I don't hate it... I just see it as ... not so special? I personally would rather a surprise... not some cliche.
I'm the kind of person who would like flowers, sure, but if you bought me a candy necklace I'd get all giddy. It doesn't take much to please me in my opinion. Stuart told me he's not romantic and he doesn't do valentine day s**t. I told him romantic, in my opinion, has nothing to do with buying things or taking me places, I find him kissing my shoulder and playing with my hair and telling me he's gunna cook dinner romantic.
Just knowing he's mine is enough.

[ ] I get stuff from my parents every year and that's it. At least my parents love me, I suppose. I was really hoping for a snow day today because I hate seeing all of that stuff at school. Chances are that a big portion of those couples won't even be together in the next few years, so it's pretty pathetic that all these high school girlfriends expect stuff and the guys have to get it or else they risk their girlfriend leaving them, which usually ends up happening later on anyway. []

I like to buy something nice for my son and daughter on valentines,even though my daughter gets something nice from her guy,i still like her to have something special from me.

Most high school relationships don't last that long... it's just how it is. They're not meant to last forever, in my opinion, they're meant to be used as a learning tool.
And yes, Stuart is very cool. I get lucky finding nice guys... but then they end up leaching off me cuz I'm nice and I just want to enjoy things with them... and they don't have $$.
I'm going to stop doing that... or try at least.

I agree completely, and that's why I say what I said. My parents were one of the very rare exceptions that met in high school and married sometime after they graduated. And they're still together somehow.
