When a human draws blood on a vampire, it is called First Blood. That vampire now has blood claim over that human, meaning that no other vampire can harm or kill that human unless the wounded vampire first gives their consent and/or permission The legend told to vampires when taught about First Blood and the Blood Claim is an old one...

Many years ago, before humans existed as we know them, there was a battle. Not a war, war is too great a word. It was a power struggle, between the humans of the time and the vampires. Humans had the disadvantages of weak human flesh and were incapable of healing quickly as the vampires did, and began using other, more treaterous methods of harming the vampires. Sneaking into homes, poisoning, sniping...other things not to be said here...

These vampires that were wounded gathered the scent of the human weapon that had injured them, and wanted their vengeance. The brought the weapon used to harm them and the wound to their captain. The captain agreed that no others were to harm the humans with these scents, not until the vampire agrees that the others may harm them.

At the end of this battle, when humans retreated into the light, where they could safely live, the other vampires still held the paranoia that humans were going to attack them as they slept, or ate, or watched their children. Many of them had good reason. Most humans had fled, but there were still some that believed that they could use these sneak attacks and bring an end to what they called the plague of vampires across the nation.

As time passed, these families of vampires passed down the tradition of First Blood to their children, and their children passed it down to their children, and so on. Now, vampires can blend in with humans to an extent, for their existence, while known by some, is still widely denied among them. Humans still think that they are on the top of the food chain, and are the toughest things out there. Of course, most of the time, alcohol can add to this feeling of godliness, and sometimes the vampires have been victim to these.

The rule of blood has, over the years, become stricter as the attacks became smaller, but more viscious attacks, people sure that they can kill them, or sure that they will destroy a "master vampire" and bring about the end of one they think has become plagued. Now, the rule of First Blood applies to any wound to a vampire, anything that draws blood on a vampire, from an accidental cut with a letter-opener to the first punch of a bar brawl.

In this day and age, the rule of First Blood is still running strong among the vampires, and no other dare touch one if a human has so much as accidentally papercut a vampire.

Gaia Name: CrimsonFangs
Name: Sara Lowell
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Apearance: Ms. Lowell
Personality: Shy, quiet, but she loves to go out and tease guys and have fun with her friends. She doesn't smile easily, not real ones, but when she does, people say that it's dazzling. She blushes easily, people complimenting her smile is a case-in-point to this. She's very friendly, but when she's scared or angry, she should not be messed with, and she's very protective of her friends.
Bio: Sara was born in a small town, but moved to the city when she was twelve, when her father died of cancer. She spent those first years of her life taking care of him, and watching her mother work more than she should have to take care of him and pay for his medical bills. He told her before he died that he was relieved that finally his wife and daughter would be able to be happy without having to take care of a sick old man all the time. Despite the sad time, those words actually helped Sara through it, for she knew that her father wanted them to be happy, not to cry and feel depressed about it. She brought up moving to her mother, maybe giving a different atmosphere a try and start a new life, which her mother accepted without a second thought.
Sara, after settling into her new life, went to the same school as Natasha, but didn't hang out with the same crowd. She has no knowledge of fighting, nor does she want any. She thinks that fighting is a terrible way for anyone to spend time, and she won't date a man who will fight. Not even one who will fight for her except in extreme circumstances.
She is a nursing student at the local college. She's in her sophomore year, and she's starting to get a little nervous about money since she needs to get a place of her own ince breaking up with her boyfriend, and she also needs to keep paying tuition for next semester. She's unfortunately, looking for someone at the moment who is not only nice to her (and maybe nice to look at), but someone maybe a little well-off or financially stable enough to want to help with her schooling.
She decides to leave The Vampyre's Lair early one night as her friends are trying to cheer her up. She hadn't wanted to go in the first place, but her friends had forced her, telling her this was the only way to get her ex off her mind.
Orientation: Bi-curious. Since being dumped by her boyfriend, she's been curious about what it's like to be with another woman, but she's afraid to try it out. She's much more physically attracted to males, so she thinks that she will never be able to make it in a relationsihp with another woman.
Other: Sara likes to sing, and she also likes to act. If she didn't want to be a nurse, she would be persuing an acting career. Some of her friends say that her voice can turn the wildest animal into a domesticated one.
She decides to leave the club without her friends and sees a man following her. When he gets closer to her than she liked, she freaks out and goes into her purse for her pepper-spray, and inadvertently scratching him in the arm with her fingernails.

