Well first you have to know that sin separates us from God, and causes us to die. But by sacrificing Himself, Jesus made it possible for us to be forgiven of our sins if we just believe and follow his teachings. It is because of this forgiveness that we can go to Heaven with Him when we die. Keep in mind you have to choose to believe and follow Jesus in order to really receive this forgiveness. The great thing about it is that God is willing to forgive anyone who comes to Him. No matter what terrible things someone does, God will still forgive them if they believe and follow Jesus.
Once you give your life to God, you get a peace and joy that is not possible with out God. He will change your life and you will become a great person. I have gone through this change and have become a better person that I was before I knew God. He has blessed me so much in my life, I have to tell everyone about it. So if there is more that you would like to know, keep asking, I would love to talk to you more about it, or anything else for that matter. If you are down or lonely, just drop me a pm and we can talk. 3nodding

Jesus is God. He came to earth and became man then He was nailed to the cross and took our sins, our curse, our death. He saved us by sacrificing His self, for He is holy and perfect. When Jesus died He went to hell with our sins and paid the price so that when we die we do not have to go to hell. He rose from hell victorious, because after all He is God. only He could have paid the price and so He gave the greatest gift: salvation.
thanks to God's loving sacrifice we can alll have eternal life with Him. He wants us to live with Him forever. The price was already paid, our salvation was bought and now all we have to do is receive it. and that is no theory, it is the gospel (good news) truth.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but shall have everlasting life."

Lazarus The Resurected Well that's one theory anyway. I do believe the question was how Jesus gives people eternal life, not who do you think Jesus was. =]

I always wonder why that way of thinking is known as Satanism TBH. I mean is it that you do beleive in a higher power, and just don't bother to choose a way to follow it? Is it called that because it's a similar to what satan is suppose to think? I have no clue why it's called Satanism and why it can't simply be called non religious.

Just wiki satanism and you'll find out what they believe in, in a nutshell.
As for believing yourself to be the highest power, what do you think about the power of nature? How is that related to your beliefs? Also, how do you believe we came into existence?

I guess that makes sense, but it sounds more like a religion of rebellion. And not the kind that people do when they are oppressed, but the kind that you do just for the sake of rebelling. The kind that has no real meaning or reason.

That was kind my though too. Christianity has a bad history thanks to things that humans did to it. And because of these actions, and the actions of Christians even today, I can see why so many people want to rebell against it. Atheism is another religion that comes to mind.
"I like your Christ, but not your christians" -Gandhi- This quote comes to mind. This comes from the fact that as human beings we make mistakes. In the middle ages religion was coupled with government, and we have learned that absolute power corrupts absolutely. So if you give the church power over peoples lives and the government power over peoples souls, what do you think happened?
That is why we had many influential people come to reform the church to break free from the bonds that satan had placed on the church. Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Wesley, etc.. These people dramatically helped the church come closer to what God intended.
That being said Lazarus, I would really like to know everything that you know about Christianity. Maybe I can clear up some confusion, just as you did for me with your religion.

Ok Lith, here is the Lazarus The Resurected view of chrisitanity in a nutshell: Christianity, founded on the teachins of Jesus of Nazareth is a religion based pretty much in peace and love. Christianity also teaches that it alone is the way to enlightenmetn and heaven, I always saw this as a little arrogant. the Bible is the Christian Handbook contains a large number of rules and regulations for getting into heaven these rules include lists of sins most of which are natural human impulses( ie, sex and greed) of course their biggest sin is to not believe in the religion
