The sun was shining down brightly on the pale green lioness' back. Tien was crouched down slightly in the grass, trying to blend in as much as possible. Her pale blue eyes were gazing forward, watching the butterfly in front of her. All her attention was placed on the butterfly flittering before her. After some time had passed, she crept close and closer to the flying insect before she leapt out to pounce on it playfully. Of course she wouldn't actually try to harm the butterfly which is why she had landed right before it and watch it flutter around in a frenzy from her attack. She couldn't help but let out a soft giggle, she was being such a cub right now.

Unlike the pale green female, Chuiwa'karatasi was bored. He had been away from the Pride Lands for some time now, and he still hadn't found a suitable female. Originally he had thought that it would be easy. He would often get complimented on his fabulous coat, and females tended to take an instant shine to him. He had yet to find 'the one' though.
As he slowly walked along, his lime green eyes suddenly fell on a butterfly. Grinning, he crouched down into the grass and started creeping towards it.

With the butterfly in view, Tien's pale blue eyes shifted back and forth to follow the butterfly's motions. It wasn't until she looked off to her side when she spotted a figure not too far off in the distance, crouched down and creeping forward. Curious, she couldn't help but to wonder who it was. It wasn't someone she knew, as the pale lioness didn't have too many friends. The butterfly wasn't given too much attention as her focus was now on the figure.
With a playful look, she crept towards the figure, getting close enough to where she could pick out the male's black mane and pale green color. Oh! He almost matched her, she thought with a chuckle. In a leap, she leapt towards the male with a wide smile, "Hi ya!"

Chuiwa'karatasi was too busy paying attention to the butterfly to notice the approaching female. By the time he spotted the movement of another figure, it was practically on top of him. When the female pounced, the seriously surprised male had just enough time to roll on to his side, happily preventing himself from getting landed on.
Blinking, he raised his head to get a look at the figure. Her coat was almost the exact same shade of green as his, which was pretty cool. "Hi there." He replied with a grin, before rolling back on to his stomach and getting back to his feet. "What's your name?" Chuiwa'karatasi wasn't the type to mince words.

As the male rolled away from her pounce, Tien landed on the ground next to him. As she stood up, she flicked her tail as she shook her body. Her light blue gaze went towards the male as she smiled brightly. The butterfly she had been stalking had since flittered in fright from all the commotion that she had created. "I'm Tien!"
Her head tilted slightly before she asked, "What's your name? Are you traveling like me?" She was curious, it wasn't very often she got to meet others so she was definitely taking this opportunity to get to know the male, at least she could say that she had made a friend! Her eyes glittered at the thought.

Chuiwa'karatasi continued to grin as he watched the female shake herself off, before he did the same. Since they both had pale coats, it was easy for them to get dirty. The playful male had never minded this fact though, as having fun was more important than keeping clean.
With a last flick of his fluffy black mane, he bowed his head politely. Apparently, manners were important too. "My name is Chuiwa'karatasi. Pleased to meet you!" At her next question, Chuiwa'karatasi nodded with enthusiasm. "I sure am! I left my home in search of fe-" He stopped. "Uh, I mean...friends! Yeah, I left my home in search of friends." The pale green male figured that if he told Tien that he was actually searching for females, it would scare her away.

At the male's words, Tien couldn't help but perk up. Her eyes twinkled brightly as she smiled, "Really? That's wonderful! We can be friends then!" And then, a soft blush spread across her cheeks as she completely forgot to introduce herself. How silly of her! She just tends to forgot the little details every so often. "I'm Tien, it's a pleasure to meet you Chuiwa'karatasi!"
Her head tilted slightly before she felt something click inside of her head. Chuiwa was looking for friends and she wanted to meet others, so they should become friends! "We can be friends! I don't have too many friends, and as they say, the more the merrier!" She meant every word, of course. She liked to be around others, when she wasn't wandering on her own that is.

