does anyone think that the series would be better if goku never existed?

Are you serious? Goku is the base behind almost everyhting that occurs in DB, DBZ, and DBGT. Without him, you'd have no main character (unless someone else is) and therefore no plot. Now if you had asked if it's necessary to have Vegeta or Picollo, then it would be a reasonable question.
Also, please don't bump. The guild forum is slow moving.

the whole DB series revolves around Goku saving the world, so without him, there is no DB! but then again, DBZ kinda revolves more around Gohan than Goku, well, u get where i'm going with this right?

DB would be non-existant without Goku, but aparently DBZ was meant to be more based around Gohan. But Goku has a much stronger presence as a character in the anime than Gohan, so in a sense I guess that Goku 'stole the spotlight' from Gohan.
But truly, it wouldn't be the same without Goku.

But truly, it wouldn't be the same without Goku. When Toriyama first created the series, it was supposed to only go up to the Freiza saga and revolve around Gohan. But the fans enjoyed Goku more, so he made Goku the main one after a while longer.
