliant emerald eyes which stood out from his murky pelt. Large circles led their way up his forelegs which pounded as he padded gently onwards. His tail swished contentedly and his mane was whipped by the small breeze.
He was at ease, but buried in thoughts. He was nearing an older age now, and really had not found much satisfaction within life. He had no family apart from his foster mother, and the poor lioness was now dead. His real parents would also be long gone, and there would be no way of tracking them down, and he had no children nor did he have a mate. He had often fantasized about settling down in a pride and raising a family, but simply nothing had happened, so for now he was a wanderer. He just hoped his life would work out perfectly in the end, he was usually optimistic.
He noticed a shape, white, golden brown and black, merged with the colours of the grasses. Slowing down, the blurr appeared as a lioness, adult in age, and apparently headed in his direction. Mbaraka continued at a steady pace, calling out so he did not intimidate the lioness. "Good day, miss!" He was certainly one for manners. He approached the lioness, admired her flower for a moment and bowed deeply.

The gentle lioness's trance was abruptly broken by the distinct call of a voice in the air. She immediately stopped her pace and gazed into the horizon to spot a gray figure close by, and definitely heading towards her. Had she been that immersed that she was not able to detect the stranger? She was grateful that he did not seem to be an apparent threat, however.
As he approached, the lioness inspected his entire figure to see if he was from her new place--but, realizing that he carried no flower with him, she concluded that he must either be a rogue lion or from another pride nearby, giving himself in to the wanderlust temptation like her.
"Likewise," she repeated cheerfully, feeling a little surprised by being called a "miss". Having been surrounded by entirely family throughout her life, and never subjecting herself to strangers made instances in where she was not called upon by her name rare. And what surprised her more was the sudden bow; she was rendered speechless for the moment, having never been shown this much manner before, especially since it was the first time she had seen the lion.
"Ahh, no need for that... Thank you," she said with a hint of embarrassment. She in turn gave a small bow of her own with a momentary dip of her head, and when she was through, asked, "Is this your territory? I am sorry if I have intruded." Rarely had she met someone she didn't already know, so bumping into another was one of the last things in the world she would have expected.

"No, not at all." He shook his head. "I am sorry if I invading your territory." He looked a little ashamed at the prospect and his emerald eyes fell to inspect the ground for a second before turning back to the lioness. Introducing himself with a smile, he nodded his head gently again. "My name is Mbaraka." He knew how important it was for a male to introduce themselves first, the air of mystery to a female could sometimes be alluring, but sometimes make them feel threatened, as his mother had once told him. Mbaraka certainly wasn't a threat to anyone. The male continued to smile comfortingly.

The lioness took some time to go over the male's response. His words were so... polite, and so gentle, and it almost had her flustered. Conditioned to live and interact around those who displayed tempers quite opposite of the male before her made it a little stunning to say the least--compared to someone like her sister and best friend, Senna, it was refreshing. He even looked... overly apologetic. Noticing his downcast eyes, the lioness was at a loss of words--should she have offered another apology in retaliation as well?
At his offer of a name, she nodded immediately and smiled earnestly, replying, "Ah, I am Mikaili," and wondered whether she should have given her name first, especially to such a kind stranger. After all, he seemed a little lost, or out of place at least--considering these were the borders of her pride.
"This isn't my territory, but that of my pride, the Mtaishi'miele. Or, well, close to--I've just come out to... wander a bit, I suppose," she admitted, almost embarassed. Now she was the one who looked lost. "And, may I..." she started, shaming herself for imposing on the nice stranger, "May I ask what you are doing out here, alone, especially?" Not that she thought Mbaraka couldn't handle himself, nor was the area very dangerous. However, Mikaili had never seen a lone wanderer before, and to be just that would puzzle her dearly. She also hoped he wasn't alone and away from his family for the same reasons as a couple of her older sisters had when they left the comfort of their old home.
"It is the first time I've run into someone not a part of my... family," she attempted to explain herself for the nosy inquiry, lowering her eyes anxiously. As was the tradition of her pride, every member was family to each other, and she quickly grew to know each and every single one of them not related by blood, their trademark flowers drawing an immediate bond. But this stranger, Mbaraka, was different. He seemingly had no ties to... anything Mikaili knew, to be frank.