Chuiwa'karatasi couldn't help but laugh a little, amused by this female's tendency to forget and repeat things. Not only did she introduce herself twice, she also said that they should be friends twice. There was no harm in it, in fact, he thought it was kinda cute. Thinking it best not to ask her about it though, he just smiled and nodded.
"I don't have many friends either." He replied, his grin turning a tad more sheepish. He had always been a family lion, prefering to mess around with his tomboy sister Noyana than look for other females to play with. The way he saw it, pretty much all Pride Lander females were stuffy and not much fun.

Pale blue eyes held Chuiwa in her gaze as Tien listened to him intently. She couldn't help but to smile, things were certainly looking up for her. Her tail flicked slightly before she tilted her head, curious if Chuiwa wanted to play with her. "Would you want to play with me? I was hunting butterflies earlier, before I met you," She paused briefly, "It's very fun!" While at times she can act her age, she was ultimately a cub at heart and thus, loved to play games and hoped that she wouldn't scare Chuiwa away with her cubbish antics.

Chuiwa'karatasi's face seemed to light up when Tien asked him if he wanted to play. The pale green lion had found that there was much more fun in competing though rather than simple playing, so after he nodded in agreement, he thought about how he could turn butterfly hunting into a competition.
"How about this then? The one who catches the biggest butterfly wins!" He wasn't sure if Tien would be up for the challenge, but he hoped she would be. He hadn't had a good competition in ages.

Just as Chuiwa's face lit up, Tien's face did the same as he had turned the game around into a competition. Oh, this would be fun! Bubbling with excitment, she nodded eagerly, "Oh! That sounds wonderful!"
Her tail flicked slightly before she asked, "Shall we meet back here then, whenever you find your butterfly?" As she stood there waiting for his response, she was trying to rack her brain with areas that she knew where butterflies would be...especially some of the bigger variations.

"Sure!" Chuiwa'karatasi wasn't quite sure at that moment how he would be able to bring a butterfly back to this spot without squishing it, but he was confident that he would be able to figure something out.
"Ok, on your marks...get set...GO!" Not really giving the lioness much chance to react, Chuiwa'karatasi bolted off in the direction of a large patch of wild flowers he had passed not long before meeting Tien. He couldn't remember if there had been butterflies there, but it was worth a shot, since butterflies loved flowers.

Just as she was about to make another comment, Tien was surprised to hear Chuiwa so GO! already! The pale lioness couldn't help but to giggle at the male, apparently he was just as eager to get this competition going as she was. She called out teasingly to the male, "You cheater!" And then she darted off towards the place that she was thinking of earlier.
It wasn't too far from here, the patches of flowers that she had spotted. Though, she didn't remember seeing any butterflies there at the time. But it didn't hurt to try and look again. Her pale eyes were looking forward as the colorful speckles came into view, hoping to see a butterfly or two around. She wanted to win, it's been quite a while since she's played a game with another and this is making her quite happy.

Chuiwa'karatasi laughed as he heard Tien call after him. It reminded him of some of the times when he had raced with his sister Noyana. Why was he always accused of cheating? Grinning, he kept on going as fast as he could until he reached the patch of wild flowers. Rather than stopping as he reached them, he simply ran straight through them, hoping to flush out some butterflies.
As he skidded to a stop and turned, all he saw was a flurry of petals dancing in the wind. Maybe he should have stopped rather than running straight through. Seeing that there was no butterflies there, he looked around to see if Tien was in view. He wouldn't be able to live it down if a girl beat him at his own game.

As Chuiwa's pawsteps faded from her, Tien's eyes were content on finding their treasure. It was times like this where she was happy to find someone who wanted to spend the time of day with her. Since she had no memories of any siblings and her parents were lone gone, she did get lonely from time to time.
Her pale gaze swept around her as the flowers had a soft aroma. Her tail flicked slightly as she thought she spotted something flittering not too far off. Was it a butterfly? She hoped so! She glanced back over her shoulder to see if Chuiwa was around, or if he was going to call out and tell her that he had found a butterfly before her. But a few seconds had passed and no call, so she crept forward curiously at the flying insect. Just as she took steps closer to it, it began to take shape into something she wasn't looking for. A dragonfly. Darn, she had been close!