Gaia Name: Forsaken_Blessing
Name: Darron
Age: 439
Gender: Male
Race: Vampire
Appearance: Vampire
Personality: Darron, despite his threatening demeanor, is actually a very friendly person. He doesn't like when people are mean to others, especially if they're his friends. Of course, he considers almost anyone a friend, unless they've personally tried to kill him, or if they do something to one of his close friends. When he gets angry, he gets murderous, and doesn't stop until something is dead, despite whether it was the person who caused harm or just a random person.
Bio: He was born just after the battles had stopped, but his family had been one of the ones directly involved with the creation of First Blood. He remembers well the rule, and remembers it when it was changed. When he was six years old, he realized that he didn't like to fight, only during certain times, and when he felt that he had to. He gets more violent around the full moon, but only when he's around other vampires.
Because he had these traits, many believed that he was a 'Lunar Vampire', one that was created once upon a time by the forbidden pairing of a vampire and a lycan. He was, because of this, outcast from his home and thrown out along with his family. He didn't care though, if the vampires were so close minded, he did not need their society. He had his parents. Of course, his parents did not know of this until the elders had told him, and so cast him out in fear that he would become some sort of mutant and kill them all.
He left, and over the years eventually found his way over to the states. He learned to play the piano when he got there, having never seen one back in his homeland. He found that he was a natural at the piano, and became, for several years, a concert pianast, until the money stopped coming in and he could no longer support himself. He started many a band in the 80's, but none of them took off, mainly because he hated everything that they loved and vice versa.
His most prized possession is his piano, which he was forced to place into storage, that is, until he found an ad in the paper one day for a man looking for a roomate to share the bills. He immediately called the number and spoke to the man, Eric, about getting the apartment. He accepted, and Darron quickly moved in, having nowhere else to be.
By this point, Darron had become interested in the night scene, due to the fact that those were the people that would not call the cops on him if he were to bite them, and by the time he tried anything, they were already too drunk to do anyting to stop him.
Orientation: He is straight. He's tried the whole bisexual thing, but he doesn't find it that appealing, and chooses not to engage in it.
Other: Darron loves to play the piano. He has one at his apartment, and it sadly takes up most of his room. He doesn't mind, he doesn't need many things, as long as he has that and a bed and some black curtains to block out the sun, he's fine.
He heard about the nightclub from a friend of his, and has been anxious to check it out since then.

So...I'm pretty sure we both know the rules...and stuff like that. So I'mma skip that step... And since we said we were starting over...I'll start!

Darron ambled into the nightclub, 'The Vampyre's Lair', wondering who would open such a club. He'd only just heard of it, but he'd heard from this friend (well, if he could be called a friend), that it had been running for a few months. He wondered how he hadn't heard of it before. It sort of stood out against the rest of town, illuminated by lights and a fog-machine, with gaudy lights and the place was practically made out of shining black leather. It drew in the Gothic persuasion rather well. Whoever, or whatever, had decided to open up business here would make a lot of money very fast before probably going bankrupt by the end of the year. Clubs didn't last long in this city.

The vampire shrugged, not worrying too much about it. He got his hand stamped, payed to get in, then headed outside to wait for his roommate with a small smile on his face, thinking that he wasn't going to show. He wondered if he should call the boy, but decided against it. He took a deep breath and swallowed. So much fresh blood all around him, it'd be impossible for him to leave without feeding. He was getting much too hungry just sitting here outside as all of the young ones came around with their fake IDs and leather corsets. It reminded him of just how long it'd been since he'd fed, and he felt his eyes beginning to change, felt the red start to bleed into them.

