On the streets of New York, the sky's the limit....
... At least thats what the billboard said.
In an era where demons and creatures of the night walk the streets without qualm, in the modern age, these creatures may flaunt or hide their identities... But they effect the fate of all those around them. Whether for good, evil, or self preservation. Their fates are interwoven, like a thread in a web, with the existence of their very world at the center.
However there are a select few who stand out among the rest, these souls are bound by a deeper thread, and their lives connected more deeply than anyone could imagine. Many of them come from different dimensions, different worlds, and different times with different motives for their actions.
But all of them share the same destiny...
For many years I've been recording these events, and now it is my pleasure to recite these events in detail. For they are the center stone for the basis of what the world is now, and how you should live within it.

Celestial Protector of the Fifth

This tale starts with a man, whom like most other men, had someone with whom held his heart dearly. In time he'd come to realize that he had many people who he loved enough to protect, but right now he is a selfish man, reveling in the carnage of fighting and plotting against his fellow.
At this point in time, this man had kidnapped a girl, the daughter of his love. With her blood, it was his intention to resurrect his fallen one, for the woman he loved was no ordinary woman. But a woman so skilled in the art of necromancy, that with the blood of her kin, she could be reborn.
Her name... was Iona. And his... Maxxium.
However, though his motive was for love, it wasn't a pure love. And both parties were far from the side of good, yet they neither sided with purely evil. Nonetheless his efforts proved to be in vain, for his plans for his love was thwarted by the might of the Archangel Gabriel, and the patron Saint Bridgette. As our Saint was about to slay him, Gabriel stepped in, for they were brethren you see. Each one of them were Angels under the service of the 'Goddess', though both of them did not serve Her anymore, Gabriel still considered them kin.
So he brought the man with him. But when the man awoke, he awoke with fire in his eyes, and hatred in his heart. Maxxium was not fond of Gabriel, he despised him, even wished him death. He did not share the views of their bond, and declared them as enemies. So they battled, the battle did not last long however, and soon Maxxium was brought down with the Archeangels might and the blade of his own weapon. The wounds this dark angel sustained would leave him unable to take flight, for it had been one of his very wings that had been the center of the attack, and he fell unconscious from the pain soon after.
Gabriel had placed his brother angel in the care of the daughter of Iona herself, her name was Anamchara. The sword that Maxxium had used in the battle was a relic of great power, named Asura. The Archeangel took the blade back to Saint Bridgette, and the both of them destroyed what he believed to be a most dangerous weapon. However, them doing so caused a curse to be placed on Maxxium, causing excruciating pain.
It was at this point in time, many many miles away, a woman had decided to make her own journey to dark streets of New York City. With a vision of carnage in the future...
Will her plan succeed?
