Ah, the graveyard. A place of beautiful death, a shrine to the gods and a reminder to foolish mortals that all will come to an end when they see fit. Glorious decay, a magnificent ultimatum by the almighty lion gods! If only the hyena filth hadn't soiled it so, it would be paradise!
For a certain insane lioness, that is.
The bright yellow lioness padded along the borders of these 'blessed' lands, a mischievous smirk on her maw. If ever there was a place where she could find a good fight to take out her frustrations on, it was here. Nothing excited Oki more than a good helping of bloodshed, and the battle scarred lioness was feeling particularly violent today. She lept onto a rock and let out an ear-shattering roar, smirking as it echoed through the bony landscape. Any minute now, a hyena or two would surely come running, and she'd be able to satisfy her blood lust, or die trying.
Oh, the thrill of it all!
Of course, Oki's lack of sanity made it easy for her to justify to herself why she wanted so badly to kill. Hyenas were scum, wretched mistakes of nature who stained the gods' beautiful creation. In her mind, she was doing them a favor by doing her part to exterminate them.
At least it made sense to SOMEONE.

Uwivu trotted along the border of the elephant graveyard aimlessly. Obviously this wasn't the ideal area to catch prey, but for now, it would have to do. Most of the lush areas were already taken by a large pride, if not, one would probably kick him out. He would love to take on one or maybe even two lions that would challenge him for territory, but usually it was an entire large pride! As much as he loved the adrenaline rush of a good fight, he would not be willing to die in one. That would mean he wouldn't be able to live to fight again. He smacked a rock in frustration of hunger. WHY?! Why couldn't he have a single simple pleasure in life? He had no family, no mate, no friends, no pack no food, no water and pretty much any other 'no' you could think of. To say the least, Uwivu was frustrated. He walked along, a scowl on his face as he thought about how he hated the world.
Suddenly, a loud roar echoed close by. Just what he needed! He felt like beating the stuffing out of any lion that looked at him funny. He never thought there was any better therapy than Battle Therapy. Why talk about it when you can show someone how you're feeling when your claw is in their face? Besides, then he might get a meal. Uwivu didn't do well when he was hungry.
He trotted over to the base of the rock eagerly in hopes of finding some lion that would provoke him just enough for him to release his untamed fury on. Instead he found a bright yellow lioness. Wait, a lioness? He couldn't fight a lioness! The only way he could fight a lioness was in self defense. Ughh... This was not his day. He let out a deep sigh of disappointment and decided it was not her fault she was a lioness. He had nothing against lionesses except for the fact that he couldn't fight them. Even if she wouldn't attack him, he was still mildly curious of what she was doing. "Hello," he said with a little more irritation than he meant to.

Oki scowled at the lion, leaping down from the rock gracefully and landing several feet away as she observed him. "Hello indeed." She said curtly, noting the irritation in his voice as well.
"Well don't just stand there, tell me your name." She snapped, not deliberately being harsh, but making no effort to mask her own displeasure either. "Mine is Mo'okiko, though I am called Oki."
With an impatient flick of her tail, she plopped her brightly-colored backside onto the ground and sat up proudly as she stared at him with her piercing yellow eyes. Her gaze went from his less-than happy expression, all the way over his body as she searched for something to critique, eager to find a good reason to yell at this random stranger.
And yet... There seemed nothing wrong with him.
How odd.
Normally, there was some defect, either in personality or physical being, that made each creature she met worthy of some punishment, but this male seemed... Adequate! His mane was full, his body was strong, and his attitude was not unlike her own, to be perfectly honest.
How... Interesting.

Uwivu's eyes widened very slightly as he saw that she snapped back at him. That was very rare in for him to see. For the most part, he had seen lionesses that were either one of several things; utterly and completely loud and obnoxious, which he despised, others were very quiet. He had nothing against those, but they just didn't really seem like the type of lioness he would be friends with. Some were even total flirts. Yech. He hated those most of all. He was not one to want someone swooning over his every sign of strength. Then they would want to settle down and have cubs. Obviously, he didn't let them get anywhere near that close but that is what he imagined would happen if he did.
Uwivu watched as Oki jumped down from the rock. She seemed to have a strangely commanding nature. He generally didn't take to being told what to do very well but for some odd reason, he couldn't think of any way to retaliate. Rather than standing there, looking like someone who was struggling just to think properly, he answered with less aggression, "My name is Uwivu'asikari though you may call me Uwivu." He said this as he sat down yet upright. He tried to look strong and healthy, which he was as he attempted to hide the fact that he was hungry. He found it rather odd to find a lioness that was not as was thought as typical. "I came over here looking for the source of the loud roar that was unleashed earlier. Did you happen to hear it?"

