 Tension was not something that the flutter enjoyed. It made the atmosphere more cramped and uncomfortable than it needed to be and she couldn't stand it... Nor could she stand being watched as if any moment she was going to do something that would make the tension worse.
She could understand that there was trouble. She could understand that they needed to stay together. She could understand that they had to watch out for everything.
She could not, on the other hand, understand why they were just waiting around for something that had not yet found them. She could not understand the helpless feeling, nor could she understand the things that remained unspoken.
Her wings twittered slightly as she landed on a log near a stream that was picking up life as the ice began to melt. Spring was on its way... They should be celebrating. They should be getting ready to greet the change of season and welcome the new lives of the two little ones that had just emerged from their baskets.
They should be doing so many things and, instead of that, they were worrying and she wanted nothing to do with them.

He'd spent most of the morning speaking with the Dark Lady about things and trying to get her to understand that loitering around wasn't going to help any. He thought he'd made her see a bit of light but he wasn't sure it was enough to make her speak to Telikos about it.
Shaking his mane out as he headed away from their clearing he went in search of the little one. She would be around somewhere not anywhere the others. He could tell things were starting to get to Tapanga and he wanted, needed, to make sure she was alright.

Snorting softly she fluttered down off of the log, grumbling several things to herself as she trotted along the ground until she reached the mouth of the log, flopping down inside it. They all called her senseless... Well, not all of them and not always out loud... But some of them certainly thought it.
She just didn't understand why they were waiting... Especially not now that it was warmer. They had all grown too comfortable in each other's company again. Something was going to happen when they least expected it and then... And then...
Her nose wrinkled at the thought as she rested her head on the ground, wings folding against her sides. She didn't even want to think about it.

He could smell traces of the little mare about and stopped once he'd reached a clearing. "Tapanga?" She had to be about somewhere.
Of course she was probably hiding somewhere to pout about the other's. Hopefully she wasn't hiding somewhere that she wouldn't be able to hear him. He'd be worried if he couldn't find her.

Her ears flickered as the sound of her name coming from a familiar voice touched them. She lifted her head slightly as if contemplating giving Dynatos an easy response... But she was feeling like being difficult today. She had come here to get away, not to find company.
"No. There no Tapanga here. Only log."

He grinned and shook his head at her response. Of course she'd be difficult. It wasn't as if he'd come here to tell her to come back but she wouldn't have known that. She'd most likely expect him to try to talk her into 'behaving'.
"Well, if there's only a log here then i suppose i should keep looking. No sense in talking to a hunk of wood. It woudn't appericiate my company at all"

"Sometimes hunks of wood listen better than hunks of flesh." She snorted softly as she stood up, giving her head a light toss before peeking out of the entrance to her little hideaway. "So stubborn. Wood doesn't argue. Wood provides shelter and stays quiet."

"Rarely do i find hunks of wood better company than a hunk of flesh." He laughed softly. "I prefer my company to talk back you know." He wasn't often one to be found by himself. It just got, well, stale.

She let her wings twitch slightly as she stretched them out, fanning them in the air that had gotten a bit warmer since she'd first wandered away from their small herd. Her nose wrinkled as she tilted her head up before shifting sizes, tail swishing slowly behind her. "Maybe you do... Tired of getting in the way. Tired of fussing. Tired of tension. Everyone is like big tiger waiting to snap."

Once Tapanga was more his size he walked over and leaned down a bit to rest his nose against hers. "I was speaking to Alysida about it. We can't just sit here forever. There is no reason we can not watch our backs and go on about our lives at the same time."
They were all strong, aside from Lady perhaps, and could take care of themselves. They did not need to be watched over like sheep.

She was certain that they could all take care of themselves, even Lady. She had, after all, made it for as long as she had without Telikos hovering about. It was good that everyone was worried, yes, but there were such things as going too far.
Sighing softly she brushed her muzzle against the stallion's, resisting the urge to shift sizes once more so that she could curl up in his mane to bury herself in its scent. "There is strength in numbers... But we are strong alone too. Not weak. Not foals. Not needed to be watched over all the time."

He nipped lightly at her mane before he took a step back for a moment. "They are just overly worried. Alysida and Telikos lost our home once. They fear loosing it a second time"
He was not worried so much but he knew they would until things were safe.

"Home... Is not a place. Why can they not see that?" Her brow furrowed as she looked at Dynatos for a moment before her gaze lowered to the ground. Home was not a patch of ground where one could find comfort. Home was wherever one's heart was. It was so simple... How could the other two not see it in each other?
"We make new home. Foals will grow up strong. We will be happy here. They will see. No reason for fussies."

"You just need to let them fuss for a bit." He moved back over and rested his neck against hers. "They will fuss for a bit and then they will realize that no amount of fussing is going to make us any safer than before."
He hoped his talk with Alysida had made her see that a bit. The foals would be fine and so would everyone else.

"No fussing." Her nose wrinkled as she tugged away from him, wings twittering. "No more fussing. Spring is coming. Should be happy, not fussing. Should be... Doing fun things." A slight smirk curved the corners of her muzzle as she shifted sizes before taking to the air, buzzing quickly about Dynatos's head. "Should be having fun... Not worrying."