Darron took another deep breath, forcing the blood from his eyes, forcing his fangs from growing out just yet. He couldn't have people coming up to him to ask him questions, he was much too hungry, and he couldn't have people seeing him taking a victim where he was, standing right outside the nightclub. He almost wished he smoked, for it would give him something to do besides inhale the toxic scent of the rich blood that was all around him. So...maybe coming out tonight had been a bad idea, spoke the rational part of his brain. But, his instincts told him that tonight would be well worth the suffering.

Sara ran her finger sullenly around the rim of her glass. She hadn't so much as sipped the drink that her friends had bought for her, but it had been a nice gesture on their part until they had up and deserted her for some random men that thought they were cute. Mildly, she gazed at the light that the club flashed around, the pulsating flashes working simultaneously with the heavy beat of the music. Sighing lightly, Sarah folded her arms and slid them down the counter until her head rested in the small hole they made, her chin touching the bar itself. She hadn't wanted to come to the loud noisy place and half of her wanted to leave right then. Well, more then half of her. Most of her. It really wasn't the place that she wanted to be, not after.. not after what had happened with him.

Places like this always reminded her of him. He had been one for the bar and club scene and they had often gone out to have fun, play some pool, and then laugh and giggle their way home. Her eyes slid halfway closed as she gazed at her glass, watching the heavy set bartender as he moved through it's foggy surface. Moping at the bar alone was weighing down on her friends, but she didn't want to be at that place. One couldn't find anyone reliable that constantly went to clubs and pubs, her past relationship was solid proof of that. The only thing that she could rely on with someone like that is that they'd eventually leave to find a more interesting girlfriend...

With a sigh, Sara decided she had had enough. She pushed the glass away from herself and moved to stand, sliding off the barstool and brushing herself off. Then, she looked around to flag one of her friends over, but none were looking her way. Finally, Sarah decided to make her way over, trying her hardest not to bump into people. When she was next to her friend, who was currently girating with a strange man on the dance floor, she tapped her arm and pointed towards the door. Instead of letting Sarah leave though, the friend grabbed her arms and started to dance with her instead, laughing and joking through the loud music-- as if Sarah could hear her words perfectly. Smiling and nodding, the young woman tried to pull away to leave, but her friend wasn't getting the idea.

Waiting a few minutes outside the club for his roommate, Darron decided that the boy wasn't coming, and decided to head in without him. Back inside the smell of cigarettes and alcohol almost masked the otherwise overpowering scent of the blood that flowed fast and hot through those on the dance floor. He looked around absently, making his way up to the bar, swallowing occasionally and forcing his eyes to remain their usual green instead of becoming red cat's eyes.

Once to the bar, thankfully without incident or changes of any kind, he ordered a drink to settle his nerves. He was hoping that it would settle his hunger, also, at least a little bit. He blinked, then turned on the barstool and surveyed the crowd that he now faced. Keeping his drink close to his face, he let the smell into his nostrils to block out the smell of blood that otherwise filled his nose.

As he watched the crowd, he noticed one girl. She seemed to stand out in the blur of moving bodies. She was the only one that didn't appear to be wanting to be there. He frowned, seeing that she was desperately trying to get her friend to leave with her, but her friend was too oblivious or too drunk to pay attention. Darron finished his drink and stood up. Maybe, if she was that miserable, she wouldn't be missed. Or, well, he could help get her out of there. Human suffering was something that he didn't like to see.

He might have been a vampire, but he most certainly wasn't one of those vampires who wanted humanity destroyed. He believed that they could live together, which is one of the reasons why he always waited so long between feedings. He tried not to kill anyone if he had the choice not to, but sometimes...it just wasn't up to him. He had finally made his way up to the girl. "I know you don't want me to talk to you, but I was wondering if you wanted an excuse to get out of here. It seems like your friend isn't quite getting the idea."

