Sigh... Somebody hacked the account of one of the co-gms of my guild and used him to rob the entire guild bank (I mean everything).. We had FIVE TABS... over a thousand gold was taken and many more thousands in items..
Anyway.. It's frustrating.. I put a lot of stuff in to that bank..
blizzard has locked the guys account while they check it out, but I imagine they won't do jack s**t...

I feel sorry for you, i eally do, but you should change bank settings so only Guild Leader can take out cash. That's how we have it anyway.

That's too bad. Our guild bank was robbed last week too. Blizzard didn't do anything. At least the guy didn't get any gold, only the GM can take out gold. He did make off with some blue patterns, void crystals, large prismatics, motes, and primals though. The worst part was, he was an officer with us for a long time, and he was actually a good friend of ours that we liked and trusted a great deal. So no one saw this coming.
So we made some changes after that. My partner was GM while I was officer along with three of our friends. After that one friend left, he made a "Co-GM" rank for me. So now we have GM, Co-GM, and two officers. Only the GM can take out unlimited money. Co-GM (me) has a limit of 50 gold. And only GM and Co-GM can take out stuff now. So now we feel more secure and don't have to worry about our remaining two officer/friends going insane out of the blue like that last one.....

So whoever robbed them had GM access anyway.

I must say that this sounds horrible. Blizz should really make a better system for dealing with these sort of issues, I mean keyloggers ait that uncommon, can happen to anybody, and for that the entire guild shouldn't suffer. I mean they should get replacements for that, and the hacker should be severely punished, since he prolly sent it to some other char, it shouldn't be so hard to track.
In any case, hope it works out for you guys.

I have a solution. Don't put stuff you want back into the guild bank.
Of course, to have any experience with guild banks, one must first have members in their guild. So I can't talk.

They need to make some type of password for guild banks =X or hell, regular banks. Just something for extra security that would be harder to keylog mixed in with in-game typing.
This happened to my Alliance guild, they had a tab full of potions and recipes for the raiding rank and above, not realizing the potential of hackers + guild banks.

It's not a matter of personally wanting the stuff back. It's a matter of people donating to a group bank so that everyone can share, but one person takes advantage by taking it all.

Ooh hey, password. Thats a great idea.
It happened in my guild too, but no one saw it coming. We keep all the really expensive/rare s**t in one tab that only the officers have access to even look at, but all the profession mats/rep items/green gear/patterns go in other tabs, which everyone has access to. The guy who stole it was one rank below officer so he had a lot of access, it was bad. Luckily none of the purples got stolen, but still, we lost a lot of good stuff cuz of that person.
I guess the least you can do is report the b*****d and make a post in your realm forum explaining what happened and telling people to keep an eye out for whoever did it so the same thing doesnt happen to them.
