...Especially the habits of a stubborn, hot-headed thief of a mare. She survived by snatching what she could from the two-leggers, counting on her own swift four legs to carry her away with her prizes. Today was no different, except she hadn't made her foray into the village...yet. Instead she watched from the forest on the south side, looking for just the right moment of opportunity. A turned back, an unguarded food basket...that was all she needed.

It was about this time of day when Macawi-Senna would set Seralin loose to roam. At the edge of the village was the young indian girl and the chocolate mare, which with a gentle pat, was off to leasurely explore.
Seraline hadn't trotted out far into the valley, when something colorful in the forest caught her eye. Ears high, and attentive, Sera chanced a few cautious steps closer, towards the would-be raider. "Hello?"

Kid whirled, beads strewn about her neck and through her tail clicking loudly. "What the he--oh, bloody hell," she blurted, starting on a startled note and ending in a groan. Just her luck! Unless she did some swift talking, she'd eat no two-legger treats tonight. "Almost scared the crap outta me...what the hell'd you go and do that for?"

Seralin was no less startled than this mare. Stumbling back a few steps, she appologised. "I'm sorry. I thought I saw something inf the woods,...and it turned out to be you." Sera tried a smile.
This one made her nervous. Not that she wasn't already fairly skittish around most adults... She really couldn't question the mare as to why she was here -- it was a free world, afterall, so she went with an introduction insted.
"My name is Seralin. You may call me Sera if you prefer. And you are?"

So she needed to be more careful when she was scoping out the place or she'd get caught for real...Kid scowled at the thought. Well, at least she wasn't caught, not yet. This made her grin with a warmth that lit her cerulean eyes. "Call me Kid. Not much of a name, but it's mine. Good to meetcha, Sera."

"Nice to meet you, too, Kid." Seralin gave a more welcoming smile. Looking voer her shoulder at the village, she asked, "What brings you to these parts?" Genuine, friendly, curiosity, and not quite a 'what are you doing here?' which insinuated she [i[shouldn't neccesarily be there.
"It's a fine day! A bit chilly in the shade, though,..." the chocolate mare idly noted. So she was being a bit nosey,.she was trying to spark u some conversation than anything. Sera liked making new friends, and despite her initial unease about Kid, she couldn't judge her on intuition alone.

Kid's grin faltered a little, but she concentrated hard on keeping it as perky as ever. This wasn't the first time she'd been in a tough spot! "Yeah, it's cold but the view's nice," she said breezily with a shrug. "Good views make good places to think, ya know?" Not that she was really the contemplative type...but it made as good an excuse as any. "How about you...one of the two-legger pets?"

"Hmn, I suppose,.." Sera said, musing about that possibility. "Pet?" She said, shaking her head, and catching up with the conversation. "I guess you could say that. Me and my two-legger are more like companions, than anything. I am alloud to run free, regularly, and fed well. Life is good for me in the village." Seralin said with affection for her tiny home at the base of the mountain.
"I suppose it would be rather restricting though, to someone raised in the wild." She said, contemplating again, what life might have been like had she not been raised in the village.

"No kidding, eh?" Kid snorted and shrugged. "Nah, I wasn't born in the wild...but I don't care for that kinda life much. A rope's a rope no matter what ya do to it to make it seem like somethin' else. If ya like it though, that's your fancy...at least ya get fed." The most Kid got from two-leggers lately was rocks, unless she found one that hadn't been victimized by her yet. Pebbles might not be much of a weapon, but they still stung enough to make her careful in her 'raiding.'

"I guess,..getting fed would play a roll in the enjoyment of village life,...." Sera gazed at her own village. Even in the tought years, se couldn't reca; a time when she hadn't been well fed. Even with thier food stock waning near the end of winter, everyone had happy bellies. And Sera knew -- sometimes grass just didn't cut it!
Now, Sera was a caring sort, almost to a fault. Injured, or hungry, she would probably help even the most grotesque and nasty of Soquili. so, looking back to Kid, she asked; "Would you like me to bring you something?"
Macawi-Senna kept a basket of fruit just inside the door of her Teepee, and Sera wasn't as likely to recieve a 'stoning' as Kid. Oh course, she hadn't known the other Mare's plans, but in a way, she could guess -- Kid was hungry, and wanted food. Sera was a nuturing, caring fool that was bound to get into trouble someday.

If Kid hadn't been a rascal from the moment she'd rolled out of her basket, she very well might have given herself away with eagerness at Seralin's words. But she'd been 'on her own' ever since an accident had taken her two-legger, and thieving was now not simply survival, it was fun of a sort. "That'd...be pretty nice, actually," she said, tilting her head at the other mare. "'Course, you don't have to if it'd be trouble."
Food was food, but using others tended to leave a bad taste in her mouth.

"I would trade my lunch to a hungry facce any day" Sera said with a gentle smile as she started off towards the village.
No one payed her much mind. Macawi-senna was tending to the village children, so her teepee was empty. Poking her head in, sera found the basket to her right, and tugged at it. Accidentally toppeling it over, fruit rolled all about the inside of the empty teepee. "Ooops,.." Thankfully, some remained inside, lining the bottom.
Dragging the much lighter basket, sera made it out of the village. She had been spoted by one of the women, but they either didn't care, or shrugged it off as a young horse at play. Picking up the basket, carrying it in her mouth, the chocolate mare trotted back to the forest.
"Misson complete!" She reported with a swish of her tail. "With,..only a few slip ups." Seralin chuckled at her own climsiness.

"Thanks!" Swooping in towards the food, Kid paused mid-dive, looking a bit comical in the process. "You...er, dun' happen to want any do ya?" Damn, but it'd been a long time since she'd had use for manners...not that she made much use of them even then. Who really needed them, anyways? Still, she could afford to be nice.