Sarah moved reluctantly with her friend, swaying to the music a little and smiling as her friend patted her side and cheered her on. Yes, yes, this was all good and fun, but she wanted to leave. Giving a particular man a withering glare when he attempted to grab at her, Sarah decided that she had had enough, and wiggled her arm from her friend, shaking her head slightly as she backed up. It was then that she heard the other voice, a male voice, speak behind her. Turning slightly, the young woman prompty agreed with what he first said. She did not want him speaking to her.

She smiled vaguely at him and raised her voice to be heard over the crowd, "No, that's fine. She doesn't need to know why I'm leaving. She won't retain it anyway." From the way he looked, he was one of those guys that would be used as an excuse and then follow her home. That, quite frankly, wasn't something she wanted. As much as she wanted out of there, she didn't want out in the arms of someone that looked as... interesting... as he did. Sarah waved her hands slightly and then patted her friend on the arm, making her way off the dance floor as fast as she could, evading a few swipes and drunken leers as she quickly found her way out the door.

As soon as the air hit her, Sarah sighed in relief. It was cool and calm out there, much better than in that stuffed up club. She cast a quick glance around her, patted her purse protectively and weaved her way through the crowd that was pushing to go in. That was definitely not a place that she was going to go again. She would have to remember that it was a useless place and really not somewhere that she wanted to be at the moment. Sarah sighed, pushing back some loose strands of hair. That night was currently a failure, so much for finding a male helper there...

Having expected to be shot down, Darron merely nodded and let the girl leave, not following her. He instead headed for the back exit. He had no intentions of following her, but the smell was beginning to get to him, and he was well aware that he needed to feed that night. He really didn't want to hurt her though. Sometimes he hated his appearance, that he always looked so sinister and threatening...but, that was what he was born with, and that was how he was forced to live. He had accepted it a while ago, and now spent his time trying to make up for the fact.

He ran a hand through his dark hair, shaking it loose from the ponytail that he had put it in before he left. He blinked a few times, letting his eyes shift. There was no point in hiding it now, now that he was leaving and he was certain that he was going to feed. If not on that girl, then on someone else who wouldn't mind that his eyes looked strange, or that they were red. Hell, they'd probably think that he was wearing some sort of contact lenses.

He was about to start searching when he smelled something coming. It was a vampire, like him, but also unlike him as well. Suddenly, he worried for the girl that just left him. He didn't want to, but he decided that following her, only until he knew she was safe, was probably the best bet.

Meandering down the street, Sarah rummaged through her purse for a moment to make sure that no one had stolen anything. She carefully checked the pockets, dipping her fingers in them and pulling out some things as her steps slowed to concentrate- well, she checked them as best she could in the dark. Pausing under a street light, the young woman fiddled with a zipper and opened the final pocket. Everything was intact. She smiled, relieved and started down the sidewalk once again. So far, the night was going pretty well, even if the club was an utter disappointment.

The air was warm, the moon hung large and full in the sky above her, it's silvery light almost bright enough to illuminate the street if it hadn't been for the stale light that flickered from the street lamps. Sarah wondered what she'd do once she reached home, she was currently living with one of her girlfriends because it had been too stressful to even consider living with her ex- plus the fact that he was a jealous kind and wouldn't let her bring any other men over. Her friend, she doubted, wouldn't be back until much later that night, and possibly not even until the morning sun had warmed the wooden floors that lined her apartment. Sarah fiddled with her hair, her eyes distant as she thought of things to do.

It was at that moment she got the chill. It was that same kind of chill that she had gotten before when she sensed a creepy old man leering at her. It was the same chill she got when she knew the dark, yawning windows across the street housed a man that liked to be a peeping tom... with his wife. She knew someone was watching her. Sarah picked up her pace, but didn't look back. She didn't want to give whatever kind of creep it was the satisfaction of knowing that she realized they were there. Hopefully, they would grow tired of stalking her and go away... but she was feeling much colder than she had before.

