Okay each of the main characters are funny in their own way but whos humor gets through the best? We all know Kuwabara is the comic releif character but is there anyone else on the show (in your opinion) funnier, or does he just claim this title? Personally I think almost anything Kuwabara says is funny, but almost anything Hiei says is funny as well especially his really short one-liners XD (ex. "Is it possible for you to SHUT UP?") YEAH. Hiei's humor is somewhat hard to understand because as Yusuke's said before its rather "twisted" and some people take it the wrong way and just think he's being rude. Yusuke tries to be funny throughout the series (and usually is) but his humor is generally somewhat breif. Kurama may be one of the most amusing characters, most of all because its rare when hes being comical and not calm and serious 3nodding heart
So please, who do you think is the true master of comedy? (no beautiful Suzuka puns please biggrin )

Hiei is rude, that is why he's funny. wink Rude, sarcastic characters do tend to bring humor to a show/series/book/etc. But the one to claim the title here is Kuwabara. Every time he opens his mouth, I laugh (when he's not serious, of course).
I especially love the scene where Hiei was sleeping after having used the dragon technique against Bui. Kuwabara took up a pen and asked Yusuke 'Should we draw something on him?'. I laughed all day because I picture Hiei walking around with a drawn Hitler-mustache on him. xd

Took me a while to reply to this didn't it? Sorry, but I had to think about it a little, 'cause I think most of the main characters are funny in their own way, and then some are funnier in the English dub than in the Japanese version (How is that possible? Jin and Chu's Irish and Australian accents, respectively xd ).
But overall, I'd have to say Kuwabara is the funniest, hands down. The contrast between his "tough guy" exterior and love for kittens never fails to crack me up. heart
Second would be Yusuke, who's just silly sometimes. Sharing third/fourth spot are Hiei and Kurama, for the same reasons as you both pointed out, and also because when we do see them make a funny face or some such, it's so unexpected (i.e. Hiei tiredly threatening to kill everyone before passing out). And rounding out the top five is English dub Jin - he's flat-out hilarious sometimes ("I thought I was crazy, Urameshi, but you take the prize! Th' Hell was that? You don't make bombs go boom in ya face!" rofl ).

They all have their own way of being funny, but Kuwa-chan takes the cake. Yusuke and Jin are second, then third is Hiei. But this is for the ones who say funny things. Kurama is funny with the things he does (biting his thumb when he giggled at Hiei's expense, funny faces, etc.).
And you guys just gave me a drawing idea with the Hitler Hiei. rofl

Well looky here, a thread I have yet to respond too... *Slaps self on wrist* Bad Miko! rofl
Ahem, anyway... When it comes to the character that made me laugh the most in the Yu Yu Hakusho series, it would be Yusuke... So for me, Yusuke would be the funniest character in Yu Yu Hakusho, followed by Kuwabara, then Hiei. I know most people wouldn't really peg Hiei as funny, but I think that rude front is just hilarious. Kurama can have a funny moment every once in a while, but I've never really seen him as that amusing... However, this is all just my own opinion here ^^;

I agree, Hiei is a funny guy. He try to be all serious and depressed all the time, but he seem to soften somewhat around the three others. Besides, his comments/arguments with Kuwabara always makes me laugh; they argue even more in the manga. whee

I think that Hiei's the funniest because most of his conversations (or even his one-liners) are so witty no matter whom he's talking to. It's hilarious.
(Or perhaps my sense of humor is just twisted.)

Kuwabara and Hiei.
I can't help but laugh most of the time they talk to each other.
I think Japanese Hiei's funnier than English dub Hiei and same for Kuwabara,
though the Portuguese Kuwa and Hiei can be pretty funny from what I understand.

I think EVERYONE is funny on that show, except maybe Yukina (then again, she was never meant to be funny.) That's one of the main reasons that I love the show so much.
I think Hiei is pretty funny on his own, and when he and Kurama go at it, they're hilarious. People mocking Hiei is funny as well.
Yusuke is funny in that, "Ha-ha...*chuckle*" kind of way. As in, I've never burst out in laughter at him, but he makes me giggle with his sarcasm. And Kuwabara is just... rofl I don't particularly like it when people make fun of him, but he himself is just funny. "Mulberry is a tree, Kuwabara is a man!" (I read somewhere that 'kuwabara' means mulberry tree. O.o)
And the other supports are funny too. Genkai, when she's being mean, Koenma and Botan, and of course Shizuru. ("...then I might just have to stick my head in an oven.") Keiko can even be funny sometimes.