"Fine then, Uwivu it is." Oki's tone sounded ever so slightly interested, as if he were engaging her in a fascinating conversation. Her eyes continued to trace every muscle in his body as she forced herself to continue searching for some reason not to associate with him.
"Hear it? Ha, if you're looking for the owner of that roar, you've found her." She smirked, her eyes wandering to his lower back where she noticed an odd marking unlike she had ever seen. What could that be? It looked like a sign of strength, or even an untamed wildness that piqued Oki's curiosity. Any unique marking usually caused her to admire the owner even more, perhaps out of envy because she lacked any herself.
"On a more serious note... What do you think of the lion gods?" In a last-ditch effort to force his imperfection, Oki focused her attack on his beliefs. What if he spoke ill of their almighty creators? Then, surely, it would be a good reason to beat him silly! But then again... What if he didn't? What was she to do with a 'perfect' lion such as him? Oki had been thinking of finding a partner to travel with for some time, but she had alwas assumed she'd find a female companion. Someone to be an equal to her! A male though... That was an interesting idea. Someone inferior would be a good deal of fun to kick around in her free time.
Ah, but the MALENESS of him... Such a setback. Perhaps he'd be useful for something, but until she figured out what, she was hesitant to ask him to travel at her side.

Uwivu was amazed at the fact that she had unleashed such a powerful roar. It is not that she looked weak, it's just, she's a she! Not to mention the fact that she talked to him so sternly! He for some reason was curious of why, even though they had just met, spoke as if he were someone who knew him and expected him to behave badly. Did she treat everyone like this? Or, was he perhaps, something special?
To avoid looking foolish by stuttering or fumbling over his words, he said, "I was simply curious to see why you roared." This was not one of Uwivu's most cleaver recoveries, this was also, not one of his most honest moments. But then again, what could he have said? ' Oh yeah, I came running here to see where the lion was so I could fight him. But since you're not a lion, I'm not going to fight you.' That would've sounded horrible. He just was grateful that he was able to avoid such a catastrophe. She didn't really look like she would be one to take well to that.
As he heard her mention the lion gods, he was willing to take any distraction to take his mind off of what a fool he could have made of himself. "Yes, the lion gods are wonderful and glorious creators. I find it amazing that they could make such beautiful works of art. I am proud that I have been made by them and been made as a humble servant. Uwivu was silently hoping that she too saw the glory of the lion gods.

Oki found herself torn between the powerful urge to vomit at the idea that she had failed to find a flaw in this male, and the equally powerful urge to dance merrily! While she despised anyone who she couldn't readily punish or frighten, she seemed to have found someone worthy of traveling with her.
"Your words ring true, Uwivu." She smiled her usual twisted, mad smile, but with a hint of honest happiness breaking through. "Our marvelous creators would be proud to hear your praises. I, myself, am a messenger for the gods, and I do believe that our meeting is no coincidence." She nodded, standing up and beginning to pace circles around the male. No longer searching for a flaw, but admiring the positives of his muscular body.
"I wonder, would you be willing to travel with me, as an apprentice messenger for the glorious creators? Together, we could bring twice the punishment to the unworthy and please the gods with twice the speed." Another hint of madness echoed through her voice as she spoke. The thought of doing her duty even better with a partner was sounding like a better idea by the second!
Perhaps it would be worth her time to seek out others to help her cause...
Or...
Make some herself. Yes, that was an idea. Why didn't she see it before? Males had SOME use, after all. Reproduction of the species! A necessary evil, but one that Oki was now considering as a possibility. Just think of what she could accomplish with two, three, or even more young minds to shape into faithful creatures with brutal strength! Almost like her own little army.
Oooh, she liked the sound of that.

Uwivu let out a sigh of relief in his own mind as he heard that she was a strong follower of the lion gods. He was not quite so relived that she was a faithful servant as much as she wasn't offended by the fact that he was. To mask his relief, he simply nodded and returned the smile only not anywhere near as twisted. His eyes followed her as she paced circles but didn't turn his head. To him, that would make him think that the other doesn't trust them out of their sight. Although he was a bit curious to why she kept circling him. Oh well.
Uwivu's smile grew as he heard what she had to say. Undoubtedly, he wanted to travel with her. At the very least, things never got boring with her around. "Yes, I will travel with you."

Oki flashed a toothy grin at him, finishing a final circle around him before sitting down before him. "Excellent." She said simply, cackling slightly.
"Of course, you will do what I say, when I say it. You are in training, remember? Obey my orders, do not question me, and we will get along splendidly." Her words were quick, but clear. A sign of how excited she was, though she doubted that Uwivu knew exactly why she was so.
"Come, we have much to do. We will find a place to rest, but tomorrow your training begins." With that, she stood and turned away. She began to walk briskly toward a nearby clearing, not bothering to look back to see if Uwivu followed. She was quite sure that he would.

Uwivu continued to smile as he was happy to have someone to travel with. But as he heard what she had to say about doing what she said, his smile flickered for a second. Wait, he hadn't agreed to be an apprentice did he? He didn't remember saying anything about that. Oh well. How bad could it be. Besides, he didn't want to upset her within the first 30 seconds of traveling together by asking her about it. She seemed a bit strange but than again, everyone seemed odd to him. At least this sort of weirdness he could deal with. or at least he hoped so.
After taking in so much within a short span of time, he felt like shouting 'WHAT?!' to the world. This didn't seem like a good idea so he simply settled for plastering a confused look on his face after she had turned away. She was right about him following her, however. What had he gotten himself into?