Pleased. Very pleased. She was running away even though she was still walking. Oh very good. So very good. The chase made things all the more tastey and... tastey. Yes, run. I'll follow.. The pair of bright blue eyes flashed red for a second before sinking into darkness, slipping silently after the girl. I'll run follow, and you'll fall.

Sighing to himself, he easily found the woman's scent and began to follow it. Just when he was attempting not to look like a stalker, he found himself falling into the routine once again. He hated himself for doing it, but he felt that if she was attacked by the...the creature that was following her and Darron wasn't there to save her, then it would be worse than himself looking like he was stalking her.

Closing his eyes and letting his other senses find the girl once again, he turned a corner. It was getting stronger now, that other presence that followed her. It wasn't good. It was a vampire, he had been right about that. At least, as far as he could tell it was, he was still rather far off. Whatever it was, vampire or not, it was hungry. Hungry to the point of madness, it seemed. "Not that far now," he said to himself, his sharp green eyes picking up her outline in the distance. He closed the distance quickly, but stayed behind her, waiting for something to happen. He wasn't going to be the one to 'attack' her before the other...being did what it wanted to try.

But, what would happen if something was to happen, and he waited until the thing was attacking her, then he would be responsible for anything that would happen with her. Taking another moment, he pulled an earring out of his pocket. He could use the excuse that he thought she'd dropped it, and had happened to see her walking on his own way home. "Excuse me, miss," he said, jogging a bit to get closer to her but keeping his hands to himself. He let the earring dangle from his hand as he held it up. It was silver, mostly, just a few silver strings hanging from the ring piece. "When you were leaving, I thought I saw you drop this. And, well, when I saw you on my way home, I figured that I would check and make sure," he said, giving a small chuckle and a smile to show that he was basically harmless.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 22, 2008 10:32 am

Sarah turned abruptly when she heard the voice behind her. Automatically she was wary of him, more so when he said that he had come from the club, and even more so as she recognized him as the man that had offered to 'give her a reason' to leave. She shook her head, not even bothering to glance at the earring that he held out. "I'm sorry, I don't wear earrings." She moved her hair just enough to show him an unpierced ear before letting her hair drop over it. Offering him a small, apologetic smile she added, "But thank you." She didn't want to seem too terribly rude, but there was no reason why she should trust him. After all, it seemed as though he had just followed her out of the club, and, needing a reason to speak to her, had somehow produced the earring. Maybe it was one that he kept with him for just these occations... maybe it was one of his own. Then again, he could have honestly thought she dropped it and was feeling a tad more confident in approaching her since he had already talked to her. She hated that her mind would betray her with those doubts.

Turning back around, she started on her way again, hoping that the conversation was closed and he'd let her go without idle chatter. He might have been drunk though, and then she'd have to find some way to dissuade him from following her all the way home. Sarah nearly sighed aloud to herself, it was another reason why she didn't go to clubs and bars...

Closer, the creature strayed, keeping it's eyes on it's prize when suddenly he interferred. Who was he? The blue eyes narrowed swiftly as they roamed over the man and picked up his scent. Teeth barred as a light snarl trembled past his throat. Damn. Damn you. You're blocking prey.. but wait.. she's going away. Closer, closer. Come closer. Somehow, it had gotten ahead of her. Not remembering how, the creature really didn't care. It wanted the girl. It wanted her blood, and if that... Other came in the way of what it wanted, well then... that Other would die.

Darron let out a nervous laugh. "Oh, I'm quite sorry, really," he said. "I'll be going now. I live around the area too..." he said, trailing off and turning a corner around the next block. He was ready to give up on her, felt his hunger transcending the ability to hold it back much longer. He was about to hurry back to the club when he smelled him. There was another around here, close, and he couldn't let her get hurt. Not at all. He decided that he would continue trailing her, but would not do anything else to let himself be known. He wasn't stupid, he knew that she obviously didn't want anything to do with him, and he wasn't in the mood to be pepper-sprayed. He shuddered at his first memory of that, and wasn't in a hurry to repeat it.

He waited until the woman had passed him, then fell into step a bit behind her; he was close enough to strike if the need arose, but far enough away, and his steps were light enough, that she shouldn't have been able to hear him. He was, as much as he hated to admit it, an expert hunter, and he could have walked right next to her and she never would have known he was coming. Patience, Darron. Wait for it to show itself, he thought, blending in with the shadows as much as possible. He was in luck, and it was dark around this area. So dark that if he were hiding, not even the other demons would be able to find him easily.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 03, 2008 10:13 am

He's leaving. Good. He slunk closer, sticking to the shadows like he did for all his prey. He wouldn't reveal himself, no not yet. He would wait until she was at her door, wait until she was going to unlock it and all her attention was focused on her keys, then he would pounce. Yes, then he would attack.

Sarah relaxed slightly when the man moved away. She had been expecting a fight, she had been expecting something to happen that was bad, wrong, but thankfully nothing did. Sighing softly, she rubbed her forehead and trotted forward a little faster. She was almost home, she wanted to get there sooner. Turning the corner to her block, she stopped a second, realizing that the lights were out again. Suddenly, she felt very uneasy. Glancing around, the young woman checked every shadow to the best of her abilities before strolling confidently forward, her insides trembling. She wouldn't look scared, she couldn't look scared. She raised her chin higher. Studies showed that women who were confident didn't get attacked nearly as much as mousy women.

Striding up to her stairs, Sarah trotted to her door and then rummaged coolly through her purse for her keys. So far, so good. Now she just had to find her keys and-

"Hello there..."

The sound of the voice sent chills up Sarah's spine as she spun to look down at a man who was suddenly at her stairs. He hadn't been there before. Where had he come from? Did she have a sign that said 'freaks come to me' pasted on her or something? Slowly, she closed her fingers around the mace as the man climbed up a stair toward her. "What do you want?"

"What do I want?" He watched her, she was trembling, he could hear her fast heartbeat pumping that precious blood in her veins. It sounded deliciously frightened. His eyes flashed red. "I want... you." With that he suddenly launched himself at her.

Sarah yelped in surprise and whipped out her mace, pointing it at the man as he flung himself at her and spraying wildly, hoping to catch his eyes as she turned away and squeezed her eyes shut in fear. What was that? His eyes... they turned red! Her legs felt like jell-o and she heard the man roar suddenly. Peeking out, she saw the strange, dark and violent looking man stumbling back on the sidewalk, rubbing his eyes furiously. When he looked up, murder was in his tearing eyes.

"You little wench!"

Darron stayed in the shadows, watching, like he knew he would. He was much too good natured to leave a woman in danger, which this one was whether she wanted to see it or not. He couldn't get into the other creature's mind, not at all, but he was quite sure that he was planning to make her a meal. And that was something that Darron couldn't let happen. There was no way that he was going to let this girl get hurt, despite how badly she'd treated him. It wasn't her fault really, and he refused to blame her for it. It was one of his downfalls, really, his love for humans. Others of his kind had always had problems with him because he felt that humans were equal to vampires, that they were the same, and had always wanted to fit in in society, but found it quite impossible.

Staying in the shadows, he followed them up to Sarah's doorstep. That was when the creature made itself known to her. Of course. A coward, he thought, one that would chase her until she was trapped, until there was no sport. He tried not to let out a sigh of pure disgust for the creature that stood before Sarah. He would enjoy taking his prey from him, and hopefully causing physical pain to the man.

A smile formed on Darron's face, showing his teeth, not that anyone could see them, when she pulled out the mace. He had been ready to spring on him when she had done it, and was glad that he had restrained himself, otherwise he'd be the one swimming in mace right now.

Upon hearing his reaction, he sprang to action. Jumping onto the railing, he kicked the vampire in the chest, pushing him back, then grabbed the girl and pulled her off the other side of the stairs. He would be disoriented for a few minutes, long enough for Darron to get Sarah out of the way and explain a few things to her - whether or not she really wanted things explained.
PostPosted: Fri Jun 06, 2008 7:11 pm

Sarah gasped as another person suddenly appeared out of nowhere, and leaped up on the railing before connecting his foot with the other's chest. She didn't have long enough to react before she suddenly found herself suddenly snatched from her spot. Feeling suddenly like she was a rabbit between two violent wolves, the young woman shrieked and struggled. She wasn't sure if she was fighting a 'good' or 'bad' person, but she didn't want to stick around to find out; a bite kick and a scratch later she found herself heading for the ground. Sarah didn't give herself a moment to be startled, as soon as her feet hit the ground on their own, she bolted down the sidewalk.

The vampire stumbled back, suddenly swamped by the scent of another vampire. His teeth bared in anger as his prey was swept away. Rubbing his eyes violently, he tried to gain his sight back as he caught the sound of his prey running away. A snarl ripped from his throat as he stumbled off in the same direction.

The woman flailed, but Darron was perfectly willing to let her go, and in fact moved his arms away from her after being scratched, hoping that she was able to run faster than the vampire recovered. He smelled something under the scent of mace, very faintly, and blinked. Pushing himself up, he took off in a dead run for the vampire that had attacked her. She had done something that would change her immediate enemy's course, and hers, whether she cared for it or not.

He watched as the vampire ran for her, and knew that there would be no way for her to get away without being caught. Not unless she was amazingly crafty, and while he had faith that she'd be able to do it, she shouldn't be forced to suffer the fate that she would be facing should she not be able to escape.

Catching up easily with the other vampire, probably because his eyes still burned with the mace, he lunged for him, grabbing him around the waist and dragging him down to the ground and holding tight. This time, he'd not let go so easily, now that he didn't want his prey to escape.

He hissed in a breath angrily as the other vampire suddenly tackled him to the ground. Writhing and twisting, the creature instead attacked who was attacking him. He would have that woman! There was a faint lingering scent that alerted something in the back of his mind, but he shoved it out of the way. No, it didn't matter...! Grimacing and snarling, he did everything he could think of to get the other to let go, hoping the woman wouldn't be too far away before he destroyed this creature latched onto him.

The sound of inhuman snarls behind her spurred her feet to go even faster. She wouldn't look back, and didn't as she skidded around a corner and went around to the other side of her home. She would get in that way. The sound of anyone following stopped, the growls and snarls faded slightly and remained where they were behind her. Stumbling up the steps to her apartment, Sarah fumbled with her key and jammed it into the lock. Twisting she shoved her shoulder into the door and fairly fell onto the floor before yanking the key out and slamming the door behind her. With her back against the cool metal, Sarah sank to the floor and panted, her heart pounding against her chest like a frantic bird trying to get loose.

She stayed like that for a moment before shakily standing and deadbolting the door. Hopefully that would be enough to keep whatever was out there, out.

Darron's nails dug into the creature as he pulled himself up, throwing him into a nearby brick house. There, he used violence that he didn't like to think that he had to show the vampire what happened to those who messed with humans, and those humans especially that were marked with his scent. It was the most violent that he could remember himself being in...years. But, this vampire seemed to be the type that didn't much care for words, but only for brute force. So, Darron felt the need to get his point across very clearly.

He left the vampire unconscious, with a gaping head wound that he wouldn't soon forget. "So you see," Darron said calmly, wiping blood off his hands with the vampire's shirt, and taking off his jacket. It would be bad if the woman was to see him like that. The woman...where had she run off to?

Looking around, he took a deep breath, tracing her scent. He found it easily, following it to an apartment complex. He also smelled her fear from where he stood outside. He wouldn't bother her again that night. It was too much for her to handle. But he would be back in the morning, to explain to her what was going on, and the irreversible law that she had just invoked.
